Seiken Densetsu 3 is still to this day, in my opinion, the greatest game ever created; it's day of the week system was far ahead of Zelda Ocarina of Time, and it had a great cast of characters; my personal favorites were: Riesz, Hawkeye, Angela and Duran.

Now, if only Square-Enix would get their head out of the gutter and release it world wide; I wouldn't care what console it's released for, I'd happily buy the console just for the game.

I love how they synced the music to the in-game cutscene. It starts sad, as your character contemplates their fate...you've been betrayed, beaten down, mocked and abandoned. Your situation is as hopeless as it can be. And then, at the 0:30 point, your character decides to go on anyway, and the music switches to an epic, heroic theme. One of my favorite pieces of video game music ever.

Hawk, Angela and Riesz/Lise is by far the Best Team - you got a good Attacker that has Spells that damage the Enemies Stats, a Mage with good Spells and another attacker that could raise your Stats or do what Hawk would do.

Ninja Master (Hawk's Dark/Light final class) + Star Lancer (Lise's Light/Dark final class) is indeed an epic combination. Ninja Master provides multi-target elemental damage + debuffs, Star Lancer throws in multi-target buffs AND silence. You can pretty much throw in any third character and it will be awesome.

Want to deal out magical damage? Use Angela.

Want some magical healing? Use Carlie or light Duran/Kevin.

Want to deal physical damage? Use any Duran or Kevin.

I loved the way the 'intro' worked in this game. You had a fully controllable prologue, then the scene that forced your chosen character to leave their home, and then, at the saddest possible moment, the game hits you with this track.

For the record, I always picked Hawk, but Lise was usually a secondary pick.

Another thing: why is this song called "Meridian" Child? I've looked at all the dictionary definitions of the word "meridian", and see no relevent meaning to this adjective that could be used to describe the noun "child". Same with "meridian dance".

The song plays when the character's begin their journey for destiny, essentialy children of the meridian "Children of the highest", thus meridian child.

Meridian Dance is the song played against the FINAL FINAL boss of SoM, the same reasoning for meridian, only this time instead of the peak of the beginning of a journey, it's the peak to end a journy, completing the destiny.

Dance is a word that used to be enterchanged with dueling or fighting, thus the phrase "Let's dance" before a fight would start.

It would be only fitting for the final battle to be considered the battle of the most powerful.
