  • 24 peep voted Conservative.

  • Education isn't a federal responsibility, and there's still plenty of arts funding... However, I think there should be more controls on who gets funding and who doesn't. For example, Margie Gillis earning millions and millions of dollars of governemnt funding for Interpretive Dance is a travesty and a waste of money. Things like that make us want tax cuts.

Oh yeah, The Liberals are the ones who treated natives like second class citizens too

If you want to vote to save the country, vote tory

  • We were raised on the socialist state, however we weren't lucky... Socialism has failed everywhere it's been implemented. The USSR, the Warsaw Pact countries, and up to Modern Day Greece. Sooner or later, somebody has to pay for everything, that's what socialism doesn't recognise.

And they've increades funding for Health Care at the same rate as the previous Liberal Government (6% a year), and haven't screwed women or immigrants.

  • @ducttape82 In the case of the USSR, that's more "fascism" under the name "socialism," but I digress. Socialism does acknowledge "someone" has to pay -- the tax payers. As for screwing women and immigrants, the Cons have cut funding to womens advocacy groups in record numbers and have been making it increasingly difficult for immigrants to claim refugee status. Plenty of news articles about both.

  • @getmobilized The problem is socialism results in a horrendously inefficent and bloated government. There is far too much wasted money, and the drive to work is not there when you are automatically provided for.

There is thousands of bogus refugee claims every year from free established democracies like the US, UK, France, etc.. There is no reason for anyone to be claiming refugee status coming from there, and therefore it should be incredibly difficult for someone to do so.

  • @getmobilized The changes to the refugee system is to streamline it, so the people fleeing persecution in places like Ethiopia can get dealt with, and the people trying to get into the country on a bogus refugee claim is quickly sent packing, so they're not wasting our time and money by supporting them for years before we can legally extradite them.

And they've cut funding for all special interest groups, and I say good on them. They should be responsible for their own fundraising

  • @ducttape82 Do you happen to be a Sophist from Antic Greece?

  • @Andrathaniel No, I'm not... Why do you ask?

  • @ducttape82 your comparison with other socialist states is nothing more than a sophism.

  • @Andrathaniel I disagree with you, sooner or later you have to stop and look at the results of socialist minded societies vs free market societies over the long term. Socialist-minded countries almost universally have underperformed if not outright failed, where free market societies have generally performed better.

  • @ducttape82 I'd like to point out to you that the reason why the entire world is collapsing right now is almost only because the world's first economy is under duress... The United States. Is the USA a socialist state? I doubt it!

  • @Andrathaniel Recessions happen under any style of government. But the countries that operated under a more free-market fiscally responsible system of government (Canada, UK, Germany, etc) are relatively OK, where the ones that operated under welfare state socialism (Greece, Italy, Portugal, etc) are in major trouble now.

I'll bet the US pulls out of this recession long before Greece does too

  • @ducttape82 Have you watched the 2010 Wall Street movie? Such speculation only happens in a capitalist state!! Don't deny it! Capitalism failed us all!

  • @Andrathaniel How do you figure Capitalism failed us all, when the capitalist countries are the ones that are still relatively stable, where the socialist ones are in crisis?

Sure, the US is in recession, but nobody is worried about the economy falling apart. That can't be said for multiple European welfare states... The US will pull out of this in fine form

  • @Andrathaniel For that matter, the policy that caused the US housing market crash came from the Clinton years. They strongly promoted banks giving mortgages to people who simply could not afford them, because they wanted "Houses for everyone". If they accepted the fact that not everyone can afford a house, then they would not have gotten themselves into this mess.

In fairness, Bush didn't do anything to reverse that policy. He should have the second he had the chance.

  • @Andrathaniel A great example is to use countries that were split in two, with one half adopting a western free-market approach, where the other went socialist or communist.

West Germany vs East Germany, South Korea vs North Korea, etc.

Everyone would agree the goal of socialism is a noble one, the eradication of poverty, etc... the problem is, the solution that socialists propose is an example of something that looks great on paper, but is proven to fail in practice.

  • @Andrathaniel The reason why socialism is summed up well in 5 points:

    1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.

    2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.

