I don't get why the "remake" is called "Karate Kid". I'ts got nothing to do with Karate. For one, the movie takes place in China, where Kung Fu is practiced, not Karate. At least they don't try to hide that fact in the movie. But Karate is from Japan, well acctually Okinawa, where Miyagi is from. There is a diffirence between the two. So not even the Name makes sense.
I love Japanese music, so soothing to my soul I have to say, I could listen to this all the way. it's so relaxing to hear after a very hecked traffic freeway day, coming from work in little Tokyo in LA.. When I arrive at my house, i pour some gen and juice, kick up my feet, meditate and really let loose. No sirens or planes from near or far, just this peaceful music, the view, and living in Diamond Bar.
Love the musiq it's so haunting, just close your eyes and wander off to where you haver always wanted to go. It's such an inspiratonal piece and as many others have said it really does give goosebumps. Hats off to Bill Conti !!!
user2176 what a great idea that is. it would be nice to create a film about mr miyagis life growing up the karate life and the war. since most movie who has three parts tend to create new movie going back in time to have another trilogy. why not. hollywood please do one.
@mxyap Glad you agree! Like X-men origins, or Batman begins, Make a Mr.Miygi origins haha. Daniel was the sentimental figure we could all relate to, but Mr. Miyagi was the real star, we need to know more about this karate teaching, bunzei tree trimming, backyard deck-building, classic car collecting, bmx fixing janitor from Okinawa!!!
i miss the 80's!!!!!!!!!!!! i really feel like i missed some of the gratest decades in my life, i was born OCTOBER 1986, and i barely remember as a child about how it was like to live during the eighties. I remember when I got sober 7 years ago this little old Mexican man took me under his wing and a taught me about God. I always used to call him Mr Miyagi and he would smile.
We would even argue a lot in the beginner of my sobriety lol. So this movie really hits home to me. Miss you Angelo ( Mr Miyagi ) Hope you move back.
Love this Song! makes the hair on my arms stand every time! Would love to see a movie made about the life of Mr. Miyagi. Growing up, his training, feud with brother, his wife and family, the war. Anyone else think that would be a good movie? If it was done well, I think it would be huge!
Yeah this song is beautiful, its serious at the start and then it just goes free. Orignial "Karate kid" is the best, sorry but fuck that new remake. I know Will smith's son gotta start off sumwhere making a big name of himself, but y did he hav2 use something classic like this!?!! They shud've stuck him in the new muppets film or something.
Yes the original karate kid is so much better than remake. The oriignal has what every good story should have....heart. The remake didnt. It was just reciting lines
I have been trying to find the Karate Kid soundtrack for years. Record companies are said to be having a tough time in the new age of downloaded music. Maybe if they produced more Karate Kid Soundtracks, they wouldn't have that problem.
This was the music I was looking for. I wanted to do a mediation session, and use this music as background music. I wish they had just included this on the original album. Such a brilliant piece of music.
This movie was simply perfection - script to reel it was perfection. I wish I could get this music on CD. Unfortunately, Karate Kid soundtrack doesn't have Conti's music.
Now they're making a remake also calling it Karate Kid but with Kung Fu. Shows you that Hollywood doesn't have any original material, so they butcher a classic movie to make money.

i agree, it is beautiful. i have always loved this piece of music. i think the pan flute, piccolo and strings make a beautiful and wonderful combination.
The Track is called 'Training Hard' by Bill Conti. Its from the 'Karate Kid Musical Score' This album comes as part of a boxset 'Karate Kid scores 1-4' fairly hard to get hold of i think.
i loaded this clip for ages. though something special, but it's leim music with pictures.

The Track is called 'Training Hard' by Bill Conti. Its from the 'Karate Kid Musical Score' This album comes as part of a boxset 'Karate Kid scores 1-4' fairly hard to get hold of i think.

@picto08 Easy to find; so many people won't part with the copy they have.

Thanks for the positive comment, its my favourite instrumental track from the film. Brings back great memories from my childhood.
