  • what kills me is that the guy who plays King Herod played Aberforth Dumbledore (Professor Dumbledore's brother) in the Harry Potter series. He's from northern Ireland, yet here he can totally pass for a Jewish king. That's some fine acting there :)

  • My name means holder of Christ :)

  • Jesus is a black man. stop acting movies of him being white.

  • @TheDavidedmond Jesus was of judeo-israelite/Hebrew (Semitic) stock, just as nowadays jordanians, syrians, majority of iraqis and people who are natives of Mesopotamia. Are they black? I dont think so, so u better think twice. Jesus was probably of medeterrenian race, oliveskinned and black hair... just like arabs and their semitic relatives.

  • i've never seen this movie before now. i like it :) i didnt know Shoreh Aghdashloo was in this film ^_^ another great Nativity movie is the first part of the 1977 Anglo-Italian film Jesus of Nazareth. i like how the actors have Hebrew/Middle Eastern accents, gives it an authentic feel :)

  • If anybody would like to know her age she was 14 I learnt this from a priest and some books

  • O Come O Come Emanuel

  • wow. ineresting, i never knew all this stuff

  • This came out in '06!? wow! i thought it was later

  • whats the song at the beginning?

  • @fallup101: Veni veni Emanuel (That's my name btw :-)

  • @fallup101 Oh Come Oh Emmanuel!!!

  • I just LOVE the soudtrack for this movie! It sends chills down my spine~!

  • i really love how realistic this is :) i'm constantly forgetting that Mary was really only a couple years older than me when she gave birth to Jesus

  • @XsilverxxroseX ... How old was she when she gave birth to Jesus? I was never told about it in Primary.

  • @threetailedfox1 approximately 15 or 16 but back then that was pretty normal

  • @XsilverxxroseX Because of the life expectancy at that time.

  • I like that they cast non-white actors in this. It's more accurate. I remember watching a version of the Nativity last year on the CBC and all the actors were white and Mary had an English accent. It was hilariously awful.

  • @FlowerChild65 Actually some of them have spray on tans.. Lol :P

  • This is the perfect movie to watch every Christmas. :)

  • I'm really glad that I have watched this movie. It makes me believe the story more. Now I really can imagine what it was like when someone tells me the story from the Bible.

  • This is such a beautiful, touching movie! <3

  • @tandran12 in those days the life expectancy was shorter so a teenage mom was the same thing as a 30 year old mom. Cool analogy btw.

  • @Neku628 : You can buy the dvd at any christan book store and never have to miss it! watch it whenever!

  • I remember watching this movie. I really liked it and I miss it.

  • the amazing thing is that mary show sus that a teenage mom can also be a great mother just like a 30 year old women is

  • and the wise men most likely didn't see Jesus until he was about 2. Cause king Herod ordered for the murdering of all male boys 2 and older. Shortly after the wise men talked to him and left

  • Ya weird to think that Mary was about 14 or so. And Jesus was most likely born in a cave. Very well done. It would of been awesome, I know its fiction, but if they added the little drummer boy.

  • it does. it really does

  • This movie shows how young Mary really was when this happened. It is amazing. Thank you for posting this!!!

  • @electragoob She actually may very well be as young as 12, not that anybody knows for sure, but here she passes for about 16, I can accept that.
