you have to set the speed to 140 or around 220 or so.. then it might sound better and the start is wrong is e-e-e-c-e-g-g... the last g is 1 octave lower then the g in front of it

This is the actual midi file. I checked around and downloaded 10 mario theme songs off the web and 9 of them were exactly like this one. The other one is simpler. I'll put that one up soon and just to please everybody I will do it both full speed and again at 1/2 speed. Meanwhile, have fun with this. I mainly just wanted to introduce the free software.

Actually this is the orignal transcript... I have it, the sound is a little different in tonality because the piano has a different sound quality than the electronic keyboard sound in the game. Also if you read the description, whoever did this slowed the pace of it down. Slowed tempo makes it sound different as well.

.... I'm going by what is heard in the actual game. If load up the ROM of this game in a nes emulator such as Nesticle you can single out the different voices or parts of the music. It's simple synthesis. There's nothing different as far as tonality whether you use a midi piano or a square wave. This reminds me of the old scan2midi software in which it misses all sorts of accidentals or the "key" wasn't specified right.
