Anette does amazing job!! I prefer this version, Anettes, I like both, but Anette brings a new feel to the song, makes it alive, different way. And ofcourse she brings totally new feel to the band, which I like very much, new nightwish rocks as hell! as did the old one also ;). Guys, you can't compare Anette with Tarja. Tarja was like and opera singer. Yeah the old Songs doseen't sound so good if Anette sings them, but it's because she can't get so hing with her voice. DPP was written dor Tarja (as far as I know). imagenaerum is written for Anette so it's mort "fittable" fpr her voice

She looks like "Wow, I did it!" at the end!!! I think she's great in this one and I believe that she should pick some specific songs (like this one) from the old albums and work on them. Nothing's impossible. I mean we have to admit her voice is great but there can be A LOT of improvement.

I've been through every phase posible as a nightwish fan, i've been the type of fan that likes both vocalists, the type of fan that falls in love with Toumas and considers him the center of Nightwish, i've been a Tarja fangirl, and there was a point that i liked Anette more than Tarja. I was really into Tarja, more as a fangirl, in the past months, but I don't know why i stumbled upon this song with Anette on vocals and i fell in love with it, she's amazing.
i cant deal with a mistake that nightwish has made, ok they might have disliked tarja but why a pop singer?? why not someone at least in some sort like tarja? I quite like this version. I've got a deep singing voice so I've always struggled to sing with Tarja but now that I hear Anette singing this, I can so lower my voice to match it now. Thumbs up for Anette but I do feel sorry for the fans who prefered Tarja

There lyrics that, definitely, in anette's voice, are disastrous. Dark Chest of Wonders, Wishmaster and Sacrament of Wilderness, for example. There are not hate or favouritism in my comment. It's not a personal remark. Its evident.

Annette isn't a bad singer. but nightwish songs requires a voice more lyric, more "soprano", like tarja or simone simons and others for example. Tuomas was unhappy when choose a kinda voice that no match with your compositions. just it.
@Mozart1983 Tuomas was unhappy with the classical voice, he wanted a different one. And all of Nightwish did, Jukka said so as well when they announced what kind of voice they were looking for.

She has a great voice, but she doesn't sound good in Nightwish's songs. Anette has a voice for gothic metal bands, or other kinds of metal isn't epic (as nightwish is)... Nightwish needs a singer in the same voice register than Tarja's own. In "Dark chest of wonder" Anette sounds like "Alvin the Squirrel" singing in Pirates of the Caribean :P XD Arrrgh...

@pepparmostheelder I'm with you 100%. Nightwish still makes some of the best music to found today, it's just now there's less focus on the vocals, and it's been that way for a while, even on Once. If you notice, Once is not very operatic like Wishmaster or Oceanborn, and there's a much heavier focus on orchestrals. The orchestrals are even more prominent (not to mention incredible) on DPP. I do wish they would stop playing their pre-Once songs, because Anette just can't sing them.

@iluvme4never Yeah, her Swedish accent can make her sound kind of nasally. Just like Tarja's VERY heavy Finnish accent causes here to over-exaggerate her "r's". Also while Anette is a soprano, it is more than likely that Tarja falls within the mezzo-soprano range, maker her voice slightly deeper.

i cant deal with a mistake that nightwish has made, ok they might have disliked tarja but why a pop singer?? why not someone at least in some sort like tarja? I quite like this version. I've got a deep singing voice so I've always struggled to sing with Tarja but now that I hear Anette singing this, I can so lower my voice to match it now. Thumbs up for Anette but I do feel sorry for the fans who prefered Tarja

I have no intention to insult Anette but I perfectly understand the complaining. Nightwish was a dream band, the perfect band. Now they lost their magic. It´s hard to listen when they play old songs. It seems they´re dammaged. They shold only play new songs, songs Anette can sing.

There lyrics that, definitely, in anette's voice, are disastrous. Dark Chest of Wonders, Wishmaster and Sacrament of Wilderness, for example. There are not hate or favouritism in my comment. It's not a personal remark. Its evident.

Annette isn't a bad singer. but nightwish songs requires a voice more lyric, more "soprano", like tarja or simone simons and others for example. Tuomas was unhappy when choose a kinda voice that no match with your compositions. just it.

She has a great voice, but she doesn't sound good in Nightwish's songs. Anette has a voice for gothic metal bands, or other kinds of metal isn't epic (as nightwish is)... Nightwish needs a singer in the same voice register than Tarja's own. In "Dark chest of wonder" Anette sounds like "Alvin the Squirrel" singing in Pirates of the Caribean :P XD Arrrgh...

it just sounds weak-ass to me.
The rest is epic though.
But still, the intro ruined it all x(
plus, anette should stop yelling and just put more volume into her voice but I guess she will learn that.

@BakaPomponOneesan I think NW was something different before Anette, but I still think NW fucking rocks, so I dont mind Anette. And since the band obviusly had their reasons for choosing her amound hundreds and kicking Tarja, I still support the band :)

@pepparmostheelder I'm with you 100%. Nightwish still makes some of the best music to found today, it's just now there's less focus on the vocals, and it's been that way for a while, even on Once. If you notice, Once is not very operatic like Wishmaster or Oceanborn, and there's a much heavier focus on orchestrals. The orchestrals are even more prominent (not to mention incredible) on DPP. I do wish they would stop playing their pre-Once songs, because Anette just can't sing them.

Man there is no comparison between this version of the song and the one from night wish's last concert before they parted from Tarja... That one was like WOW!... this one's meh. Still Anette did a pretty good job here. Those are some really big shoes she had to fill...

I take it you mean she "CAN" do HEP HEP HEP. She obviously does it a lot. In fact, she does it in just about every song she has problems with, which is pretty much all of them.
They should change the name of the band to HEPWish.

i honestly prefer tarja singing this song... it just doesn't fit anette's vocal range. however, i really do like all of the songs that were written for her voice.

@iluvme4never Yeah, her Swedish accent can make her sound kind of nasally. Just like Tarja's VERY heavy Finnish accent causes here to over-exaggerate her "r's". Also while Anette is a soprano, it is more than likely that Tarja falls within the mezzo-soprano range, maker her voice slightly deeper.
