This reminds me of some Jungle tunes from about '96. I'd put it in a set that spans from '93-96 and not think twice. Maybe in with some Dom and Roland, Dillinja, Lemon D, Bukem, Doc Scott, Ed Rush etc. That bass is very jungly, and that punchy drum business is trademark jungle.
this is dnb, its old skool though comparable with metalheadz, but that was after jungle, real jungle has amenbreaks, instruments, ragga vocals or a fast bass or at least a lot more variation
@subdub0 this is D&B not Jungle. Jungle is a lot more random with the beat... listen to snakecharmer - jahba. that's a good example of jungle. this is just good, chilled, D&B.
mate, the line between jungle and drum n bass is very opinionated ... This tune has a very jungle bass, very dark jungle pads, and the drums are deffinatley jungly ... I would call this jungle, but you can use dnb interchangably ... some would go as far to say Jungle and DNB are the same thing. Dnb came from jungle, just name for new skool jungle really.
Modern DnB sounds nothing like Jungle. Jungle can't really be recreated, they used different equipment and it was in a different era, art reflects life! There is a small new jungle movement where producers like fanu etc are producing the jungle sound but it still isn't quite jungle. I agree this is closer to jungle though.
@1234321mike1234321 Also Jahba really isn't Jungle at all ... Remarc - RIP is a btter example ... Jahba is much more like Breakcore, he even calls himself breakcore.

why is everyone so keen to say whether or not its D&B or Jungle and argue about it. WHO CARES.
Id put this tune in the same bracket as DJ SS - Black, Dillinja - Angels Fell, Doc Scott - Shadow Boxing. (NOT THE STYLE FFS)
This tune is one of the best tunes there is. Just put it on, turn your speakers up and enjoy its genius!

I like alot of Breakages stuff, this is alright.
If you have access to 18' s you GOTTA try his track 2239375. Designed with MAJORLY droning frequencies.
Shook an empty drink bottle out of my hand at 4/5 metres away. Let those sound waves spread out.
It is a killer.
MAD respect.

the bass drop should be the entrance theme to some good UFC fighter who just eats people

hahaha, sounds like a good idea.
I consider this track as truly remarkable. Probably the best I heard from Breakage till now.

@cigojner I've always wondered why a UFC fighter doesn't come out to some nasty DnB.
