A while ago I posed a question in the comments section of the video the RRS uploaded referring to theists having mental disorders. My question was if one or more of Kelly's kids decided to believe in God, would she take them to see a psychologist.

A certain book exists. I have some knowledge of this book. I find inconsistency in this book as it petains to morality. I conclude that morallity has evolved by natural causes before the book OR any other book of said type was written.

I borrowed that book from the library, and I tried hard to read it, but I could not get past the first couple of chapters. It was literally nauseating--completely incoherent as far as clear lines of reasoning. It was just baseless attack followed by outrageous exaggeration, and repeat. I couldn't take it. BUT if I had noticed that she "debunked" evolution (lol) I would have read that chapter first! I think I'll go check it out again, just for that.

Charles Darwin got a LOT of things right, and he got some wrong. That was one of the wrong things. We don't hold Darwin up as an all-knowning, all-seeing Gawd who is perfect and unerring. What he got right put us on the right track to refine Evolutionary theory.

A while ago I posed a question in the comments section of the video the RRS uploaded referring to theists having mental disorders. My question was if one or more of Kelly's kids decided to believe in God, would she take them to see a psychologist.

Since we must only rely on evidence for any possible belief we are allowed to have. What evidence be it archeological, historical, or biological do we have that leads us to believe that morality existed before any form of religion. Please allow me to rephrase your argument.
A certain book exists. I have some knowledge of this book. I find inconsistency in this book as it petains to morality. I conclude that morallity has evolved by natural causes before the book OR any other book of said type was written.
If I or any other christian used such reasoning we would be accused of irrationality.
I must be mistaken. I sincerely thought that atheists only accepted empirical evidence as proof.

Since you asked though, the inconsistancy I mentioned does eliminate the bible as a feasable source of any moral code - If it can't agree within itself it can hardly have any validity elsewhere.
Also, the fact that most of our laws are far superior, and contradict the teachings of the bible, regarding slavery, torture, racism, homophobia,paedophilia etc, should also eliminate it as a moral guide.

His argument is that the damage caused by the spread of misinformation (condoms don't stop aids) is much worse than any good the christians may have done in africa. and isn't it a little judgemental and condescending to assume what is going through one of those teenagers minds while at church? I would have to say teaching Abstinence or no sex until marriage is just as important as handing out truckloads of condoms in Africa. And hey I gurantee you there are people who use the ol excuse of "it dosen't feel the same" I can see the Cathloic church being against condoms but the other denominations generally don't have a problem with them. I was just saying his argument was not unfounded. I'm sure some people may use that excuse..but if we have missionaries, even a fraction of the total missionaries spreading the lies about the effectiveness of condoms, problems do arise. In South Africa the deputy president had sex with a HIV positive prostitute and said on national tv that he didn't get aids because he had a shower. It's this kind of misinformation that's running rampant that creates such a big problem.

I borrowed that book from the library, and I tried hard to read it, but I could not get past the first couple of chapters. It was literally nauseating--completely incoherent as far as clear lines of reasoning. It was just baseless attack followed by outrageous exaggeration, and repeat. I couldn't take it. BUT if I had noticed that she "debunked" evolution (lol) I would have read that chapter first! I think I'll go check it out again, just for that.

The master of evolutionary research, Charles Darwin himself, said after he had compiled his years of studies that he didn't feel that all things he'd seen could exist and that all of the evolution of species could have occurred without intelligent design. Not necessarily a proof of God statement, but it sure isn't used by "Evolutionists" to back up their case.

Missionaries doing a horrible injustice? Spreading AIDS??!???!?? This guy is a friggin nutcase. Jesus lied? Where does this guy get his information? Mother Theresa was NOT an unbeliever in her life. She fought with depression and felt that God's Spirit wasn't over her for much of her life, but she was compelled to carry on doing what she felt GOD called her to do ONLY because she had faith in Him.

Yes. Preaching abstinence only along with the "evils of condom use" IS contributing to the spread of A.I.D.S. They would do less harm simply STAYING HOME! So why do they go? They go to spread a mind virus. The one that controls them and YOU.
Mother Theresa saw the TRUTH; however, she was much too vested in the evil trappings of Christianity to declare it openly. She miserably carried on, CAUSING her great anguish. YES! The loving church!

Where did you get ANYTHING that states I deny evolution? Misinformed again. I do believe in evolution. If nearly impossible to look at some species of animals and think otherwise. It's a matter of macro versus micro, and I assure you that one of them is a foolish notion. As if the human body and all of it's complexities and intricacies could just happen?

ANY missionary that treats people in such a way is NOT a true believer in the God I serve, I assure you. I know there are many Catholic missionaries, and others as well, that go out and have selfish motives and ambitions that compel them to do things that are not in line with what my faith would call them to do. It's a disgrace and tragic, but they are not the standard. I fear for their souls.

So, they are guilty of hypocrisy. Why would an atheist care about the missionaries or the people they are not helping? Shouldn't they be more concerned about spreading their genes? Why be so concerned with disproving God and start naturally selecting people to breed with?

well ussick i'd say since atheists are generally moral and upstanding people they could be annoyed at those who claim to help but because of thier "religious beliefs" can do more harm than good. that's my opinion anyway.

What is the moral authority for an atheists? Themselves? Whose standards do you judge Christians by? The Bible says all men have sinned. Personally I have broken all ten commandments. Am I still moral and upstanding? If I am then I don't need to change. If I am not then what does Atheism propose that I do about it? Deny it?