    3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else

    4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it

  • @Andrathaniel 5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation

  • It's be great if you could get informed, then sing a song that is factual...

We haven't signed any contracts to purchase F-35's yet... however it was the Liberal Party that signed the commitment to fund the program. Likewise, the Liberals also got us into Afghanistan,

Two-tiered health care isn't on the Conservative agenda... although it should be. The only countries in the world where it is illegal to spend your own money on your own health procedures is: Canada, Cuba and North Korea

  • @ducttape82 I'm not the author of the song, just a friend who uploaded it for her, but speaking of factual -- it's not illegal to spend your own money on healthcare in Canada. People do it all the time. In fact, there are lots of procedures in Ontario that aren't covered by OHIP. Also, Harper has repeatedly stated he prefers two-tier healthcare -- whether it's on the docket now or not, it's something he wants.

  • @getmobilized Try paying for Chemotherapy if you're seriously ill with cancer and see what happens. It's ridiculous those people have to drive across the border to the states if they want to take on the financial responsibility of treating an illness that might kill them.

And who cares if he wants it? The man isn't allowed to have his own opinions on things if you don't agree with him? Every European country has a "two-tier" system, and far outperforms our own system.

  • And he cheated to do it again. What an asshole.

  • you are beautiful

  • Thank you very much. Occupy, occupy!

  • Awesome. Are you a London native? I want to think so.

  • @greyareaRK1 Yep, she's from London, ON

  • Hey! Could you send me your lyrics? I'd love to do a cover of this sometime. I'm a big frank turner fan and a huge anti-harper advocate!

  • @DyingSceneOfficial The lyrics are posted in the "info" on the video. Just click on "Show More" and you'll see it. Have fun!

  • I love this! Well played and well said!

  • You should get together with Bridgette De Pape

  • Amen, Glad somebody will speak up,I live in Alberta and all people say is how great he is and how there is finally a voice for the west its all a load of crap Harper is a joke and a corrupt pm!

  • I hate to self-plug, but there's a song on Reverbnation called "Woe, Canada" that's about pretty much the same thing.

(though since I'm the schmuck singing and playing it, you probably did it better :P )

  • @BoredomCorner Do you have a link? Would love to hear it

  • Absolutely incredible, well done and well said. Any chance you're willing to share the chords? I'd love to learn how to play this!

  • Wow.. blown away by your talent.

  • I love your voice.

  • Well I guess Harper gets another 4 years to fuck the kids.

  • Will u marry me. Ha ha but if u ask me no matter who's in were all fucked any ways lol

  • This is so fucking awesome, haha.

  • This is awesome! Great job.

  • A-mazing!

  • Tell Harper, Kids"living"in poverty want(A life)for Easter!

Vote out their Hunger and pain"

  • Apparently 21 slimy Tory shits have seen this.

  • @jimtube84 Hey! I had a nasty case of the runs last night, and I'm quite certain that the slimy shits I dumped would be INCREDIBLY offended at your comparing them to mindless automatons like TORIES! d=^o

  • @TheRealElectroPig Just goin off the lyrics

  • Great Job! I am real surprised that as close as we are in CANADA to the election this video has not gone viral !!! If you liked it tell your friends, show it to any students you know. The conservative have always been afraid of the youth vote. The youth today have access to info that is uncontrollable with the internet. They need to get out and let their votes be HEARD. 40% of eligible voters didn't vote last election.65% of that were the 18 - 30 generation. Your vote only counts if you VOTE !!

  • Anyone who turns anger at national political injustice into a guitar solo is alright by me.

  • You have a great singing Voice =)

  • really great!!! the sane people are still out here :) clever song and anyone who's got their eyes open and their heads not in their butts can see how all those scandals come together to paint the portrait of a man who doesn't really seem to get canada.

i think the audience he is looking for is down south (sorry american friends!)

  • Amazing video! Students, learn and vote! The conservatives are here to protect the interests of big corporations that are destroying the land we live on. Harper doesn't even believe Canada is a colonized nation! Just vote him out PLEASE! Or we can expect more G20-like problems in the future, more homeless on the street, less money for education and health care. Let alone, more first nation reserves getting torn apart for the oil industry, tell me how that's fair?!

