  • good technigue, but a wrestler will cross face you and stop the tech. Will work if no cross facing allowed.

  • @mdriddler

Thats why he overhooks the lat muscle. It stops the cross face.

  • I try this one alot, and I've found out that you gotta put some muscle behind it. And of course, timing. Then it usually works

  • Your version of the technique can be easily countered if the guy on top knows how to use his weight, you need to try to posture up as much as possible while in the octopus position then from there work your escapes.

  • prepare to get your wrist broken. thats wristlock city. Not to mention the other arm attacks and the twister transition as already mentioned. very unreliable and unrealstic escape.

  • Why would anyone on top just let themselves be trapped like that? All you have to do is push up and over. I don't think someone on top would be so willing unless they are a beginner. Looks like an MMA move not really a BJJ move.

  • Ive tried this one many times, though with limited success.

  • Looks pretty complicated to pull off. Wouldn't the person on top be scrambling to maintain side control in the middle of your technique? Also if both your arms are behind your opponent could he not easily transition to twister side control? That is just my take on it. Who knows though, any technique is possible if used at the right time.

  • exactly !!!

with a compliant, non-moving opponent, you can do ANYTHING !!!

  • Uhm that would "only" work if the person on top has a ridiculous position. His weight is way too far over to the person on the bottoms left. Plus the top person doesn't have his left arm around bottom persons head.

This one is just too situational :O. If your opponent has a crappy side mount you will be able to get out of it in a billion other ways too =D.

  • awesome move. as a note...

anytime you can get behind his arm (in any position)is a great time to work towards the rear mount!

  • good stuff .....
