  • Toller Nagellack :)

  • this is a great and honest video.. thanks

  • I wanna add it's not all about weight. It's about the inside being healthy

  • You're so gorgeous boo <3

  • ahh so so pretty!! xxx

  • Congrats on your weight loss doll!! You look great!!!

  • She reminds me of Adele

  • Hey Julia:) I wanted to order the Insanity DVD, but they're only available in USA and Canada. I assume that the DVDs won't play on a swiss laptop because off the Regional Code. Did you have any problems with that and how did you solve it? Thanks & grüessli us Züri;)

  • realy random but how did you get your eyebrows like that.I know people shape them but I can't get my to look right and you realy look pretty in this video

  • Hey! I would love to do the insanity workout!

But one big problem is the fact that they don't seem to ship worldwide (I live in Belgium!)

How did you do living in Switzerland?

    Thanks for answering me!

  • When it's cold out I like to play old school DDR. When I play I feel like I'm back in high school. Also having a mini dance party (even if it's just you dancing like a fool first thing in the morning like I do) can help you get warm.

  • tonguee ring

    ? niceee xD

  • 168 people love BigMac's, and hate to move.

  • I just noticed your tongue ring... Cool. xD

  • you wouldn't believe it I have tried to make a calendar too but first my problem was finding a calendar that starts on a monday (template) instead of sunday. and then the ones I found wouldn't let me write entry's into them. argggghhhh I might just have to go with paint shop pro and be done with it. (instead of microsoft windows or open office etc)

  • I imagined your voice waayy different O.o

  • What are you wearing on your lips? :3

  • The weather is my problem. I have lost 49 lbs since February and I also quit smoking. I usually walk 45 mins a day, do cardio every other day and Pilates 2x a week. I had surgery and it has set me back 6 lbs but I saw this video and it reminded me to start getting back on track. Thanks! I think these are wonderful tips!

  • I push myself thru the pain but being more careful and listening to my body a bit more. is the big DOTS you have on the calendar exercise related? (or personal in which case you don't have to answer that) :) I'd love to know a break down of what cardio involves for you, what the other types of exercises you do etc? great work very inspiring and helpful!!

  • OMG it really IS a problem at the moment, I was doing pretty good last xmas I think. but yea this year naughty food and little lazy too (me) :(

  • Hey, Thanks for the work out advice! I recently gained weight and have been really struggling to lose it. =/

  • Simple but wise advices :)

  • Do you have your tongue pierced?

  • i think you look pretty freakin' sweet now! :D i used to be tiny, and when i got pregnant (almost 4 years ago), i gain about 50 lbs. i've had a hard time time losing it b/c i don't have a huge amount to lose, plus i'm really short, so the weight distribute differently. lol... but i really like your videos! they help me get motivated! i'm actually getting ready to do a workout video :) btw i REALLY like your calender idea! i like anything visual.

  • So long and boring....

  • @MsGanoo then don't watch it. lol. but she has a lot of good information in this video. :)

  • omg ur face and cheeks look more defined! you look like a beautiful model...or even beautifuler!

  • wooo eres increible :)felicidades1

  • You've inspired me to get in shape and start eating healthier!!!! :) Thank you!

  • I live in Miami it's 80 degrees, I can't go sledding :( can you give me other tips?

  • You're an inspiration on the weightloss. :)

  • i love your earrings

  • is it better to work out before or after breakfast when you wake up?? thnx for this video!

  • @amannye It depends, I don't like workout out on a full stomach it makes me feel ill, but everyone is different

  • @amannye i personally think it's better to work out before b/c you'd be burning calories after you work out at a fast rate. so i think it would just make sense to work out before. however, if you do eat breakfast, always wait at least one hour before you work out. that's just what i've always been taught. :)

  • @amannye I know you didn't ask me, but I read somewhere that if you workout before you eat for the day, you can lose up to 50% more

  • im only 16 but maybe this will help me later on in life

  • r u married julia?

  • if you wanna check that how much calories you have in your meal check it out! on loseit.com

  • I love your voice. :P

  • OMGOMG VANCOUVER IS IN CANADA AND IM FROM CANADA, WERE YOU BORN THERE?? :D

  • You look really pretty in this video!!! Xx

  • @AriRHen thank you!

