  • Perfect conditions and such fun. You all make it looks so easy.....

  • Fantastic vid mate. Great flying conditions too.

Thanks for uploading this. I might get to see it one day, you never know.

  • You've got bigger balls than any of the chumps in the water!!! Unfortunately for them, the idiots in the boats are makin' things much worse... Awesome footage & great choice in music, Kudo's to you bro!!!

  • Now this is in my favourite vids

  • Wheres this at?

  • @FunnyFunTimes Tidal bore of the River Severn as it approaches Gloucester, England.

  • I keep coming back to this - I have bookmarked it - and when the feeling takes me, I'm here. Beautiful!

  • Great film. One of those rare YouTube gems that takes something quite ordinary and turns it into something beautiful.

  • water looks so amazing

  • Amazing video! And the bore looks really beautiful in the light of the sun. Goes perfectly with the music too! :)

  • nicely done! really captures the essence of the bore, it's a beautiful thing

  • Brilliant !

  • beautiful video with excelent choice of music, whish I was there. although there are parts were I'm wondering where the engine out will take you. safe flying.

  • See the youtubevideo "Incredible Severn Bore Wave", is that you? Awesome vid.

  • Stunning video

  • I DON'T UNDERSTAND THOSE DISLIKES, THIS VID IS AWESOME!!!!

  • Excellent film. Please do more of them, they show a very different perspective of the bore. I've surfed it myself 10 yrs ago, and it is one of the best things I've ever done.

    Keep doing what you're doing!

  • dude is nuts for flying a PPG over the water

  • I agree with you Ben. Lets get the Dragonflies out :-)

  • Just excellent.... Superb. Well done. My only question is how on earth can anyone actively Dislike it?????

  • I am blown away, will have to come and chase this in the Dragonflies, thank you for such an amazing film :o)

  • Excellent

  • that is brilliant mate. thank you.

  • beautiful. good moment. thank you

  • One of the coolest things I have ever seen

  • That looks awesome fun, much respect. Nice to see you're not scared of the CAA or drowning when your motor cuts out, I wouldn't be that brave.

  • Fantastic! Thanks for sharing your unique experience! Wow!!

  • absolutely beautiful

  • Very cool!

  • Really nice video here ... B R A V O !

    Cheer's from Arizona , usa .

  • talk about snaking someones waves

  • WOW.. Awesome video!!

  • thiswas beautiful

  • Great paramotor vid, one of the best on here (after all of mine...) Will have to fly this myself one day

  • Were 2 Is That Please ??

  • @misssexystevie He is flying between Arlingham and Epney in Gloucestershire. Put those names into google and look at the maps...just off the M5.

  • Is this like a periodic tidal wave?

  • @blopiful Yup. Search google for "Severn Bore timetable" and it will tell you where and when. Timetables are accurate to within 20 minutes or so. The variation is due to local conditions such as river flow, local pressure systems etc.

  • @blopiful Tidal bore of the River Severn, Gloucestershire, UK. It's caused by the huge tidal range...the difference in height between low and high tides in the Bristol channel, and some unusual and complex wave harmonics. So yes... short answer, it's a periodic tidal wave. Google search for "Severn Bore timetable". This was a biggie.

  • Great video - How can people dislike it ??

  • Very very cool - thanks. Easily the best film on here.......

  • one of the best videos I've seen on youtube in aaaaages! Makes me wanna learn to do paramotoring myself. :)

  • Brilliant! I've done a bit of paragliding and would love to try a paramotor. You have a tallent.

  • @elmdon147

    talent?

  • Beautiful film, how amazing is Mother Nature.

  • Oh my god if you go on the tidal bore video by sky sports the lady says that she see's a parachute and then later on in the video you can see you!!!!!!

  • Go away, white people on the boats!

  • the music is like the voice of god from above the paramotor. Wow!

