The fact is if people of his time were persecuted for following him not long after his death which there is record of, why would so many openly give their lives for a man that there was no evidence for existing.

The sad part is that this guy sincerely believes he's doing the right thing. I want to ask people who use fear of God as a tool the following question - If God would choose to punish anyone for eternity simply because that person refuses to acknowledge and accepts that God loves them, what kind of all-loving God does that make Him? He would be no better than any of us on our very worst day. He would be worse.

I don't agree with how the guys does it, but let me ask you this? Who are you to judge God or His actions? You place your human bias and preconceived ideas on Him. You just did it throughout that statement. God has the right to do as He pleases and sees well. He would be better than any of us on any of our days. You are judging God by human standards. I''m not judging God at all. I'm asking a simple question about this preoccupation with Hell. I'm under the assumption that Jesus redeemed all of mankind on the cross and that all sins were paid for. That's what I'm told. Once you accept Jesus as your Savior, that, as they say, is that. Done deal. Period. Sins forgiven. Unless you believe Jesus was somehow not able to complete this task. So, what's the preoccupation with damning people to Hell. What's with the judgment. That's all.

@CommanderC4 Actually I have found that only a small group of Atheist are also anti-theists. We see on all sides some great honest good people and some people that are just scum but I find that their theist beleifs or lack of such seems to be more of an excuse then being directed as such.

The term atheist is actually derived a Greek word "athos" that means "to disbelieve in gods"(Yup, people thought religion was stupid even back then), not the term theist with the prefix "a" in front of it implying not. Not really important in practical terms but it does serve to differentiate those who believe there isn't with those that could go either way, IE "agnostics".
Your point is valid but I'm a stickler for clarification. : P

If Jesus said "Turn the other cheek" and he also said "Sell your tunic and buy a sword" It shows that, that is just one of the many many contradictions in the Bible. This looser doesn't even acknowledge that. He just goes on as if one if correct and the other makes no difference. I guess that means for every contradiction in the Bible, we can pick and choose for ourselfs which one is right and which one is complete crap.

OR:You can believe AND know. Believing is a subset of knowing.
You can know something AND believe it to be true. I BELIEVE that he meant to ask
"Do you know or JUST believe?"
OR:"do you KNOW it, or is it solely a BELIEF?"
