  • The rattling of the EZ Steer would drive me insane!

  • a bar rake is the best way to go just tandem 2 of them up together with a hitch my friend has a 640 jd rake and it has raked over 40000 acres of hay he rakes hay with it every day in the summer

  • by a set of claas rakes the r the best for heavy windrows.

  • i cant understand why you boys leave the loader on for a job like rowing up!

  • I guess the question is, why not?

To park the loader I have to drop the fork, grab the bucket, park the loader, then hook up to the rake. Then an hour later disconnect the rake, re-install the loader, drop the bucket, grab the fork, and go load trucks. The loader has suspension, and does not impair visibility.

Parking Deere loader in a field is not ideal either.

  • @JoshJJA what brand is the v- rake you using? I can't really tell, the v rake we use though is made by god. No to little ground damage, our's is a different style though, our rake is a Kuhn sr110. Great rake.

  • 15 minutes after this video was taken the tractor was loading trucks.

Since the loader isn't being removed, it takes no time to hook up the rake, so the tractor can be raking in between trucks.

  • people take them off for mowing too but i have moved a lot of fallen trees out of the way before and sometimes when your raking and the baler is in the field at the same time you have to move a bale that rolled in the way. Plus they are such a pain to take off.

  • @kyler309 all you do is loosen 2 bolts if its a quick attach loader

  • Looks like fun.

What don't you like about your wheel rake?

  • Don't like scratching the ground (mixes dirt/dead grass/rocks) into the swath. Doesn't make the most even swath either.

  • @JoshJJA we have a new holland rake that does a excellent job at swathing, it makes them nice and puffy and never sweeps dust and rocks in, its only problem is we got it on the narrowest setting and the swaths are still a little wide for the baler sometimes, the wheels on this rake dont look like they are moving much, ours spin about the same speed as the tires and looks like u might be going a little fast too

  • @JoshJJA it grabs dirt because its to low to the ground
