Does every recipe I look for on "Chipotle" sauce have to introduce chipotles from a can? I'm looking for a way to make it from dried chipotles I have in my cupboard. Have you every done it this way? If so, any pointers?
This recipe uses 1 cup of Canola or vegetable oil. The complete recipe is in Toni's cookbook "Totally Vegetarian". Often times canned Chipotle is used because the accompanying sauce adds needed moisture and flavor. For this recipe you can re-hydrate dried chili's until they are soft and pliable and drop them into the dressing ingredients.
