  • Dude, Here's lot of exciting movies and drama series! Check this out, bit(dot)ly/aPJpXN

  • How many years does it take us to get over some stupid point of view? You don't hear people saying that the earth is still flat. Why are people still saying that they hate others of different color?

Some times i get the feeling that the entire world would be christian, if it wasn't for the thoughts, actions and statements of other "christians"!

This movie shows that the pastor sadly resigned. Pastor should have been promoted! Why are we still dealing with this foolish hate issue?

  • fantastic film. sincerely moved.

  • "your Jesus is contaminated" The barber spoke truth. I am a christian and the Bible teaches us to love eachother and not judge.

  • Oi, MY Jesus is not contaminated.

  • The Barber is the amazing and wonderful Ernie Chambers from Omaha NE, much love and respect!

  • the resignation letter (time code 47:55-49:10) says what being Christian really is. Not someone who goes to church but someone who serves in the world.

  • they have robbed us of who we are thats the worst thing you can do to someone. I don't know if i will ever find out what part of africa my elders are from so that i can find out my roots. so don't complaint when someone speaks the truth about my history!

  • the barber is speakin the truth about the things that were done to {us} african americans and the lies that were told to us as a people by whites. christianity was forced on us when we were slaves. the barber is speakin the truth and i'm sick of WHITE people not wanting to hear about the way they have missed treated africans that later became african americans. They did it we did not came looking for this new world they came and got us.

  • well.. that's religion for you. and there is no "us", all the slaves are long gone dead and buried now. you're doing a great disservice to the people that actually suffered, by trying to align yourself with them and trying to claim their lives and struggles as your own. peace.

  • the problem isnt christianity--it's christians. everyone interprets what the bible says differently. many also want to be exclusive and not accept just everyone into their church.

  • What is the main preachers name? I am not a christian, but I have nothing but respect for this man. And what is the name of the barber? He speaks truth.

  • Rev William "Bill" Youngdahl.

  • it shouldnt matter what color someone is we are all human and will be in heaven together.......

  • wow. the meeting from 34:00 on is amazing.

"we're fighting ignorance in the place where there should be the most enlightenment" how times change and man stays the same.

  • Also there is an eloquence and suffistication with how people spoke in the 1960s (black and white)

  • When the question was asked whether or not the church has had a favorable response to the integration efforts, the answer was avoided. Even racist are ashamed of how the feel ... so ugly racism is.

  • Interesting.... I am 48 years old and I've lived through the Civil Rights era as a elementary school-aged kid. Back then, it was 'racial integration.' From what I can recall, there was mass resistance. Perhaps somewhat similar, today we tackle a racialized 'immigration' issue. Although the immigration debate is cloaked with legal jargon, for me it resembles the mass resistance of the Civil Rights Era. Both retain eerily similar characteristics. We have not really matured much at all....

  • its definately looking that way sometimes, but the changes in most younger generations are huge compared to back then.

We've had our share of issues in the UK too, but as an outsider attitudes to change in America, especially the south can look very backwards to me,like its on a whole different level.

All races and skin tones will always have their share of idiots and finger pointers, unfortunately...looks like ignorance and racism are gonna be around for a long while yet, maybe even forever?

  • A similar thing to this happened at Holy Cross Lutheran in Mobile Alabama. The pastor that came in 1966 advocated bringing black and white Lutherans together. The church almost fell apart over it.

  • Very interesting. The Lutheran church in this film, Augustana Lutheran Church in Omah is, today, racially integrated.

  • I wouldn't necessarily call it integrated...there are only a handful of blacks, maybe 1 or 2 and not many other minorities.

  • OK, thanks. I was going by the membership figures which says there are 10-11 black members.

  • Maybe I am the one who is wrong in terms of exact numbers...nevertheless Omaha as a city is very segregated. For the most part you can define West O as white, North O as black, and South O as Latino. BTW...I'm the little boy in the chair getting the haircut. I'm now 48 and attend a predominantly white church in suburban West Omaha as that is where God has me at this time. Race is a challenge for us humans, but I believe part of my ministry calling is to help bridge the gap.

  • that is a wild story. keep on truckin on brother.

  • Race is not a challenge for humans. Race is a challenge for you, and people like you.

Lemme, guess, you're a bat shit crazy christian and you live in the south?

    Ding, I win.

  • Yes, I am a Christian which my statement obviously reflects...but that's about all you know about me. I don't know what your issue is...but God bless you. That's what we all need.

  • thats you?

quite the racially charged haircut you got there! did it turn out ok? or did it take chunks out your head lol?

    interesting story

  • Bless U brother. U know, being born of the Spirit of God, U are 2 identify w/ your spirit not your soul. Therefore, 2 claim humanity is 2 deny your True Heritage. Whatever is born of God overcomes the world, & therefore, race. After living overseas for 13 years, the race consciousness of the US was a sad shock. I had outgrown it, but the nation hadn't. May your heart be purified totally in Christ Jesus, for to the pure all things are pure, and they shall see God everywhere. Thanks 4 yr honesty.

  • I'm glad to see this very important documentary available on you tube. I saw this film in graduate school, and it has helped shaped my thinking ever since. I only wish more viewers would discover it.

  • gr8 doco

  • Very interesting!
