  • I love Goldsmith's First Contact theme

  • In the novel series "Star Trek Destiny" the Borg invaded the Alpha Quadrant with 7000 Cubes, killed 63 Billion people and destroyed 40 percent of Starfleet ... i call THAT an invasion, best thing: the Borg went to destroying humanity instead of assimilating it^^

  • FFS! If I was the Borg I'd bloody well send a fleet of 10,000 tactical cubes to assimilate Earth ;D

  • enterprise E is quite capable of masking its self and hiding from what they would deem a 3oo year old vulcon servay vessel wouldnt you think? and they could have been in a low polar orbit as well.

  • They could only dectect the warp signature and I don't think the Enterprise E went to warp.

  • if the borg prevented first contact then they would have made humanity too simple to want to assimilate in the first place. they wouldn't have that sassy technology that drew them to be targets of assimilation. also why did they only send one cube the 2nd time given their failure the first time, kinda stupid.

  • @DarthSheen I believe that the Borg are arrogant in sending in one cube. They think that they are powerful enough to destroy the Federation fleet with it alone had Picard not intervened. Also, when the Queen dealt with Picard whilst he was Locutus, she no longer was interested in humanity's technology, but rather their spirit, will, and determination.

  • @DarthSheen

    borg = idiots lol

  • @DarthSheen

    its the only explanation

  • @DarthSheen You weren't listening to this segment of the video. The purpose was to keep humans from developing warp drive and first contact with the Vulcans so that they would not form Starfleet. And I would speculate that sending one cube was part of their plan because knowing Starfleet and their policies, after the fighting ship has been destroyed, Starfleet probably wouldn't bother with a retreating scout ship, and how much ship would the Borg need on Earth in 2063?

  • Wouldn't the Vulcans have discovered the Enterprise E if they saw the Phoenix though?

  • im sure the tech from the time that the "e" is from would be more advanced from anything from that year and so it would i think make it easier to mask it.

  • I seriously doubt that theory, after all, the Vulcans were quite advanced, and they had eyes.

  • well, i guess we better hunt down the writer and question him.

  • Well, he probably never though of it...

  • The Enterprise could have been hiding on the other side of the planet while the Vulcan ship approached Earth and only came into range just long enough to beam them off and quickly get out.

  • The Vulcans saw the Phoenix in warp. The Emterprise E was only there to see it off

  • Yay! "First Contact" is my favorite "Star Trek" movie. ^^ Thanks a lot for spoting these clips.

  • SAME!!!

  • FC Rocks!
