Anyone else reminded of Yiddish music in this piece?
I am, as a Jew, anyway...but regardless:
BEAUTIFUL, I think Tchaikovsky may very well have been the best composer for the violin ever...
Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, all great composers have certain instruments that seem especially potent in their music--Tchaikovsky seems dominant in violin instrumentation, and utilizing it to express SUCH DEEP EMOTION AND POWER! :D
@obiwanobiwan13 Being from Central/Eastern Europe myself of Ashkenazi and Sephardi Jewish origins mixed with all that melange of cultures found in that area, this reminds me of Central European music (this includes Yiddish, Hungarian, Czech, etc).
If I may grab your attention for a bit, I would like you to direct it to ACTA.

I love this song so much!! I swear theyve used this in a movie? I know there are probably many where it has been used but something about it rings a bell, something like the corpse bride seems so familiar!
So different from many valses through its melody line, rhythm, violin "crying" and singing. Very expressive ad impressive. I discovered this a few months ago and it became a reference piece of classical music when I need to get relaxed, from time to time.
I will share with friends as they will for sure love it.

TCHAIKOVSKY - VALSE SENTIMENTALE, the last of his Six morceaux (Six Pieces), for piano, Op. 51, was composed in 1882, during a very difficult period in the composer's life. From the late 1870s until 1885, the composer felt restless, somewhat disoriented, and unsure of his creative powers. Molto Bello!!! Thank you for sharing this video.
As a result, he led a nomadic existence, constantly traveling, without a home he could call his own. Composed in the summer of 1882, at a cottage near Kamenka, where Tchaikovsky was able to work in peace, the Six morceaux are charming, intimate miniatures – all dedicated to women. Molto Bello!!! Thank you for sharing this video.
