Good to see a live Possum. In Tasmania they are persecuted and culled massively. Even pet shop staff brag how they entice them with food then shoot them while drinking beer on their verandas. Over one Million Wallabies were killed in one year in Tasmania because Gunns don't like them eating their precious plantations. Trouble with that is that 80 percent of Tasmania has all been cleared of the old growth forests which includes its wildlife. God help our native wildlife from the evils of man.

@extramural yeah opossums come up to my deck (in new england, usa) and eat some leftover cat food at times...even right next to the cats sometimes...and the same with skunks...they're pretty gentle and calm mostly

It's not a tree kangaroo, it's a Golden Brushtail Possum. There are over 69 different species of Possum, and that's one of them. The possum with the scaly tail isn't actually a possum, it's an opossum, which is a completely different family of animals.

He is definitely a possum (not an opossum, they are american, he is australian)... Clearly never been to australia guys! he's an albino brushtail possum which is common in aus (some may even say pest). they eat leaves, fruits, veges & flowers & are nocturnal. this guys name is jazz & i work with him & others like him. they are not scavengers like racoons & there is no rabies in australia so if you were to get bitten all you'd get is very sore! he sure is a good advertisement for aussie tourism!

let alone the Opossum is typically black and white and very... hmm I want to say looks like a drowned rat. 1 in 800 times less likely to catch rabies than a dog too mind you so they're perfectly harmless. Just gotta watch out from the typical germs they may carry as they are scavengers.
