  • I miss Hunts Pier. Sadly missed indeed.

  • Oh, what memories this holds for me. Good times and alot of fun. If I close my eyes I can still hear and smell that distinct smell of Hunts Pier. Hunts Pier... You are sadly missed ♥♥

  • Yo

Karen W. from Maryland do you remember when you took me to Loch Raven Park

your old friend from Maple Ave RF

  • luv those wildwood days

  • 0;25 Real Go-Kartz!

  • ya man i think i might have known tha t chick too

  • I used to have a beautiful blond girl named Janet from Delaware.. I would meet her at Glenwood ave. to get together and hang out in the mid 70s!!!

I haven't been able to find her on people search! Great memories! Back in the day in Wildwood, they didn't call it wild for nothing hehehe!!!

  • This is about as far back as I can remember Wildwood. Good memories! Loved the Gold Mine, Keystone Cops, The Flyer, and what must have been one of the first log flumes. Hunt's was like a mini Disney (which is what Hunt was going for, according to a documentary DVD that was out a few years ago).

  • The Golden Nugget brings back so many great childhood memories. It's so sad that things change to quickly. Not all change is for the better. I'll take Wildwood of the 70s & 80s anyday over what is there now.

  • Sweet! Look at those Go Karts at 0:25!

  • Now Hunt's is Morey's Storage Shed + Go Karts.

  • Yes, and it looks terrible. Hunt's Pier is at the center of the boardwalk, and it should be filled with exciting rides and attractions. Using it for storage just drags down the appearance of the entire boardwalk. If the Moreys don't want to develop it, then they should sell it to another developer who WILL revitalize it.

  • Morey should make it an all thrill pier all roller coasters and haunted attractions and bring back the 2 all time greats updated whacky shack and draculas castle.

  • You got to remember though, it's over 50 years old, it's kind of dangerous to build these heavy rides over an old pier like this,

and even if they did rebuild it, it would be very expensive.

  • Hunt's Golden Era... 1970's..Golden Nugget was the #1 cash cow...Great Ride. It is sad that all good things must end. Thanks for posting this trailor!

  • The Golden Nugget is never coming back. There is a press release at Morey's Pier site about it's removal next year. What are they going to do with all that asbestos? Most of the props and scenery were saved over the past few months, to be reused in Morey's other dark rides. The once great Hunt's Pier will probably never be a true amusement pier again, as long as the Morey's are in charge of it. Except that part of the proposed wood coaster will travel over part of it.

  • actually it is. It got by Knoebells park in Pennsylvania and it is going to be up over there in a few years.

  • woops I mean to say got purchased by

  • The reason the Golden Nuggett remains untouched is because it is filled with asbestos. Shame

  • I loved the Golden Nugget as a kid, bring on the asbestos.

  • That asbestos is probably the only thing protecting the Golden Nugget from one of those "mysterious" Wildwood fires.

  • Whatever happen to Robin from Philly 1970's who work at the Kiddie rides right off the Boards

She use to visit me on maple ave

  • I had a lot og fun hanging at Glenwood ave

YO Skippy B. from Darby and all from Glenwood ave

  • I remember the Orange Sunshine at Wildwood NJ

    1971

  • hehe

  • Wow, I live in Houston Texas...I wish I was there again...they nothing nice here....I miss going to The Castle or just renting a bike in the morning and riding the boards

  • the golden nugget mine ride was one of my favs. been going to ww every summer of my life for the past 40 years...use to work on the boardwalk on morey's at the haunted house in the early 80's. thanks for the memories.

  • That clip brings back great memories...the old boardwalk was the best ever...RIP Hunts and Sportland Pier

  • That was really cool

  • Amazing video! I can't stop watching it!

  • I was there in the early eighties!! Between 1980-1983. The owner, Bud Hunt owned the pier at the time and sold it fall 1985 to a group of investors. In 1989 most of the rides on the left side of the pier were razed. I miss the Whacky Shack dark ride which was built by Bill Tracy in 1963. It was taken down early 1996. I hope the Golden Nugget runs again.

  • Ahh, the memories!

  • Now if you can build me a time machine!!
