  • you are the best Rusty!!

  • You have to keep in mind that Rusty’s fret board legato fingering is just as fast as his picking and is pretty much in synch. It could be country, jazz, blue grass or what ever; this guy is very clean and fast!

  • why do you use your pinky no matter where you are on the fret board?

  • I too would like to thank you Rusty, i had recently starting doing this but with 4 note movements, to Gary Moore none the less, never contemplated using it like this, gonna have to buy the DVD man awesome thanks again from Scotland =]

  • Thanks dude! After I watched this video, I realized how to move these major shapes up the fretboard like it's nothing. Now I can finally shred with something other than pentatonic scales. haha. \m/

  • GIVE'ER THE OLE RUSTY COOLEY!!!!

  • how can one man be so good at legato??? it makes no sence!!

  • 1:44 : lets check it out with the backing track!

    1:47 ok this looks easy

1:50 ok i could do that

    1:53 OH MY GOD!!!!

  • @Zorlak108 Seriously?

  • @Kiejzo well, for a beginner it's hard anyway. maybe not for intermediate to advanced players.

  • Are you tuned down a half step? I noticed on the Locrian pattern you mentioned starting on the 14th fret. I'm playing it on the 13th. Either you're tuned down or I've got old-timers. Great lesson, BTW.

  • @Bifrons Yes, his guitar is tuned a half step down (I tried to play too).

  • Thank you Rusty for opening my mind!

  • hey rusty

    ... r u god?

  • hey rusty

one question: do you pick the descending legato notes?

i always have some problems with descending those notes with legato

    thanks

  • @blackseeds666 legato means that it's (usually) not picked

  • Wow what a cool idea, I've never thought of doing scales strictly without the 7th! it's really cool to have a new octave after every 2 string crosses as a rule using this method.

as a plus it also looks more insane than going up 1,2,3,4,5,6,7. with this 'no 7th' method you shift horizontally on every octave instead of just staying in one position, you also cover a lot more range of notes.

Top stuff Rusty this is a must buy for guitar shred fans!

  • Just ordered the 2 DVDs!

  • I have Level 1 and I love it. I am slow on learning it, but the DVD is helping.

Thanks for all the Help Rusty.

  • man u kickass on guitar !!!

hope to see you just 5 min no 1min in morocco :D

    i love you playing

    Nawfal

  • 2010!

  • @MrRustyCooley so what ?