  • that was amazing

  • Comment removed

  • Incredible video. If my Flat Top werent so unreliable, I would love to do something like that. Congratulations on a beautiful flight

  • @imasuper308 You don't own a Flat Top or you would know they are the most reliable paramotors on the market by a huge margin. Do you really have to lie about competing brands to sell your products? I really don't expect an answer though now that you are dead Bob.

  • Sweet! I keep meaning to see this for real!

What sort of range can you get on these paramotors and what altitudes do you cruise at normally?

    Regards,

a PPL(A) based at Gloucestershire Airport

  • I was disappointed by watching lots of video gopro with image qualities not so clear, but your video makes me want to buy one. Is it the fact that you're in heaven, it's true that there is no better place brighter than the sky ...Thanks for your video

  • Very very cool.. How often is this wave surfable?

  • @ollycopter Search google for Severn Bore 2011. If a tide is mentioned on the timetables, it will be surfable. Not saying it will be good, because that depends on more than the size of tide, but it will be surfable.

  • nice video , looks like you and the surfers were having a great time

  • Hello, are you planning to fly/film the bore again this year?? If so, can I tag along?? (Bailey175/ApcoVista HP) Cheers MPH

  • Absolutely stunning……at last a video that really shows the Severn bore as the magnificent spectacle that is truly is, great work mate!

  • love it! might be a reason for me to think of visiting UK just to surf

  • @zilam98 A tide bigger than this one is due next weekend.

  • @neilandfi oh darn. does this tide occur only during winter time?

  • @zilam98 No.it gets bigger near the spring and autumn equinoxes and smaller towards summer and winter solstices. Search via google for "Severn Bore 2011" and you'll probably find Russ Higgins's website, with message board and timetable.

  • @neilandfi thank you!

  • This is still, by far, my favorite video on youtube. Fact! 5 stars

  • I got goosebumbs :-O

  • It's films line these that may one day tempt me to the dark side of flying with a motor. Well done mate, great quality with the goPro too.

  • gosh i'm not enough brave but if someone would tell me i'd see such a thing a would do it right now!

  • Absolutely first class video, one of YouTubes' greatest hits I'm sure!!

  • I see no surfers, not big enough for them?

  • @leapoffaith20 Look more carefully...they're there all the way through, but when he's filming from that height all you can see most of the time is the wake of the boards. I was on the banks that day and the wave reached well overhead in several places. As a surfer though, the sheer numbers in the water were stupid.

  • An excellent study of the bore, thanks for posting :-)

  • reporter Skynews: the parachute seems to be powered by a copter as well :P

  • great freaking vid mate !!! thanks so much for sharing !

  • Perfection personified!

Just watching your video makes me happy to be alive - many thanks!

  • Its a beautiful video!!!!! thanks for sharing!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Greetings!

  • This is just AMAZING. Well done. The song just tops it off.

  • Great Video - super music. Looks like a great flght ! We plan to fly tomorrow here in Central Ukraine .... but we don't have the bore - only cows and the Dnepr River.

  • Nice. Morning mist, then amzing view.

  • it's a crime that u only have less than 20.000 views...

it should have had at least 1 mil.

great video, it really puts u in a sweet disposition. :)

you should make more videos like this, in different places in the world :D

  • Stupendous and I have only just discovered it nearly 8 months later!!! I along with thousands of others was at Minsterworth church and saw you buzzing around (not meant in a derogatory way - but it is the best description I can think of) you even got a mention on Sky News.Bravo

  • truly awesome video! not my kind of music but fair play it fits this video like a glove. when is the next bore, is it nov 7th? would really love to see it first hand. again, amazing video!!!!!!!!!!

  • @smkebud search google for "severn Bore timetable" . Average ( surfable) tide due in a couple of weeks, then properly big tides due in both Feb and March. If the river is low, go to the upper end to see the best wave. If there's plenty of extra freshwater, look at the areas he filmed here, between Newnham and the Severn Bore Inn at Minsterworth.

