i do history as a subject and its sad to see that so many people lost their lives on this day. we can clearly see that these people were unarmed and that the protest was non violent. this shows that the police could not control the crowd therefore they had to open fire which also shows that they were not properly trained
When 20 000 aggresive individuals start facing of against 150 individuals and start attacking them with stones shooting back is called self defense.
Once they attacked the terrified police youngsters they set the stage for any number of events. They could have stormed the police and torn them limb from limb. They could have produced firearms and shot the police and if Africa's child soldiers are anything to go by this was a possibility.

If an individual travels to another country he is expected to carry his PASSPORT with him so that when asked by local police/authorities he can show that he is legally there.
The blacks in these areas expected to carry passbooks because they came from the Tribal Homelands and the kids parents worked in South Africa.
If you want to attack the police because they expect you to follow the law, expect to be shot at.
