@santerlund i think for viggo, speaking English makes him sound gruffy sexy and down to earth in a confident grounded way but when he speaks Danish he sounds much more humble and insecure.

Hes mother's from America and hes father is from Denmark and he has lived in bo´th countries, and he also speeak both languagen (obvisously :) )

they finally have an interview with Gimli, the guy who plays him, he's always excluded. It's so sad, in the documentary they say how he isolated himself almost completely because the make-up ruined his skin so he was embarrased to be seen by his cast during the time they werent filmin... well they said it better... He didn't bond as well with the others because of how he looked...

He speaks danish because the interviewer comes from danish televison, and because Viggo is half danish and therefor speaks the language fluently. Glad I could help..

The language Viggo is talking is danish. He's saying that he hadn't read the book before he got the part, he read during the flight to New Zealand. He furthermore speaks off how Tolkien drew inspiration from the nordic mythology.. vikings. He says that i was interesting to be a part of a "viking movie" as he put it. at the end he speaks about his character Aragorn and how he develops during the course of the fellowships journeyand how he found it very interesting to play such a character.
