Look, everybody creates their own playing style. I'm just saying what they teach you at the very beginning of every music school. Hendrix was mostly self taught and left handed, so he developed a playing style most suitable for him.
great, thats all i needed to know right there, thanks :) I just play this with my dad, he plays those chords and I play the mandolin part on my guitar, (try looking at a tab once in a while people)
@Martinni2 That's just the way he is holding his guitar, if you check his thumb, you will see that he holds it like that most of the time. Also, if you look at the part where you can see his right hand, you can see he is just picking the first four strings. Besides, you shouldn't use your thumb for holding chords.

@Martinni2 erm its actually just F major, if it was a Fmaj7 then he would play the open high E because it is the 7th note in the f major key :)