  • @MissChievous I agree this is deff one of my favorite look from you. You look amazing!

  • <3

  • I love that where I live, Australia, it's the middle of summer at Christmas time:) We eat salads, prawns, cold meats and FRUIT, lots of fruit:) We go swimming, sit in the sun and fend off the mosquitoes as it gets dark. I could never even IMAGINE a cold Christmas:P It's a horrible mix for putting on weight, and I think your tips are well thought through and are achievable:) Love your videos, keep up the brilliant work!!

  • I'm a vegetarian so I eat lots of veggies as it is but lately I've been eating lots of sweets and I feel like I've gained all my weight back that I lost in the summer..-.-

  • You are truly my inspiration. You are and have always been a beautiful woman, inside and out.

  • I check off my workouts on a calendar too, it helps me stat motivated when I see so many boxes marked, it just re- enforces my progress. I have a ways to go but its a process, one day at a time. Thank for sharing your journey!

  • How long do you work out and what videos do you recommend for beginners. I would love to see ur full workout it would be so helpful thank you

  • love love love your makeup in this video! tutorial?

  • Great tips - I love your earrings, btw.. :)

  • You know what's weird? I hate Christmas sweets! x) everyone loves them and eats a bunch, I just watch... just the smell of most of them (at least the portuguese ones) make me a little nauseous :o I still gain weight in the winter though... I have a tendency to over eat during the colder days. I'll have to keep your advice in mind!

  • Hi! I like this video. It seems like you have a lot to say on that subject and you're touch by it also. I have little weight problems and it helps me to hear some tips like that. I admired you for being so disciplined. Have a great holiday!

  • I understand feeling fat - especially in zurich!! so many skinny people :P

  • I have greenish eyes like yours, and I love using different shades to change the color of my eyes. I love how the grey makes your eyes more pale and mysterious.

After watching your initial weight loss video, I got the encouragement I needed to make healthier decisions in my life. I am now eating healthy (more or less) and exercising 5 days a week. It was really helpful to hear someone who was encouraging and didn't talk down to me! Thank you.

  • I thought I just had to put it out there: the greatest SWEETENER (that takes some getting used to though) is STEVIA, which is totally natural. In Switzerland you can get it at Coop but it's available in most other countries too. ;) I like my coffee crazy sweet so while I usually swear by honey I'm just so happy I can achieve that sweet taste with something that's virtually 0 ckal :)

  • Julia, you're so awesome! When I saw the thumbnail I was laughing so hard!:) You know you're so right about juices and drinks! I think one great tip is to keep eating normally around Christmastime. Tons of people starve themselves before a big dinner, which means they're eating a lot more when they do. While if you keep eating normally you won't go overboard at dinner.;) At restaurants we always eat some salad or soup at first and then order accordingly--usually it's a lot less than otherwise.:)

  • Hi, you look amazing once more. I like your tips (although I admit that I often give in to the food temptations, hehe!) I also like your eye make-up, could you do a tutorial? Kisses.

  • wow u lost a lot of weight...u look really good! did u do a video on how u lost the weight?

  • Du siehst sooo hübsch aus in diesem Video :) Ich wünsche dir besinnliche Feiertage und einen schönen Weihnachtsabend! Ganz liebe Grüße!

  • plus I love your nails, they look so healthy!

  • I believe you... And I know that these steps will help on my journey excepting a healthier lifestyle... Can't wait!

  • I'm vegetarian, I lose weight in Christmas time because my whole family serves meat ;D

  • Um...duh!

  • Thank you for giving real information! There are so many people who think they have to stick to a certain diet, or that they can achieve quick weight loss. I'm glad you recognize that it really is a lifestyle change, and not just a crash diet. xx

  • Moderation is key - it's okay to allow yourself a treat. Self-deprivation will only make you feel resentful, just like there is no need to binge. Self-control, self-discipline and allowing yourself some wiggle room....no one ever said you had to remain removed from the celebrations.

  • hey, just dropping a comment, congrats on the weight loss and your make up is stunning! your eyes are so pretty :)

  • you are soo skiny .. congrats!

