Well, I did it. I used some synthetic hair I had around here and made a few locks to use in a new clients hair. I am so excited... because it looks great. Takes a little time though. So do a bunch of them in advance.
i would look on ebay.. i think they discontiued this model. and yea i cut that end part off.. but some people keep twisting and steaming till there is nothing.
i would not say to use the steamer on your natural dreads.. some people use flat irons or blow dryers as a heat source to get the wax to set in a bit..
some times you should double seal it.. like let it cool then come back and twist it some more.. some people use a bit of glue at the ends..and some people use stitches..
I know of some folks who have used flatirons to seal.. but you gotta be careful it does change the outer texture of the dread to crispy kind of... and it can change the color on lighter color dreads.
Hi, I just bought this steamer and was wondering how long it takes for it to be ready to use? Cuz I just bought this same one and I think it may be broken. I put the water and plugged it in for about a hour and nothing has happened? Am I doing something wrong?
do u put anything in thm to stay or it is just steamed and if u do put somthing in them can that ever melt off into the person hair and fuck up there air just wondering cuz i should be getting mind soon
there is no glue used -the steam manipulates the synthetic fibers to merge and stay put. but over time and rolling on them more steam and twisting may be needed. I know of some people also use wax on the synthetic ends just like the normal wax one would use for natural dreads and it kinda holds the fuzzy bits down.
Its pretty sweet and simple, LOL! I have dreads but I cant get them 2 lock at all, They just wont lock? LOL! They have been backcombed over and over again and also I keep wax in them but it still doesnt seem 2 work? U seem 2 know alot about dreadin, what do u think I should do? Do U think that if I steam them the way u are doin here, will it stay locked then? Please let me know ASAP!
This video made me feel like I was high....

oh my...
if only i had a steamer...
i tried boiling water and they all came out kinda poofy...
do you think a flat iron will work (i'm not saying flattening it, just holding the flat iron over the dread)???
