I am really torn on this one. I admire anyone who enhances the legacy of Nick but I also believe that some of his songs should not be ramped up; Parasite being one of those. The lyrics are so heavy and are best presented unadorned. This version sounds like Dear Prudence. I love Nick and The Beatles but Nick is Nick and The Beatles are The Beatles!

Everybody thinks that he can cover Nick Drake because the songs are so great. I heard Beck's interpretation before but this cover is way way better. It gives a "plus" to this song honoring the original but giving it a new taste. I would definitely watch you in concert but I'm living in Hungary so it would be very hard:)

This is really a fantastic arrangement! Great electric guitar. To be honest, I find many of Drake's own choice of accompaniment rather awful, especially on Bryter Layter, Pink Moon being the best as far as instrumentation goes, in my opinion.

I would be interested in knowing what guitar/amp/processing you used- strat or other single coil by chance? Hey,thanks for all of your positive comments...the electric on this is a Tom Anderson Classic which is a strat style guitar,I think I used a combination of single coil/humbucker depending on the part...as far as amp,this is actually all Pod so I'm glad it sounded good enough that you thought it might be an actual amp...I sweetened it(and most all the tracks for that matter)with a plugin by PSP called the Vintage Warmer which I definitely recommend if you're using a DAW..hope that's helpful.