  • OH MY GOD TONGUE RING!!!!

  • You look AMAZINGLY GORGEOUS! Wow, keep up the great work. I have been watching you for a long while now. I love all that you do, such a wonderful teacher and inspiration!

  • you look amazing!! i hear a lot of bad things about the insanity workouts and how people can easily get hurt because of the extreme high impact. im glad u mentioned in the info bar that people who are new to exericising should not do this workout. in addition people with joint or problems with their back, legs, knees, etc should def not do this workout!!

  • It's the holidays eat and drink however much you want!

  • This is so off topic, but are you doing a tutorial for the look in this video? Love the eyes!

  • I'm glad i don't enjoy most of the christmas sweets and i don't drink alchool! but my weakness is chocolate! i have lost some weight and i'm at a normal weight for my age and hight but i want to keep it - what i have been doing is eating healthy and the splurge on 2 or 3 pieces of chocolate per day (around 125kcal). I can't avoid it! I'll stop chocolate next year XD

I usually follow what you said :) it works!

  • Great idea for the calendar, an idea is that the days you are sore, instead of doing intence workouts, maybe do light aerobics like swimming, or yoga.

  • Thank you so much for these health videos, they are really awesome! And also you look really good in this video, love the top, the makeup and the hair. Really suits you :)

  • Dear Misschievious, Okay, hi there. From West Ky, USA. You look as if your exercise gives you that glowing complexion. Super advice on watching the beverages and the hidden calories and sugars in them that will wreck or sabotage your weight loss goals. You look super slim. Some people I know don't look as well after a weight loss. KathyH.

  • Hi congrats for your weight lost, you must have been really strong to reach sunch amazing result! i took turbo fire but i haven't started it yet. I wanted to ask you if is necessary to stick to their food's program ( eat exactly what they say). isn't it anough to just eat healty? my fear is that if i'll work out according to ther dvds and i won't follow their diet i won't loose weight, please i'm about to start the hard journay that you had so well accomplished, can you help me out answering?

  • @flaminia21 I didn't follow any of the Beachbody diets, in fact I didn't even look at them to see what they say. I just ate healthy.

  • @MissChievous thank you for your answer :-) i'll follow your advise. i wish you a good cristhmas and an happy new year

  • @flaminia21 What blush are you wearing? It looks so good on you. Thanks for amazing videos :).

  • @persiancat331 hi :-) i think that you make a mistake ( you wrote to me but you wanted to wirite to MIsschievous ) cause i didn't make any videos and i'm not as good as MissChievous, i'm just a beginner :-P but if you were speaking about me the blush that i'm using is Mac blushbaby

  • I totally agree with you about starbucks drinks. they put like 4 huge pumps of syrup then drizzle more syrup on top then I am wondering where my coffee disappeared into this huge pool of sugar. It is just so unhealthy, no one should consume that amount of sugar all at once.

  • How did you build up to Insanity? I did it once this summer and only completed the first month before I started slacking. Plus I was still eating too much... and way too much junk. I want to redo it in January and February 2012 along with healthier eating (vegetarian, less processed foods, etc)

  • What you are saying is 100% true. Unfortunately, most people can't accept that to lose weight they need to change their lifestyle permanently, not just stop eating sweets or exercise for a couple of weeks. I hate people saying "I'm on a diet". Everyone is on a diet because your diet is what you eat. So the best advice is: Don't live to eat but eat to live and move your body! Everyone can afford and has half an hour a day to do some sports. So give up excuses and you will soon see the difference.

  • @a1n9e8t4a Totally agree with what you are writing. :) Thanks

  • @a1n9e8t4a so painfully true...

  • Unfortunately I've been there. I decided to change my lifestyle 3 years ago. I watched my diet, exercised 6 times a week. I lost 10 kg. But after 2 years of doing everything religiously I started getting tired of all the routine. As I reached my goal I gradually started eating more crap, skipping workouts and I gained 8 kg back and now I have to start it all over again. But I know that unless you vary your diet and exercise plan, you will get bored with it sooner or later.

