Social security, public schools, medicare, and unemployement insurance are inferior to personal responsiblity, private schools, private healthcare, and private employement insurance. The former set have less output, less freedom, and less morality than the latter set. The latter set is what america ought to want.

Both government and the private sector are capable of being moral and immoral. No government or private institution can ever be viewed as infallible or safe from corruption. Democracy is not faultless, but it is a safety valve for when government becomes negligent or abusive.

The winner of elections get the power. The losers do not have power until they win a future election. In 2008, the American people spoke and elected Obama and the democrats. The Constitution is in place to protect the individual from the mob. That is why FDR tried to add more (sympathetic) Supreme Court Justices. FDR echoed your "sore loser" comment by saying his opponents "hide behind the Constitution." Damn right we do.
