Supposedly, onliners will have field trips four times a year with other online students. In time, we shall see how successful this will be?

If a private school only accepts members of a certain faith, then yes, you have to change to get in.
The Constitution is hardly a case here, these students skipped class to protest, by law they have to attend school.
Just because it is "freedom of speech" doesn't mean you can speak about whatever you want, threats do not apply under freedom of speech.

the full story MAC in VANCOUVER,WASINGTON USA NOT canada got a dress code trying to keep us away from gangs and crap but the colors are blue,white,red,gray and black and if you know this neighborhood those are gang colors so some kids deicded to protest and got arrested we still have this dress code 2day we still protest sometimes just not as big as this oh and all you idiots that say we dont have rights are stupid and should just shut up please and thank you:)

the dress code was only wear red, white, black, & gray top. bottoms are jeans, black, or tan.

okay, that's not even how it was. I was there, at the protest, and my big brother was one of the 4 "arrested" but the news make it sound like they are the victims. Teachers at McLoughlin Middle School are dicks, and the dress code there is SO gay:/

students do have rights and can contacted the ACLJ (American Civil Liberties for Justice). for the person who commented that more of this to come with MCCAIN is so wrong. It is the liberal Democrats who are taking our rights away, from taking God out of the constitution, to allowing Muslim prayer in the schools but no one else is allowed to legally pray. My daughter was sen home for wearing orange for Halloween due to halloween costume restrictions. NJ Democrats took that away too.

when I was in the public schools years ago there was a dress code. In fact you couldn't even have your shirt tails out...your shirt had to be tucked in and you were not allowed to have long hair. In fact when my brother went to college....Wentworth Institute in Boston, they would measure your side burns with a ruler, if they were below a certain length you had to trim them or get out. Needless to say no beards were allowed. People do not realize that dress codes are not anything new.

note: you are NOT protected....you can't vote, can't drive a car, can't enter into a legal contract, you can't own a gun, can't get married, minors have very little rights under the law. Where the hell does it say in the constitution that minors have any rights at all. In the constitution they speak specifically of "men" not children.

people have to remember...if you are still a minor, you have to conform to certain rules. I know at that age youth thinks the entire world evolves around them. Try going out in "the real world" dressing like a some freaky retard and see if you can get a job. WTF. arresting them is aganist the 1st amendment. i have been wearing uniform since kindergarten to 8th grade, now that i'm a freshman at dr.krop,NO UNIFORM!!!!:)but i have to wear ID cards around my neck if i don't i get CSI and don't go to my classes, resulting in 2 f's on the report card for every class i miss, so unfair:(
