Brilliant. Thanks for posting this. I never thought I'd ever hear something as beautifully close to the ISB as this. Its in the same place and wonderful.
hmmmm.....very strange indeed! cosmic in a down-to-earth stylee! folky & light yet it operates on another deeper plane.........................yes very very strange......?
I heard this song on Paul Morley's BBC radio documentary about 'freak folk' and was immediately fascinated. Folk can be so heavy and serious, but this is as light as a butterfly and just as beautiful. Everyone with an acoustic bent take note of the the stranglely inspirational Doctor.
Anyone enlighten me please as to the name of a compilation album they were on in the early 70's i remember it included Blodwyn pig, spooky tooth , quintessence etc ?
Very late 60s and hippie. I first encountered it on an Island records sampler called, 'Nice enough to Eat,' spelt out on the cover with biscuits. It harks back to a gentler time of endless summers and parties and no material concerns.
@LowStackTom Yeah...that person took full advantage of me being a liberal and believing that everyone is entitled to their own thoughts. He's wrong in his thoughts, but they are his, so he can have them and post them. I'm glad you asked what he said, maybe by posting the translation people will stand up in defense for this wonderful and very talented band. Peace!
I was born in 1943 the period hippie, I know well. I find this song very ugly and extraordinarily AMATEUR. The singer has a voice atrocious and completely, it seems a kid 20.La ascent of the votes in screaming with this pace of spoons excruciating is downright unbearable. The "balance" is bad, the flute very, very amateur also. I am amazed that a product as pressure has been able exit on the market!
Ye Gods! Had so forgotten this! Nice Enough To Eat inspired me to become a rock star (?)

In the immortal words of The Dude... "Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man." Peace!
(If you're not familiar with 'The Dude' he's a character that Jeff Bridges portrays in "The Big Lebowski")