  • Is a minority government so bad?

Nothing much changes with a minority government (hands are tied) and the changes we've seen over the years with majority governments have resulted in more "taxes" (sometimes they're called something else), less services, less GOOD paying jobs (good for the tax base) leaving the country, more "user fees" or whatever you may call them. When it comes to change, sometimes less is more.

Even if your party loses, you still get up in the morning. Is that so bad?

  • Beautiful! Thank you so much! :-)

  • Good work, love the anger!

  • This was SO well done.

Equally impressive is how you've managed to temporarily distract some of these turd burglars from their turd burglary and actually get them discussing their opinions. Too bad people feel as if their energy is better spent on personal attacks and slander instead of actually discussing the merits of their ideas. You know, like adults.

  • Vote anything but Harper.

  • @cornsnoggle its idiots like you who shouldnt be voting. just hate harper. why dont you actually vote for some one you want, not just to spite harper. I'm not saying vote harper, vote for someone who has the same interests as you.

  • @pgman1804 Go fuck yourself. I want anything but Harper at this point, I'm voting for my own party right now, but if you actually knew anything about the parties, the two major 'left' parties are actually pretty similar, while the Conservatives have been a black stain on this country. I'm voting for who I want in, but if someone is voting Green in this election, then it won't really make a difference. Voting strategically isn't stupid, it's realistic in this current electorate climate.

  • @cornsnoggle big words for a retard. yea lets vote for any party. if NDP gets voted in the whole country is fucked. just look at what happened to BC a few years back when NDP won the provincial. and I guarantee I know more than you on this election, just different opinions you fail to agree with so it makes you feel better to say I know nothing. bloc will obviously never win, so therefore its a race between liberals and conservatives, both which I am ok with.

  • @pgman1804 Grow up, kid. Ad hominems will get you nowhere. I didn't say vote for any party, just vote strategically due to preference. You clearly don't understand the difference between federalist and provincial parties. So no, if the NDP gets substantial gains we won't be 'fucked.' I don't care if you think you know more. It's irrelevant. It isn't win/lose for either parties, thats not how parliamentary elections work. Stop basing decisions on your fears, maybe learn logic too.

  • @cornsnoggle you specifically said vote anything but harper. dumb ass. and its not really win or lose for anyone unless someone wins majority. otherwise parties just try to make agreements to gang up on the leading party. basically in a non-majority government, the third and fourtth place parties end up deciding who gets the "majority" by siding with the second leading party usually just to upset the leading party. this means parties that most people dont want in power end up with more power.

  • @pgman1804 Most people understand that when people say Vote ABC, they mean the person who is most likely to defeat 'C', but apparently that needed to be spelled. I understand how minorities and majorities work, I volunteered and then worked with elections Canada for the past two elections. I'm saying that people who don't want a largely Conservative government should simply vote for the person most likely to win, and at this point most people would be happy to see a minority Liberal government.

  • You're bang on at 1:30. The conservative mentality is: socialist benefits for the rich are cool, but not for anyone who didnt grow up with a silver spoon feeding them all day.

Harper's nothing but the prototypical product of the Fraser institute's bullshit. It's okay for us to fund their think tanks and corporate subsidies, but not okay for the poor majority to have rights or services. And forget about minorities, immigrants, aboriginals, or women, they're not people according to the cons.

  • Girlie...do some living, mature a little bit and keep your ears to the ground....all politicians are corrupt these days. And everybody knows that universities are a breeding ground for liberal propaganda. The point is, Liberals, Conservatives, NDPers, Blocs, Greens... all cater and bow down to the banks and corporations... you and I are their slaves.

  • @kooslap

Cynical, but sadly true. Except corps have little interest in the Greens, or even the NDP, because they dont have faith in them gaining much (or any) power. It's a weak option, but it's there.

  • Yes thank you for this! Had he tried to eliminate my vote at Laurier I'd have snapped hard!!!

  • great song

  • AWESOME!!

  • This song made me laugh,

    It was clever and funny,

I can tell that you're not a tory

But bitch and moan all you like,

    Use the F-word a lot,

Doesn't matter - in 12 days we'll have our Majority

  • You cant sing as a well..