  • god you're stunning ! ootd and tutorial please !

  • I really recommend Tamilee Webb's DVDs "I want those abs", "I want those buns", "I want those arms" and "I want this body". On each there are two fifteen-minute workouts one for beginners and one for more advanced people. I lost 10 kgs doing two workouts a day (30 mins), six days a week.

  • julia please help! i am petite, and i swim intensely 5 days a week. i have a thin arms and a toned stomach, but my thighs are quite large due to all the muscle! is there any way that i could thin them out?

    Thanks :)

  • P.s. Julia...i love your videos. Youre awesome.

  • TheKrystahlPhoenix.................STOP trolling!!!!!! You obviously have time to sit on YouTube and agrue with strangers...you could go for a walk instead and reflect on being neggy.

  • OMG! When I drink alcohol the next day Im 4lbs less!! I think is just my body is crazy...

  • Great tips!

  • go ice skating!! x

  • Any tips for arms? I've lost loads of weight and my arms need help.

    Keep it up,you look fabulous!

  • @ImmaStar2008 Try to do some weight training on your arms. But you can use your body weight if you don't have a gym. Push ups, chin-ups, etc. Some DVDs focus especially on arms, I find that very helpful. My arms were one of my problem areas too but overall weightloss + strength training worked!

  • @MissChievous Thanks for replying :).I will definitely try some DVDs and just plain old push ups. Weightloss for me is quite easy(I don't want to put it out there),but its the strength training and toning that are so much work for me.

  • I love your videos!!! I've got a question: ¿what do you think about drinking diet coke once a day?

  • @LorenaMartos Well, the artificial sweetener is not so great for you long term, but I'd be lying if I said I never drink Coke Zero.

  • @LorenaMartos diet sodas are good short term, but long term its not too good because the 0 cal sweetener is actually sweeter than normal sugars, so you crave more sweeter and sugary foods more often

  • how do u find time to workout everyday?? do u do it in the morning? and how long is it for each day?? really curious coz i really want to take a cue from you.

  • I just subscribed to you because you're just so freaking real

  • I think it's okay to allow yourself to indulge without thinking too much during the holidays. One or two big meals won't make you gain 20 pounds, especially if you get back to eating normal meals right away. I'm not saying you should pig out non stop for two weeks, but the constant control, the constant guilt at the back of you head when you eat something "bad", a crazy workout routine and forcing yourself to do it everyday... it's not something that can last in a normal life, I hope you realiz

  • I think everything in moderation is a good rule of thumb. Ima get my drink on during the holidays, ima drink my starbucks holiday drinks here and there and ima eat my heart out. But i'll makeup by working out and detoxing via EXTREMELY healthy diet after the holidays... That's balancing out as well i believe...

  • thanks helped alot

    (common sense)!!!!

  • Hallo Julia du siehst so verdammt gut aus in dem Video!!!Lg aus Berlin

  • Actually that is not true it recommended to do 30- 60 mins if exercise every day..you should rest your muscles by working on different parts of your body different days but you should try and exercise most days of the week don't let that confuse you:)

  • It is not recommended to workout 6 days a week. You need to let your muscles relax and recover between workouts, therefore it is only recommeneded 3 days a week. Or Mon, Wed, and Fri

  • @TheKrystahlPhoenix lol not sure where you got that from but nope, you can definitely do more workouts than 3 times a week. If that's what you do fine, but it's not "recommended". For example, athletes work out a lot more to get their body into top form. You can work with different areas of your body, and cardio is something that you can really do all the time because it works your heart.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheKrystahlPhoenix

@MissChievous is right... but I think I know where you got this idea: It's recommended to exercise AT LEAST 3 times a week. And they recommend at least one day off a week, as even athletes allow themselves a day of rest, except right before a competition. So that would mean that the recommendation is actually to exercice 3-6 times a week (based on a personal training/athletic nutrition course I took)....

    Hope this helps! :)

  • @TheKrystahlPhoenix That's not accurate, actually. You need at least 30 mins of physical activity or exercise *daily* to maintain a healthy body. More if you are trying to lose weight.

