i like the square design of the illuminated keyboard better. i bought it for my stepfather for christmas last year, but got the k800 for myself on amazon few days ago because i wanna also use it while my PC is connected to my desktop and TV. i also got the g700 mouse which i have in hand now and i love, but a shame you cant use one sensor for both.

Should I buy this, or a more "gaming" keyboard, i'm going to use it for gaming as well as for normal use, i mean, web surfing, media, like movies, songs, and word, powerpoint, some work... I'm not a HARDCORE gamer, i mean, i dont play WOW, but i play some FPS, and RACING... DO the lighting make some difference, and, are they annoying, or are they just fine, please i'm trying to buy something "cheap" so, give me some other recommendation if this is not "for" me...

I've noticed the receivers are kept really close to the peripherals. Is that really necessary for optimal performance? Cause if it is then half the point of a wireless set is gone.

I bought 1 of these exactly 2 weeks ago today and am very happy with it. I use it in the evenings fairly lightly (because usually I'm gaming on my G13 and G25, etc.) and it still shows full battery with three indicator lights. I also turn it off during the day when not in use. I have not detected any delay at all and am happy with the feel. The only complaint: it does not work with my G700 mouse receiver, but that isn't the keyboard's fault - that's because the G700 receiver isn't "unifying".

@skykingusa nope that sucks you can't use the same reciever, they really should find a way to combine all of the software, if you buy a gaming mouse, a keyboard and a headset, you have 3 different softwares..

You covered pretty much everything to wanted to know about the keyboard. Thank you. I would suggest doing some post commentary though so you don't have to edit in corrections, you can just do a retake of the voice. This is what I do on 90% of my videos so that it seems smoother to the audience. With that said, I would rather you have a 12 min video that I can skip around to learn what I want to know, then you not say everything about the keyboard and me having to find more videos. Keep it up!

i never said this was a "gaming keyboard" nor did i compare it to a gaming keyboard. it works for basic gaming, CSS, BF2...if you need macros then no this keyboard isn't for you

@Caskirnov Nice for gaming, in the way that it's very responsive, lit-up keyboard, its very comfy and fast. yes it doesn't have combo keys but you can't expect that from an "office/pro" keyboard. i have plenty of gaming friends that bought it but they aren't into using the combo keys.

I didn't think anyone would actually wonder if this keyboard would do the combo keys, i would've been really surprised if it did

Buddy, i noticed that "Escape key" is fitted deeper in the body as compared to all keys, tht includes all "F" keys as well. Your unit in particular has similar, OR i got an isolated minor problem.

@craige4u Hey, yes i forgot about the cable which leaves the light on, kinda strange since it needs to recharge, turning lights off will let keyboard recharge faster

As for leaving the recharging cable always attached, it doesn't do any harm really, the G700 has same kind of batteries and has data over cable especially for gamers

Would've been nice if they added an option to leave lights on without needing to leave cable plugged

@spearmintmonkey the same kind as for the G700 mouse which is rechargeable AA batteries 2000mAh (2xAA for the keyboard and one for mouse)

If you want you can put other rechargeable batteries in it with higher density