  • @neilandfi sweet, will be going to watch one soon, ive fished the river for years but never seen the bore, thinks its about time i did. thanks for info

  • brilliant!

  • Bravo man, one of the top of its kind

  • The best vid ive ever seen of the bore and the quality of this vid and the music is second to none thanks for sharing it.First rate vid

  • Sweet Tune for minin' of the stoke!

  • very nice video :)

  • This remains the best ever video of The Severn Bore - I doubt it will be ever bettered! I'll be kayaking from Newnham to Minsterworth as usual - 8th, 9th & 10th October, possibly the final one on November 7th. It rounds of an exceptional Bore Year!!! Thanks again for this. Brad, 52 year old (overweight) kayaker, Red Prijon Cross Kayak

  • Well Cool.

  • Wow, sooo cool. Great music. Gotta see this from your angle. Thanks for the good vid.

  • soooooooooo beutifull!

cant wait to fly like this myself!

  • I really enjoyed this video. Thanks for sharing

  • Hey Man, the boat in front of the waves is a cool shot.. Was that the tide coming in?

  • @MrTom423 Yup, tidal bore of the river Severn, so "tide coming in" is a pretty accurate description

  • Watched three times, love this clip, a triumph, brilliant shots. Was in the line up at Ship Inn then. Off tomorrow really pumped. Best bore footage by a mile. A

  • Awesome!

  • Amazing man , that gave my eyes an orgasm

  • could you tell me the mark of this camera it has hight quality i like it

  • Fantastic better from 2,07 with no boats or surfers canoeist it would be nice to let in the bore come one day a year in its pure raw beauty without all the above spoiling it

  • Fantastic better from 2,07 with no boats or surfers canoeist it would be nice to let in the bore come one day a year in its pure raw beauty without all the above spoiling it

  • Great video keep them coming!!

  • This is without a doubt the best video of paramotoring on you tube. Awesome video, spectacular sound track, great image. I just can't get tired of seen it again and again. Thanks for sharing such a good video

  • Fantastic! Thanks

  • This is without doubt the best vid on you tube. stunning.....

  • Brilliant! i saw you on the tv on sky when they were talking about the bore ha!

  • why the fuck would you dislike this video its awsome!

  • WOW!! That was fantastic! Great video and spot on sound track. Wish I`d have been there!!!!

  • Excellent, good shooting

  • This is AMAZING.

  • It is just timing.

It was understood that the wave beautifully went up to the upstream, saw, and it was interesting.

A very good chance was taken.

Thank you for a happy video.

  • @tobimasu50

The Severn Bore is a regular event.

This is still a great video though, no doubt about it, liking the soundtrack too.

  • @blahdelablah

Thank you. It appears to the television in Japan. I want to show a good image for you. It will hold out in the future.

  • @blahdelablah I second that. Better than anything I ever filmed. Top quality!

  • woww really cool ..i would love to do that .butt i think i would shit myself..

  • Is that you then in the Sky news video coverage then? Apparently you are a parachutist that is powered by some form of "Copter". Obviously no need to pass an intelligence test to be a news reader! Liked your coverage more than theirs.

  • Can't stop watching this - It's my 'FIX' whilst I await the next Bores!! Thanks once again Phil. Kind Regards, Brad 52 year old kayaker. Perhaps see you above us on 11th,12th,13th August?? maybe 9th,10th,11th Setember??

  • Very nice scenery, nothing to crazy with the wing but the view must have been spectacular

  • I've watched this SO many times now. All-time all-world video. Thanks a million.

  • WOW - Superb

Trundles off to Google the Severn Bore & Paramotors !

  • Desde Argentina, te felicito por el vuelo y el video. Buen trabajo.

  • There is only One Word for this Video, Editing and Soundtrack Phill.

    "FANTASTIC"

  • There is only One Word for this Video, Editing and Soundtrack Phill.

    "FANTASTIC"

  • amazing footage mate. gopros are unreal.

