Being a kid in a bloke's body, i love watching the Toy Stories series, especially the Airfix episode. James is as British as you can get. What a bloke !
James May is intelligent, interesting, cool, classic old school British eccentric, practical, has a brilliant dry Pythonesque wit, great taste in music, hobbies & shirts but he needs to grow his hair long again like it was during this Toy Stories/mid-late 2000's era Top Gear because as of 2011, he's starting to resemble one of The Wombles. Otherwise HE'S HOT
james may is funny.. and if you think hes boring use your mind and try to learn.. he has a lot of great things to say.. hes just a geniunely great nice guy
james may may be that boring, uptight, serious bloke in top gear but what he does outside top gear just explains how great of a person he is. hes not only fulfilling his own small boy dream but fulfilling everyones small boy dream and hes not afraid to share it with everyone. taking a very basic toy and making it go big. thats just utterly awesome!
This is awesome show and i agree with MushroomMai: "James May fills me with joy. This tv series puts me on the edge of my seat, with excitment, anticipation and inspiration. Rarely do I have happy tears, but each episode of this has made me shed a tear.
James' presenting skills: his enthusiasm, and imagination, is something quite amazing.
No it isn't. Unless your idea of talent and true enthusiasm is staring at a glass screen at a fake world that is spat out in line formation by a computer while you develope bed sores and repetetive strain injury, after which you have no result but a game you will never use again, but replace it with another one with a different setting but the same format.
Tapping some plastic buttons will never match the painstaking, resultive, skill that is applied to wielding a paintbrush.

As somone who used to build Meaccano I found this exciting and dissapointing. At one point May was told that non-Meccano parts would have to be used and he thought this was not acceptable, yet they were used expecially for the critical nuts and bolts which were replaced with high strength items so that his car and the bridge would not fail. With succicient care a true 100% Meccano bridge could have been built - this wasn't one.
i helped build the model railway between barnstaple and bideford with north devon scouts and i co-ordinated the scouts participation in the event. we had loads of fun and cant wait to see the programme!!!
HI there, can anyone post a clip from the airfix episode? ...the bit showing the tanks? it's just that the farm it' set on is the place I spent the forst 20 years of my life on so I'd like a squiz :) Also I/we agree re all the James May comments, he's awesome and alway the one we gun for on TG. Looking forward to seeing this series make it's way to New Zealand but in reality it'l be in about 100 years time!
Im an employee of the company that made the airfix spitfire. Let me know wot u think guys! Our company dont usually make airfix style planes. We build them complete to anyone
I saw the episode yesterday, and to quote Rik Mayal it was "Absolutely utter bloody brilliant mate!"
Out of curiosity, I went to the Dutch Air force museum in Soesterberg earlier this year and they had a full sized plastic spitfire replica there, was it one you guys made?
I think you all did a great job. Some people on a fanforum were worried that you guys might have felt that you were portrayed in a bad light. Hope you didn't feel that way?
James May, just waww. This is going to be beautiful, its so nice that someone is atlast, trying to save the 'child'- children today grow up to quickly... those precious days are lost to technology and early adulthood.
James May, you are amazing. Really, truly amazing. <3
He is, but don't forget all the many people who got involved and displayed their talents such as the garden and the house. Just ashame what happened to the house and the cat. I love a recent interview he did I think in the independent. He said he was sad about it mainly for the people who put all the work into creating building the house. He's such a sweet, down to earth guy.
Oh ofcorse! It wouldn't have been possible without any of the volounteers, it must be wonderful to have seen each project at a finish. It is a shame what happened to the house... Im still pretty bitter about it, eventhough I didn't get the chance to help out in the making- I just think Lego Land could have actually payed up for it.
Do you know if James ever got the lego Fusker back by any chance? :)
I've not heard (read) anything as to if he's been returned, so I'm presuming he's still AWOL. I really wanted to go and help but couldn't get there. I really wanted to go and see it but will still see it when it airs.
It's ashame that Legoland couldn't take it. I'm sure that they have enough money to. They charge enough for entry. Atleast look at it this way though, they're having the bricks, which are being used for building events and it's in aid of charity which is good.
Absolutely loved this trailer and cant wait for the actual series.Any idea what the background music is?James is so gorgeous!(Sigh!)Thanks for posting this video!!

@MushroomMai Absolutely! Such an awe-inspiring undertaking. I'd love to hang around with James.
And it breaks my heart that the show lost out on the TV awards to effin' Master Chef.