  • I noticed on your calendar of workout stuff, that it says 12am. Do you do your workouts at midnight, or noon? (and before anyone starts slamming me here, sometimes 12 am to me is confusing. so...back off)

    Thanks.

  • your workout would seriously kill me.

  • Your comment about how: "meeting your friends to go drinking or whatever, instead suggest something else." had me thinking. Yeah you could do that, except holidays are once a year. Do the alternative with your friends, the other 364 days. Allow yourself to be indulgent. If you restrict your holiday consumption too much, then you're never gonna look forward to the holidays. Because it'll be like: "Oh crap, how many drinks did I have? Wait, how many calories were in that cup of starbucks?" etc....

  • @TheKrystahlPhoenix totally agree.

  • @TheKrystahlPhoenix It's very easy to fall into unhealthy eating habits if you don't maintain some self control. She did say that it's okay to indulge, but in moderation. She still allows herself to eat rich foods once in a while, but in moderation. She doesn't deprive herself. Healthy eating is all about balance.

  • Starbucks....hmmmm.....Scalding hot, bitter flavored, cardboard. No thanks. I'll stick to my Folger's Columbian blend coffee anyday.

  • Thanks for this vid, and might I just say your eyebrows look wonderful!

  • I love the way you speak, and I love these weight-oriented videos. :)

  • Usually all I ever drink is water and jasmine tea - I love it. However, I do have a weakness for those Starbucks/Costa festive coffee/hot chocolates. I swear they lace those with crack cocaine.

  • just came across your channel, going to check out the rest of your videos...Merry Christmas! Fonda

  • You look so good:) Great video. Thanks for sharing. Have a wonderful Christmas.

  • Please do a tutorial on your look? Xx

  • would drinking juice nectar be basically the same as drinking juice from concentrate?

  • @SpringsInSummer Yup, in some cases even worse because nectar is loaded with so much sugar whereas juice is watered down with water if it's from concentrate. Nectar tastes amazing but it's probably the same as drinking a Coke (sugar wise). Check the nutrition label.

  • your beautyfull!

  • wow you look AMAZING! last time i watched a video by you compared to now is just...WOW! great job! kudos to the girls who work hard to stay healthy and don't simply starve themselves :)

  • thank you for being so inspiring to all of us! To see the progress you've made is amazing! Keep up the fantastic work!

  • love these videos plz do more :)

and if you don't mind I'd love to see you vloging and do random videos :D

  • I love your videos. I have to get this out and it seem to be helping to talk about it. I was bullied out of a job. I work for everest college milw. 5 students didnt like the way i looked,so they got together and to my boss i was a racist. I'm a strong person and everybody keeps telling me to get over it but i cant. i feel like ending it all. help me.

  • @trecema100 i couldnt go on with my day if i left you with no reply. please don't end it all. ending it all just because someone else has their own problems, even if those problems have affected you is never good. you have said you are a strong person so there must have been a situation that you've already over come that has led you to believe this. getting over it esp when its bullying takes time. try to find something that makes you happy a song/movie/scent/photo/memory/ ect and hold on tight

  • Hey Julia! It's really hot right now in Brazil, and I'm strugling w/ the hot weather and the sun, long walks and alikes are out of question for now. I quit the gym 2 months ago, but I do dance lessons 3x week - I won't have it for 3 weeks now. so I'm sort of freaked out. I've been working hard for 1 year to loose weight and lost 23,7kg so far. Anyways, I was wondering if you have any issues with exercising on hot weather and any tips on that subject. Keep up the good work! Merry Christmas :)

  • PLEASE DO A REVIEW ON BH COSMETICS GEL EYELINER!!

  • @singingbirds98 PLEASE POST COMMENTS THAT ACTUALLY RELATE TO THE VIDEO YOU'RE WATCHING

  • I drink water and only water everyday. I only have milk/tea in the morning because it is breakfast.

  • dein plan in der küche sieht aus wie mein klausurplan in der schule -.-'

  • You have great workout tips. I stay in shape by reading nutrition labels and making healthier eating choices. I mostly drink water, plain tea and coffee.

  • @lilhiphopgirl101 Yeah. I love plain chamomile tea and water.

