Hi, I was wondering why you have a bag full of nursing supplies... doesn't the facility that you do your clinicals supply them?
I understand the whole "no life" issue... nursing school is really demanding- none of my non- nursing friends seem to understand why when I have school from 8-5, I still can't hang out on a weekday.
@Elisheval We had to buy the bag for over $200 and it has everything in it... All of our trach suctioning supplies, bandages, stethoscope, bp cuff, foley cath kit, IV kits, etc. We use our bags to practice skills and when we are tested on certain skills. We are supposed to keep our pen lights, scissors, and stethoscopes on us for all of clinicals, as well as our bandaging tape, and sometimes our bp cuff...
actually, i just got accepted in the nursing school and will be starting this fall semester on August 30! it seems so far away, but i guess i have to buy the books now and read some so i could be prepared!! lol
i'm sooo excited and nervous at the same time, i'm actually more worried about the clinicals coz i dunno how to treat my patient and i just have alot of worries! coz i've never had any medical experience, and this will be my first offical job! i'm 18 btw.
@bLuebhErie Oh you will be fine. They teach you EVERYTHING you need to know along the way. You use a lot of critical thinking and it gets better as you go. It can be a challenge at first, but once you get in the swing of things, keep looking forward and never ever get burnt out and give up. It is a lot of hard work and everything you learn can build on top of new skills and things. Have fun and goodluck!
Oh my, I just got accepted into university for nursing. I will start this fall. I am sooo nervous, scared, as well as exited. All the work you've mentioned so far is scaring me... Hopefully, i can do well in school.
Oh no. Don't be scared. If you have a lot of will power and you are determined, you will be fine. Its just a lot of hard work. I've taken a lot more classes now and I just really have no more time to post anymore videos. You have to put everything youve got into it.
I appreicate your videos so much, and your enthusiasm for nursing! I want to go into Nursing, I just don't think I am smart enough or that I can handle the intense load of all of the work.
Green uniform top!!!! I'm so jealous! We have to wear all white and the top has our school logo on the arm. I'd kill to wear green, lol! We're using the same fundamentals book and the Davis drug guide. Our clinical kit was $295! It was filled with a lot of interesting stuff though, but geez....everything's so expensive. Anyway...keep up with the videos and good luck.
lol. Well, the top is the only part thats green. We have to wear white pants and we got the white jackets to go with it. lol. Its cool to know whats going on in other people's nursing programs.lol For comparison. Everything is so expensive. It gets costly. I will try keeping up with the videos. Keep studying and keep checking back. Goodluck to you!
I am in nursing school too. Comparing different books and how our programs work makes me see how different these programs are from state to state. We never got that big nursing kit 1st quarter. I am in 3rd quarter now and we are just now learning how to insert foley catheters...interesting. I must say we have one thing in common, because since school has started I don't have a life either lol.
My boyfriend is taking pre-reqs for nursing. He has been school searching because he does not like how our local school does it. While we are searching, we are seeing the differences on what classes are taken when. Its weird how people could all go for the same things but schools all teach in different orders and different ways.
Wow, that's a lot!!! Congrats on getting in and letting everyone know how things are. I plan on trying to get in myself, but, I'm just getting started on my basics right now. Good luck!!!!!
Thanks. I appreciate your post. I am going to try to keep updating my videos throughout the program. My little journey =D Keep your grades up and goodluck!
Remember when you could watch a video without having to sit through a commercial?
Remember when music videos were uploaded by users and not VEVO
Remember when all the info was to the right of the video?
Remember you could rate a video 1-5 stars?
Remember the famous yellow subscribe button?
Remember when the users controlled the site and not corporations?
Post this in every video and lets start a youtube revolution!
Thumbs up to keep at the top of the page!
Thanks!

You can do it... It takes some sacrifices when it comes to family, but it will be so worth it in the end!

Now you've got me scared. Slated to start nursing clinicals in a few weeks. Have a husband and two daughters, ages 12 and 14.
