  • wow, they had cell phones back in 1995 ?!!

  • @jklfds85 They had them before that, but they were huge.

  • The Dictaphone goes round and round as the lady calls SF Police 86

  • The busy message on the cellphone sounds like it might be played by the narrator.

  • @1RadicalOne My parents used to have a mobile phone like that; it played the same message when the person didn't answer.

  • I see...does the narrator/host do that sort of thing for a living?

  • That answering machine looks like it might also be from the episode where that one lady from the phone research center calls the one guy and the outgoing message is a suicide threat.

  • Danggg big glasses

  • they were hot back in the day

  • @Nicole4ever74 lol thats the early 90s for you, im sorry to say i had a pair myself.

  • That guy in he first picture is mighty fine.

  • on 1:49 i think this lady needs just alitte bit bigger glasses.

  • 1:50 in, huge glasses. lol.

  • lol

  • 1:06 is from "Suicidal caller" #127, 1:37 is from "San Francisco Firefighters" #107.

  • this is an amazing episode..im active on the waiting list for a kidney and it scares me to think that even today i could miss that call..

  • that san francisco dispatcher is my mom! and i haven't seen this since it originally aired in '96... only NOW am i truly convinced of the awesomeness that is the internet. thank you so much for posting this!

my mom is one of the best people in the world. the people of san fransisco are lucky to have her... LOL "do this impossible thing."

  • Your mom is one of the good ones ! 911 in SF has gone downhill since the new dispatch system was installed . It's Mayor Newsom's and City Hall's fault . All he cares about is screwing his new wife and gay marriages , he is wasting the good citizen's time and money and if 911 there was not so much of a pressure cooker , I would put in my application to work and train all I can to be a real "angel" at the other end of the line for people who really need help . The city of SF is a sewer !

  • didnt she have voice mail on her cell phone? While being on a transplant waiting list, that cell phone is her life line! True shit happens, but at least people cared enough to help. *** To the cops... "To serve and protect" -Good job boys! Thumbs up!

  • I don't think car phones had voicemail back then. My parents had one like that back in the day, and it didn't have voicemail.

  • You are right David, cell phones did not have voicemail on them. Remember the phone in a bag? That was my parents first cell phone and we got it in 93 from Southwern Bell Mobile System.

  • @allgood2000 ours didn't, i think all it did was display the number, but that didn't always work either sometimes ppl would say they called and we didn't have a clue. curse those things im so glad technology has improved.

  • I feel sorry for this woman but it is very irresponsible to be out of contact when you are on such a waiting list. Now it is everyone else's problem to race around trying to find her and getting stressed out. I guess you cant stop living your life though. As they say "a watched pot never boils."

  • They thought their cell phone was on .. they took it off the car charger as it was done charging but didn't know that turns it off. Not like they knew. They are not geeks. But that is why a pager is best.

  • Speaking of "Easter Hunt", I have to ask: Allgood, do you have this segment? If so, I would appreciate it if you could upload it, when time allows. I know how busy you are.

  • Gregorkrause, I'm glad you mentioned that segment.

As one of the biggest fans of Rescue 911, I have to ask:

Allgood, do you have this segment? If so, I would appreciate it if you could upload it, when time allows. I know you're a busy college student.

  • "Easter Hunt" is a related segment to this

  • Oh well, if they have file footage they may as well use it.

  • the #8 Trolley is also used in an earlier segment "San francisco apt fire" which is #107 also the guy in the blue jacket and people on the trolley looked the same as on episode #107

  • They also re-used the shot of the answering machine from Episode 127 in the answering machine suicide threat segment.

  • How do you know this?

  • I also noticed that the answering machine seen in the segment you mentioned is also in the suicide threat segment. I need to re-watch episode 127 to see if it is the same machine as seen in the suicide threat segment..

  • Shoot I screwed up- this is the segment with the same answering machine seen in Episode 127 which is the suicide threat segment!
