  • italy is the laugh of the world today

  • its funny how your always are more interested in another country's history then your own...

  • Excellent synopsis of some of the key works.

  • Comment removed

  • awesome vid

  • noobody talks about donatello that much at all and whats even more weird is when im reading abook about the renaissance arists I only find michel angelo leonardo and raphael.

but whatever it makes him more interesing btw.

  • right now im only at 1:15 but im already loving the WHOLE video!! so perfect! especially the music background too!!! GREAT JOB.

  • only italian and chinese know what can be called the real art, not just decoration or design...

  • A parte le musiche ottimo video complimenti, io avrei messo in sottofondo un bel Verdi con il Nabucco...

  • where did you get this information from?

  • what is this painting of a man putting his head out of the earth .. very bright colors were used in this painting.. can anyone tell me =/

  • everyone needs to leave the uploader ALONE about the music. the music is BEAUTIFUL, and fits perfectly with video. i watch this video many times per day, the music is so lovely. great job!!!

  • I love the song.

  • which types of Art were popular at this time?

  • @SuperIbrahim7

mostly frescos and oils but later

  • hey what are the songs in this? great vid!

  • ööö... wery wery stubid video!!! :)

  • MILLENNIUM SHAKESPEARE art exhibition ... M.S.A.E. during the Olympics 2012 - Artists from around the world, Japan, England, France, Ukraine, Russia, Turkey, Iran, USA, and many many more....

  • I know which artists I like, and that's that. I honestly couldn't care much less about their ethnicity. You don't need to know where Michelangelo was from to be able to appreciate his work. And people just disgrace themselves when they use shared nationality as a way to claim pride. But I digress. I admire all of them! (:

  • The Renaissance began on the Balkans in Bulgaria back at 1259 AD NOT in Italy

    watch?v=dj15t5L7pqs

  • @MrJimygold XD XD ...Please...

  • nice video

  • I muted the sound because I enjoyed the pictures more that way. Thanks for putting the show together

  • Absolutely beautiful! Thank YOU!

  • what is the second song called?

  • Plato? Aristotle? it seems strange that this artist would paint images of those two, whom if they lived in Raffaels time, would have been persecuted for being pagans! i bet Savonarola wanted that painting burned! i hope he didnt find it!

  • i still cant see the difference between a naked woman in a painting and a naked woman in porn.

  • You are all wrong about what nation did more than the next.Genetic Science is a fact.

Man came from the Bushmen of Africa. The genetic markers do not lie...ie...

National Geographic "Journey of Man"Besides God created alcohol so the Irish

    would not rule the World!

  • sorry but the song ruins the video

  • This self-professed "spic" (his own word when describing himself, I kid you not!) pretending to be a "redneck" is the resentful nonwhite Colombian dumb troll with a massive inferiority complex: murggik. Review his posts with that other account. Notice the same lies & obsessions about: Spain, Christopher Columbus, Italians (about whom he also knows nothing), Flamenco, Gypsies, surviving Islamic buildings, Hugo Chavez, etc.

  • ninja turtles lol!!!!

  • Can someone explain me why Renaissance began in Florence rather than Roma ?

  • @gipcambero

Rome was the epicentre of religion, they where conservative and interested in iconography, Parts of Italy got interested in antique history from ancient Greece like their Roman ancestors did. So it was a great deal of nostalgia involved. The renaissance became manly a power play between the new elite that was formed by the first Italian capitalist bankers and the old elite, the great power of the Roman Catholic church. It was only a ethical indifference. you should check out GIOTTO

  • Il Rinascimento (The Renaissance) began in FLORENCE in the 14th century and then it started spreading to the rest Of Europe!

  • andrea bocelli...and the romantic art of the renaissance it just does not get any better.....raffaello y botticelli genio siempre!!!!!! desde italia con amor en dei !!!!!!!!...tony amore artista classical guitarista stoke on trent clayton england....

  • And what do you mean that English is the language of the blacks? Don't black people speak many languages? Off the top of my head, French, German, Italian, Dutch, Turkish. Gotta be dozens more. If you're gonna post stuff, BS100, put a little thought behind it, ok?

  • BarcelonaSpain100, you can't belittle a language; you can only belittle a person. If you were less of a dipshit, you'd probably know that.

  • The term Renaissance in French means Re-birth and in Italino means Re-again. Renaissance basically brought a revolution in all aspects of life. Such as, Cultural movement, Humanism, Innovation, Creativity, Art, States, Architecture & self-awarness. Renaissance begun in the Middle ages 14th to 16th centuary from Florence,Italy and spread rest of the europe.

  • this is purpose among hundred years of war in Europe

  • I love renaissance art!! But i want to tell you something if you didn't know already. The school of Athens was based on ancient Greek. Sense didn't know how people looked back then, he based them on people then and if you can get a pic of The school of Athens and you if you zoom in you can see Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Raffaello. Raffaello is on the very right talking to people. Michelangelo is the one writing on the desk on the stairs and Leonardo is walking on top of the stairs.

  • great paintings of the past i love the renisasse(or how ever its spelled) :p

  • thanks for posting this, what i'd do for the talent & great mind of these legends

  • very good art, except the music.

  • I like the presentation, however, I would have added Giotto to this mix - and Masaccio of course. But still appreciate this - grazie.

  • Images & text are very good, i would change music.

  • impresionante!!! el video y la dedicatoria las envio a BULGARIA...

  • MIGHTY MUTANT NINJA TURTLESSS!!!!

  • i like cricket

  • i like the art but i dont like italian criminals! but they do paint good

  • hahaha what have criminals to do with this clip?? no one like crimminals exept those who earn alot of cash from them :)

  • i did not care much for the song I'm afraid... but the information was correct, although I think some paintings and sculptures should have been mentioned in addition to these.