  • Wow, it was almost like a discovery channel documentary. Best video of this bore I've seen and great write up in paramotor magazine! Congrats

  • This has got to be one of the best pieces of filming I`ve seen on Youtube!

I have surfed the bore and you have captured the feeling of bieng on the wave without touching it...

  • magic!!!!!!

  • Love your views, hate the engine noise. The sound of the bore is part of the experience. I hear that an electric motor is being tried out. If it's an option, that would be great.

  • Great work, i one day hope to see the Severn bore. It's ok seeing it on the river Parrett but it is often still dark when the morning spring bores come in (so not much point) or there is too much fresh water in the river!

  • beautiful. I noticed that you feature in several other Severn bore videos one with a beautiful rendition of "the water is wide" and a news commentary. The PPG is the best platform for doing video of something as unique as a tidal bore. I was wondering if the news choppers caused you any problems.

  • Niceeee

  • Cool Vid boss, starting my training with Axis in Abergavenny Looking forward! Nice one!!

  • Hey! I think I saw your blue parachute on the news report! :)

  • Excellent Video :) Well done.

  • There are days like that when all conditions are in place for a magnificent flight. They are rare but when it happens it gives lasting memories and can capture unique moments. Beautiful video and beautiful music.

  • very goooodddddd!

    Nice images. Great moment!!!

    Patricio.

    Spanish PPG pilot.

  • hope your engine does kill

  • Superb video; superb choice of music! I have watched this several times in a row now.

Wish I'd been up there, too. Love it!

  • Excellent video! Thanks. Tom

  • Have some pics from the day too, google search" jamie cooper images" for my site

  • Great movie!

  • Thanks for sharing this. Looks like you had a tough morning! Who plays the soundtrack please?

  • Song is Sweet Disposition by The Temper Trap

  • Awesome ! ...I was in one of those choppers taking pictures

  • Nice video! of whom it is the song?

  • Fantastic filming! Just awesome!

  • You win...

that looks so much more fun than the surfing and your footage is much better than what the news crews came up with from their choppers....

  • cooooool ;)))

  • I love the bit 2:45 when he's skimming the sand racing towards the bore.

  • fantastico vuelo...felicidades.

  • Wonderful shots! Thank you!

  • Stunning! I've got goosebumps.

  • Really lovely shots - nice flying and great music. Very well done!!

  • Truly stunning,, nice one : )

  • Stunning video, one of the best ive seen

  • Yeah saw you buzzing around on the news in the background, must have been cold up there first thing in the morning, top job!

  • 2:29 is one of the best shots of the bore i have seen. which part was this on. i saw you a number of times in places?

  • Its on the straight section midway between Broadoak and Upper Framilode

  • Thought you guys were there? I saw you getting out at P*****s? Check the pylons at the start of the section for clarification.

  • Great stuff Phil, do hope you have some sort of water buoyant device though!

  • That's lovely lovely footage dude, congrats. And I agree, the music choice is just exhilarating.

  • what a great flight!....next time you will have to footdrag along side them!!lol...brilliant!

  • Brilliant.. Brave man. respect.

  • Great Video Phill, We was wondering who that was. See you at our fly-in, Nigel, UKPPG

  • So thats what I missed!! Damn it....

  • Brilliant film and how fascinating to see what you were seeing, while I was on the ground filming you!

  • Great footage Phil!!! Doing stuff like that is what Paramotoring is all about. Did you seen your old instructor Kester on a board below you? We at SkySchool are all very proud of you!!!

  • WOW, simply stunning.

    Great music choice too......

  • I hope you're proud of that! What stunning footage! I kayaked Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday with my Go Pro HD, so have 'on wave' footage, also in R4 mode - including you in the air!!. When I can work out how to edit/manipulate the footage I 'll try and post. I've paddled, and been watching bore footage since the mid 80's, your film tops the lot. Thanks so much for posting. Kind Regards, Brad (52 year old kayaker)

  • @lubeupyerbutthole Did you have a bright yellow kayak!
