I always feel these japanese live action movies always fail to capture the cockpit from the animated versions.. im not trying to hate but just hear me out.. in the animated shows like grendizer, gaiking, yamato and harlock.. those bridges and cockpits are massive not to mention waaay technological.. In the live actions they always make it look like tubes and pipes and buttons and nothing more.. I mean wheres all the hologram technology!? I was greatly disappointed with the yamato movie bridge.

@rometdead32 Yes Gaiking originally was an anime that came out when I was very young. They had a line of toys as well and even though the giant robots were seperate cartoons we referred to them as "Shogun warriors". Mazinga, Raiden, and Grandizer were similar robots all with their own shows. Gaiking was actually seperate parts that merged together (think Voltron) and made the robot in it's humanoid form.

In the retracting helmet sequence... the camera angle and the synchronizing of the anvil/metal sound with the pilot opening her eyes was especially slick and cool! Kudos for sure:)