Thank you for uploading this. :)

  • bella la canzone in spagnolo

  • besame mucho ?

  • what's the name of song playing during donatello's part?

  • laura pausini - se fue

  • Thank you so much for such an informative piece. I was just wondering, What were your sources of information for Donatello?

  • David got micro penis btw,not joking .

  • especial!

  • great video. bellisimo

  • The first three were spot on, but I would've chose Ghiberti, Botticelli, or Titian over Donatello.

    Nice video.

  • great slides! but why a mexicain song as background music for italian art?

  • there's no mexican song in the background.

  • Modern art is corrupted and a work of the jew

  • wtf....

  • my thoughts exactly...

  • great job!

  • the Renaissance has never been bettered. they tried but failed. but the Renaissance failed to surpass the ancient greeks, who imo are the greatest artists of all time.

  • I think they both have their own charm, even though they have common subjects, still, one is more about sculpture while the other's bout fresco and oil painting

  • Nice information but the music is totally wrong. Sure, Bocelli is Italian, but you should have picked one of his more classical pieces, in the Italian language as accompaniment. As for the racist comments some people have added here, they are extremely disappointing. Only someone who knows nothing about Italy, it's rich culture, history, and people would make such foolish, insensitive remarks.

  • Very nice, but what do two modern Spanish songs have to do with the Italian Renaissance? The rest is in Italian, granted, but God knows Italian Renaissance music is rich and could much better accompany this show. By the way, the parting words are also in Spanish... What gives? Are we at this point obsessed with Spanish?

  • i think my music fit the video just fine.

  • mate ur music does not fit with the theme at all. renassaince has nothing to do with romanticism and guitars and strings at this point...

  • i dont know about that...I think renassaince art has everything to do with romanticism....but i guess it is all in the eyes of the beholder.

  • ur referring to renaissance humanism... romanticism comes much later.

  • ok...I think lots of different types of art are romantic. I'm not refering to a certain time period either. I'm not an A type personality.LOL. I wont get technical w/ you. It's just part of my nature. I see beauty in everything. A line, scribble, shading or color chice that reflects the human spirit. The painters passion to tell a story or to express.... That is romantic to me.

  • @raluca04 I agree. Very nice music choice. Lovely video. :)

  • @raluca04 Eh, i dont like the music. Mexican does NOt go with the this kind of art. But i love the slides!!!

  • it took place all over Europe most famous painter were itailin

  • and then spain had colonies for one Italian.

spain now was nothing if colombo didn't discover america for spanish crown.

mannaggia il Granducato, Lorenzo il Magnifico poteva inviare le navi perchè anche lui sapeva...

  • Fuck you stupid spanish kid!!!

Italians went all over the world and they PROGRESSED>

    They built the world.

Learn History and see that the Renaissance began in FLORENCE ,Italy!!!

  • @francoruberto thats wrong actuality the Renaissance began in monastery of Sancta Trinita nearby Florence but closer to Lucca where the Monks keep a scret for over a thousand years that Jesus of Nazareth and Mary Magdalene where married and that they have children and that his heirs spread about the whole world one of reasons Renaissance began in Lucca was through the powerfull Countes Matilda of Tuscany lady of Cannossa born in Mantua

  • @francoruberto without the muslims they wudlnt have progressed

  • @ipodt0uchpwn3r LOL!

  • This idiot BarcelonaSpain100 is a multi account loser who post his jealousy day in and day out against the Italians and Spanairds. His goal is to turn Italy, France, Spain against one another.

  • @BarcelonaSpain100. There's only one thing wrong in your comment: your comment!

  • @BarcelonaSpain100 But what does this crap?... enjoy the art and leaves aside the stupid nationalism

  • @BarcelonaSpain100 errr. NO, i THINK THE RENNAISSANCE WAS BORN AND FLOURISHED MORE THAN ANY WHERE ELSE THAN IN ITALY. LEARN HISTORY SPANISH BOY.

  • @petitkoalagris Name ONE song from the Italian Renaissance.

  • @petitkoalagris where are the spanish songs? i can't find one?

  • i dont understand some people. you look up italian renaissance art. and then start talking shit about the italian people... why? dont you have anything better to do? dont you have a life? or are you that bored that you just sit around looking up videos and talking shit about them non stop just so you can feel a little more secure in your life because mommy and daddy didnt pay enough attention to you? please explain.

  • Could'nt agree more.

  • First of all people from Spain and Greece etc are significally darker, but does it matter if you're pale, tanned, dark, w/e anyway? :P

  • VIEWER DESCRETION IS ADVISED!!!!

  • A famous song by a Mexican composer known as "Besame Mucho," and famous throughout the Hispanic world.

  • may I know the title of the song?

  • i love this songs

  • nice song

  • We are artists, our feelings are expressed in our work and with this passion can be felt. We are too deep for the average mental comprehension. It takes an Artist to understand the meaning behind the work of art.

  • cool song

by the way, this video is good. 5 stars!

  • dreuxschwartz, your music is superb!

  • wat about Ducio and Giotto?? i thought they were important in the Italy renaissance/

  • Duccio's time was just before the Renaissance.

  • Also, Giotto was long before the Renaissance, early 14th century. His paintings are impressive, but do not capture the geometric realism and linear perspective of later Renaissance painters.

  • Giotto di Bondone (1261-1337) was the first important painter of the Early Renaissance. He was breaking away from the Gothic and Bizantine artistic traditions with his innovations made in the portrayal of perspective. The Renaissance happened gradually in different places and different times. The start of Renaissance is ascribed to Central Italy, especially the city of Florence. Dante (1265-1321) is considered to be the first writer to embody the spirit of the Renaissance.
