@AGirlsGottaSpa I have very thick hair and I am going to cut it short on the sides leaving length on top, between the fiber and the clay which would you recommend? I am going for a neat 50s sort of look (trying not to have too much shine)
@UnlimitedHPTV if you want a neater look without to much shine (it says medium shine on the can) go for the forming cream depending on how much you use you can have an almost matte look to a medium shine, and has a lot of hold
That was a fantastic review! I'm trying to do a "whole new look" thing and was just on Amazon trying to find the best stuff to use. The reviews there left me less than satisfied, but you went in depth to every product I was looking at! 5 stars!
I tried the A/C molding clay. I didnt like because the hold wasn't good and was hard to wash out. I accidently picked up the A/C Classic Wax (has same sticker color as Molding clay) on it. The Wax is a really good product (really good smell/good hold). My favorite A/C products would be the Wax or the Grooming Cream.
@frankconjr listen, everybody's taste is so different...and as long as you find a product that works well with your hair--mine is curly, wavy, and thick--then you have a head start! I wish you many good hair days!
@nando1635 thanks for your reply. I've been using Joico Ice Spiker. It has a really good hold, easy to spike up hairs that I want spiked up, water resistant, and is easy to wash out.
@nando1635 Cool reviews... I'm looking for a conditioner that I can use to comb my hair BACK like a rockabilly and I want that greasy look with a great smell to it.. would you recommend their leave in conditioner? Can you recommend anything to me???? My hair is dry and frizzes like 5 minutes after I get out of the shower.
@oblivion292 no if u have dry hair get a moisturizer shampoo then use a pomade to style ur hair go with an axe product since those will make ur hair look greasy almost wet hair
You can get the same result with the generic brand sold by Sally Beauty Supply. Their version of the Fiber Cream is the American Classic Molding Cream. It works just the same and is half the price. It costs about $8 a can and American Crew is around $16-$18 depending where you buy it.
The forming cream is also a really good product. Im currently using forming cream due to fact that you can apply to either wet or dry hair, (dont have to apply right after getting out of shower like with the Fiber), smells really good, and you can use it to touch up your hair anytime. Forming cream gives hair a good shine and a "clean" feel.
American Crew Fiber is a really good product. It doesnt make your hair look too shiny, gives your hair a natural look plus it has a good smell to it. I thought about trying the molding clay also.
if my hair is naturally straight (asian) and about 1.5 -2 inches long, would the molding clay or fiber be better for my hair? i like to style my hair into a faux hawk, but ive been using got2b glue and i think it is time for a change. i would like a product that will shape my hair and keep a strong hold, but not make my hair ridiculously shiny. thanks for your help!
@jloubabyboyblue hi, I think fiber would be better for your hair--especially if you have that awesome THICK hair--since you described it as straight & asian! ;0) This will give you that faux hawk ability.
@nando1635 I make faux hawks as well and I think I'll try the fibre one too. I recently picked up the new Axe charged spike up putty and its HORRIBLE. NO hold whatsoever. I had a feeling it would be shit, I don't trust axe at all. Definitely gonna try the crew fibre!
@lolakod maybe you and I have different hair--I have to wash it out daily--other products, I can leave in and "build" that bed head look. it makes my hair oily if not washed out by the next day.
@Jnvrock66 the product itself is NOT oily--if not washed out--it makes my hair oily the next day--because I don't wash my hair daily. I don't shampoo daily.
Aubrey shampoo much much super better I tried recovery it compares nothing to Aubrey shampoo for men.

I wonder what do you think about the Pomade.
I am going to pick up the fiber. I heard good stuff about it. Looks like a tough version of mousse. I hope it isn't oily as the pomade.

fiber is NOT OILY i can say that
