It's mostly for people who have tons of homebrew and want to update without loosing there hacking stuff. This updater only updates the main files that need updating to play games not the files that stop hackers.

though if your chipped you can take advantage NOW also look into "bootme" loader for some interesting hacking :o to say the least there are some true enigma's rising most are indeed FAKE but we wont know untill a source and DL link appears weather anything is fake or not...We can ASSUME but we all know what that does LMAO

it did work, i just didnt have anything to use the cIOS, newer revisions of the cIOS have better use. i was just seeing if it did boot backups was all, you will see soon what this cIOS can really do

Cool man, I've tried with a DVD-RW and didn't work, BUT, a guy on WiiBrew(dot)org forums said that he's testes DVD-R DVD-RW DVD+R DVD+RW and DVD-DL and they all worked...he seemed confident, garuanteed people it worked, and promised a vid somepoint today...so anyways, thanks for the heads up on this, your name is on QJ for it too, in really small writing haha, oh well man, you got more fame than me anyways. peace :)

Well it would save us the time of having to use the twilight hack to install dol/elf files. And it will probably become useful later on. I kinda always liked the wii's interface though. It's very gentle, unlike the garbage 360 one so cluttered with ads.

nope i didnt test anything, i wish i could, but im to scared of bricking at the moment because i dont own a modchip, and im not sure about the DVD side of things, i thought you could read burnt disks with roms for the emulator, but some people say you need a modchip still, i would try with a burnt dvd but 1, not waisting a disk 2 dont know the file structure for this emulator for the disks,

its called cIOS CUSTOM IOS, it will lead to custom firmware, and yes it is custom technicaly as its IOS37 as a new firmwarm,not praticaly, but in terms of version number, and what can use that firmware, it is custom

Are you able to read? This is a Custom 37 ISO installed as 249 it is the same as IOS 37 with the exception of the patched DVD_LowUnencryptedRead function, which makes it possible for HOMEBREW like all the emulators out there to access unencrypted DVD Discs. So you could burn all your ROMS to a normal DVD.There is a working version of a Genesis Plus emulator for Wii that takes advantage of this firmware to load ROMs off DVD.They also released a Wii Disc Dumper to FrontSD app using this IOS.

nintendo wont ban anyone, they may patch it tho, not this version number but just do a read of all real IOS check there signing and if anything else is found(other than the real ones) delete it, kinda like the zelda block which deleted zelda if it has the "long charactor name" dont expect anything from nintendo soon, it took them 3 months to fix the zelda bug,

i think i know more about wii hacking that this dude, for one, i knew that the wii kept all its IOS with each 3.0 3.1 etc updates because the wii doesnt really have "a" firmware. i posted a long thing about a few months back on gbatemp and everyone was like nooo, i have coded some stuff for wii which was on QJ aswell, so him telling me what i already know is stupid really, i know its IOS37, IT WAS PATCHED, thats the whole point, patchmii will do the same.
