Another thing, female circumcision is usually done in order to make the clitoris MORE sensitive. Another reason might be to remove cancer (quite rare).

In few cases the inner lips and/or clitorious are too large and women require some triming it's done in North America as well as all over the world, the majority don't need such a thing and the tribal practices of total removal of the clitorious and the sowing of the vaginal opening however are totally unneeded, painful and wrong

Actually FGM and female circumcision are two different things. Female circumcision is performed when health requires here in North America because an enlarged clitoris can cause pain in a woman and it sometimes needs to be trimmed. I know an athiest woman who had to have the procedure and in fact you can view videos on youtube about non-Muslim women who have had to have the procedure. I am totally against FGM but female circumcision I approve of ONLY when medical nedded