  • I'm the opposite, I'm trying to GAIN weight :(

  • Do you shower in the morning or at night?

  • Great tips, this season can be stressful with all the junk food overload.... I step it up in the gym for sure. Thanks for your tips hun! :)

  • Awesome tips! Thanks!

  • I've been on a diet for a little over a month & I've lost 10 pounds. I'm trying to lose it slow because I don't want to just gain it back. & I workout for an hour and 30 minutes almost everyday. Im only 14 and all my other friends are pretty & sooo skinny but they eat horrible & it's really hard to eat with them.

  • Julia...I really need to lose weight but I can't move. I get really tired, and I'm extremely lazy. I always feel fatigued. I get exhausted after a 2 minutes walk, and I'm a teenager. What can I do?

    P.S I'm so happy you're on Tumblr!

  • @AmGrau Keep going! I always felt fatigued too, it's a vicious circle you're stuck in. The less exercise your body is used to doing, the more tired you feel. Eating a balanced diet heavy on vegetables and greens, and regular exercise will turn that completely around. You may wand to get a check up with your doctor also to see if you are anemic or missing essential nutrients.

  • @AmGrau - Do you maybe have other known/unknown health issues..like anemia or vitamin/mineral deficiencies? If you do, you'll have to start dealing with those before you start exercising regularly. Start by going to the doctors and get a blood-test done, ask the doctor to check for deficiencies and anemia. Meanwhile, start on really simple exercising like walking. One thing that worked great for me was that I took up photography as a hobby and just walked around after dawn to take pics.

  • @AmGrau maybe you have hypothyroid visit your doctor for checkup :)

  • I'm doing the Insanity workout too!!! i've been doing it for a month (next week is the recovery week) I think it is pretty amazing, not just for the results (that i'm actually starting to see) but for how it makes me feel. It has changed my mind. Although it is really hard sometimes!!! Like: i think i'm gonna die! I'm happy to know that you're doing it to! We can do it!!!! Dig deeper!!

  • @lianne116 Haha yeah I know what you mean! It's great though.

  • girl, you look amazing! good job :)

  • Thank u so much that was gr8 help 😘

  • u are looking better and better in each video. gorgeous :)

  • Nice video. I decided to lose weight and I've managed to lose 9 lbs in the last 11 days. I'm not even starving myself. I'm shocked how quick it's coming off! :)

  • Deine Tipps in diesem Video sind wirklich sehr hilfreich :) und man kann es einfach umsetzen. so viele Diäten sind einfach nicht alltagstauglich

  • @graciemelody hi. I'm 5'2" and I weigh 100 lb. You are def not fat. Everyone comments on. How skinny I am. Be comfortable with yourself no matter how much you weigh(: you're beautiful.

  • I don't eat sweets (includes coke, refrigerants etc) since September, it's not like I was fat but I had quite a belly, well I regained my waist and my belly is almost gone. Also my chronic gastritis is much better. My eating habits were never terrible but now I'm eating even more healthy and I don't understand how people keep falling into temptation specially after getting results. Btw when I feel like I need a sweet I eat a piece of chocolate which isn't even often.

  • you look beautiful :)

  • Thank you for your great tips :) the schedule idea is awesome!

  • Thanks for all the tips! I love this kind of videos, please keep us updated. I discovered Insanity beause of you. I don't do it everyday since I work from 9am till 8 pm. So what I do is: Cycle (interval traning) 30 min from Monday to Wednesday after work and Insanity on Saturday and Sunday. Besides I'm following the Vegan diet since 4 month ago.

  • I never really liked any of the Christmas foods, drink or even scents and decorations... I always stress out what to get everyone... Not my favorite time of the year... Call me grinch ;-)

  • Know what? I agree on the alcohol thing, the cookie thing and the exercise part but livin' followin' calories and always countin' - WTF! When are you supposed eat super calorical greasy food ? Never? come on! EAT PEOPLE and think about the ones who have nohing to eat, instead.

  • @093LadyC You're not suppose to eat super "calorical" greasy food. That is what kills people. And maybe you should feed the poor instead of thinking about them when you eat junk food.

  • You should do a meetup in Vancouver! :D
