i don't know if this is exclusive to me, but my sense of American pride includes Canada. When i was renewing my vehicle registration at the the DMV in Colorado, there was a special line for Military personnel, so I got in line to get my special privellege and discount. But one thing that touched me is when a Canadian soldier dressed in his military uniform was accepted and given the same respect and privellege that I was when he stood in that same line.

Canada is having a dissapointing winter Olympics this year in Vancouver.The men's favored hockey got beat by USA yesterday and need to play Germany and RUSSIA just to get to the semi-final.
I think they will lose to Russia and fail to even win a medal, let alone a Gold. Why?-you might say.

So many things were ridiculously wrong about our opening ceremonies.
a. The natives in our country are practically exploited. They're dragged out for events like this and the rest of the time nobody could care less.
b. The French was basically an insult to Quebec. They had ten years to practice this thing and the announcers are practically saying "they forced me to read this in French."
c. The national anthem was merely a pop song version that in no way is how any citizens ever sing it.

i would argue sweden is more of a "peace-keeper" than canada. beyond that, the US and canada are both great counties. i'm American, but i would never say the US is the "greatest" country because i dont think that is something you can ever gauge.

Aside from the Canadian team, the biggest cheer at the Opening Ceremony's went to the US Olympians.
American foriegn policy is disgusting (support for Israel), but no use to take it out on their wondeful citizens.

i don't know if this is exclusive to me, but my sense of American pride includes Canada. When i was renewing my vehicle registration at the the DMV in Colorado, there was a special line for Military personnel, so I got in line to get my special privellege and discount. But one thing that touched me is when a Canadian soldier dressed in his military uniform was accepted and given the same respect and privellege that I was when he stood in that same line.
