Yes you can get similar sound of a GT. i've had this exact system in my 03 cobra, 01 GT, 01 Cobra, 05 GT & now on this 97 and they all have similar tone, the X pipe sound, i just simply love it, drive it on low rpms low and quiet, then after a certain rpm (each Car varies) the tone changes to high pitch. On V8 mustang its sounds badass, i've had good compliments on all the cars i've done this exhaust system.

If you look at my videos I have a similar set up on my 01 gt, but instead of an x pipe i have a mac off road prochamber H pipe.

@sk8salot88 Cobra's tend to have a different sound than GT's because of the added valves but you should get a great sound none the less. I haven't heard an aftermarket exhaust on ANY V8 Stang I dont like

You can get a mac X pipe for like $180. And the 1 chamber flowmasters for about $100 each. Mac x pipe is a bolt on, so you can do it yourself & its about $60 to get the mufflers welded. So total about $450.

with an x pipe it does get extremely loud. but since u dont have one you will be ok. These 1 chambers sound amazing, im sure you will love them.

I don't have cats on mine right now, would you reccommend getting the 1 chambers? And are yours the really short mufflers or are they the longer 1 chambers?

If you keep you're cats they aren't that loud, but they do have an aggressive & much nicer tone than a 2 chambers.
