Mike walks in and says "you habent done anything the car looks worse than when it came in". Any other givem mechanic would have mike's balls lobbed off after hearing that
those arent the factory mirrors they look terrible on there the fan switch was easy to replace in 5 mins too...I've done mine...its on the block on passenger side below plugs

I don't think dude realizes that Knight rider was a Pontiac Firebird, witch is the same as a Chevy Camaro. Those cars took some styling cues from the vette but were built cheaply in comparison.
The Trans-Am is a Firebird. Its the highest trim level with all the bells and whistles. I know because I used to own one back when gas was $1.25 a gallon. The title said 1997 Firebird on it, the hood even had the Flying Chicken.

@justonemori Let me correct that last statement. The earlier Thunderbirds were great cars with innovative styling and technology. By the 80s they were terrible and continued through to the mid 90s. Then it had a last hurrah from 02-05 and those were actually quite interesting.

I have never seen them skimp so much on restoring a car. It's actually disappointing. If you do a corvette, do it up RIGHT! although the acoustic carpet was actually quite clever.
Those dashes did fail all the time. I don't understand why he has to keep taking a shot at american electronics. A correct statement would have been "those dodgy 80s american electronics". Let's be honest. The mid 80s GM was putting out a lot of crap. Compare this C4 to a later C4 and it's night and day.

I have had both American and English cars. My present American car has over 275,000 miles on the original engine. My other American car has over 220,000 miles on the original clutch. I doubt if you would get that out of an English car.

Corvettes are not bad cars. Admittedly, they do suffer from some electric gremlins (especially cars from the 1980s), but these problems are nothing in comparison to blights inherent within British or Italian cars of the same vintage--except for the Brits who were out of business by then. Seriously, Corvettes are fun simple cars that are a good value. So are most Italian and British cars--periodic maintenance is part of the hobby. If you don't like putting in the work go buy a Kia.
I'm with you on the german build quality. Italian cars though tend to break down all the time. They do make some fast cars(you know which) but they especially tend to break down a lot of times. Japanese cars go forever as well as the germans.

That car uses R-12 which requires you have a license now. So in a way, yes they are correct. Now days you have to find a "specialist" or someone licenses to use R-12. Oh, and yes you have to be licensed to even buy R-12.

no he's right, americans do usually build some of the crappest cras in the world.Most of the best cars in the world are European Made, either Italian/German or British. Only in the US will you see someone driving crap like Cadillac, heck even the Ford brand is a lot more exciting under german control. Even American people don't root for American cars and root for the German or Japanese alternative.

Corvettes are not bad cars. Admittedly, they do suffer from some electric gremlins (especially cars from the 1980s), but these problems are nothing in comparison to blights inherent within British or Italian cars of the same vintage--except for the Brits who were out of business by then. Seriously, Corvettes are fun simple cars that are a good value. So are most Italian and British cars--periodic maintenance is part of the hobby. If you don't like putting in the work go buy a Kia.

I'm with you on the german build quality. Italian cars though tend to break down all the time. They do make some fast cars(you know which) but they especially tend to break down a lot of times. Japanese cars go forever as well as the germans.

Just because we came from there doesn't mean we have to agree with you. My family came from England and Germany around the late 1800s. Aside from that, it only irritates me that you guys praise everything European then trash everything made in the US and don't say that you don't as I see it all the time with that half written script they give the Top gear guys. The most common shot to the US cars is the suspension... "it's too stiff".. Maybe that's because our streets are SMOOTH.

That car uses R-12 which requires you have a license now. So in a way, yes they are correct. Now days you have to find a "specialist" or someone licenses to use R-12. Oh, and yes you have to be licensed to even buy R-12.

Yeah, ok... whatever you say. :) I never said it wouldn't take "off the shelf freon". I have to assume you don't know much about cars though. There is really one type of "off the shelf freon" R-134a. Yes you can convert it from R-12 to R-134a but I'd never do that shit. Your "off the shelf freon" causes cars to run hotter, and it sure as hell doesn't get as cold as R-12. I charge my own A/C system... but yeah.. why not... I'm the idiot. I work on my own truck... not my "friends" car.

By the way Ed. Try pressure washing or "power washing" the engine compartment. It makes it look like new. And its allot cheaper than some bits of add on chrome from a dress up kit..

Despite the fact that the turbine wheels do work better as turbines mounted in the direction that Ed has mounted one.This type of Vette wheel is mounted in the other direction.You got them mounted on backwards. But then whos going 2 mind when U have four wheels with four ties all with different tread design.
And no surprise about the electrics after some weekend hacks been chopping around with spit @ weeny clips.But all in all,Ed's made a real nice ride for ah real student price.Way to go Ed.

His lack of knowledge of Corvettes plumbs new depths, e.g. "It's got the 5.7 Chevy V8!" What else could you expect to find under the hood of an early C4?

As for Brewers so called 'profit' on the 'sale', none of his 'mates' man hours were taken into account.
