We were not in Iraq to promote peace with sadam. We were there to take him out after 11 years of sadam failing to uphold the treaties which he signed ending the 1st Gulf War, which also allowed him to stay in power.
When the military was sent in, it was to liberate iraq and remove him and his sons from power so they were no longer a threat to us or anyone else in the region.

If only peace by example worked. We are a society of multiple religions in the US and on a whole very peaceful in our differing religious beliefs. Muslims are not tolerant of other religions or sects of their own.
The question posed was a classic example of colleges liberal indoctrination. She didn't know who the Kurdish people are. So out spoken about one side yet incapable of learning the entire story. Higher education should be more likened to the euphoria of drugs.

I'm a Viet Nam veteran. I didn't necessarily agree with why we were there, but I knew when I enlisted what may be in store for me as a soldier. You signed your name on the line, you raised your hand and took the oath. Soldiers don't get the chance to choose their wars. If they did, which war would they choose? You go because your country asked that of you, right, wrong or indifferent. You man-up and do it. Freedom has never been purchased with anything but the blood of soldiers.

Kill- I just came back from Iraq, and I am still active duty, and I could not disagree with you more.
We were not in Iraq to promote peace with sadam. We were there to take him out after 11 years of sadam failing to uphold the treaties which he signed ending the 1st Gulf War, which also allowed him to stay in power.
When the military was sent in, it was to liberate iraq and remove him and his sons from power so they were no longer a threat to us or anyone else in the region.

Uhmmm, what? Lets face it, when it comes to war the nice guy finishes last. When we were trying to have peace talks with Japan, they smashed us, what do you want? It's human nature... people are violent deceiving fucks, but that's what we have to work with so why not be at the top of the ladder.