  • sooo good!! love

  • That was horrible

  • Bravo ! Thanks for taking a stand for Canada and Democracy !

  • no more elections conservative majority

  • Thanks so much for caring enough about canadian society to have put yourself out there with this very cool song. Well done.

  • Don't listen to shitty comments on here, love. It's just youtube idiots. This is a GREAT song and a great message. :D

  • @ObruniGirl great song? keep dreaming. and if you read her coments, they are so biased its not even funny. the guelph balloting thing has got to be the stupidest thing ever. there is no proof of it either way. look what the liberals did last time they were in power, why does all that just disapear? Im not disagreeing with everything she says, she just needs to grow up and not make childish videos especially with a swear word in every line. voting needs to go away from trash talking.

  • @MrMontaigo That in no way disproves the fact that a girl was removed from a rally for having Iggy in her facebook pic. Or everything else in the song. How about this for research--why is it that the ONLY activity on your youtube profile consists of commenting on this video? Interesting.

  • @MrMontaigo Well, consider this song our necessary action to ensure Harper doesn't happen again :) Thanks for viewing and we're glad you liked it enough to make an account and join the discussion!

  • @MrMontaigo - 1st, it wasn't billions, check ur facts. 2nd- after the scam, Libs were voted down to a minority from a majority, and subsequently- VOTED OUT! (and they also set up an inquiry) So why should the same not apply to Harper? Teflon-effect?

As for "potential plants"- you seem to subscribe to Harper's criminological theory- we know the unreported crime and criminals, guilty before proven innocent (reflected in refugee reform), and jails fix crime.. does that sum up your views?

  • @MrMontaigo

How do you defend them trying to stop student voters?

I think C. gov. knew youth would be more inclined to vote against them. So they tried to stop the votes. That is evil.

You must be some kind of incredible genius, Montaigo, if you have the ability to justify that, or posess the ability to deny how wrong it is.

Please. I'll pay you $5000 if you can teach me the art of denial. It would make my life so much easier...not having to follow moral code and all.

  • Comment removed

  • @MrMontaigo You're right--Parliament was never prorogued, a girl wasn't removed from a rally in London Ontario for having an Ignatieff pic, the conservative party did not accuse a Guelph balloting station of being run unfairly, no one had funding cut and Canadian soldiers never gave Afghan prisoners away. All complete lies that the media has told us. Those rascals are great at making things up. They're so believable even Harper has confirmed they happened himself! Astonishing.

  • Comment removed

  • @MrMontaigo Well if you fell so strongly, I hope you will get out and vote, even if it is for the Conservatives. Really, that's the point of the song if you listen carefully...exercise your democratic right. Also, please inform yourself about the correct use of the word "there", I think you actually meant "their" in your first post.

  • @MrMontaigo Well, if you feel so strongly then please exercise your democratic right to vote, even if it is for the conservatives. Also, please inform yourself about the correct usage of the word "there". I believe you meant "their" a couple of times in your first post.

  • @MrMontaigo The fact that you buy into the Conservative Agenda means to me that you are misinformed and blinded by truth.

  • Comment removed

  • stupid bitch

  • @TomJackson986 More articulate conservative drones! I'm amazed, you've dazzled me with your argument! I'm convinced that your opinion matters!

  • RIGHT ON!!!

  • you rock.... every vote should count

  • @pgman1804 used*

I have respect for all political views but not for people who make stupid YouTube comments with grammatical errors. When you feel the need to express yourself with profane words at least have the decency to spell them correctly.

  • @laurierchick11 your bashing my comment for using bad grammar and profane words? listen to the bitch in the song. she uses way more swears than I did and is only anti-harper. this snatch obviously doesnt respect everyones views. maybe if she didnt make a childish video and actually talked reasonably and didnt just say all evil is stephen harper it wouldn't piss people off. I have read both liberal and conservative platforms now and I stiill am undecided who to vote for.

  • Comment removed

  • Right on, think about what's important and get out and vote

  • That was the worst atempt at a political song i have ever heard in my life time . The cussing only makes you look like a uneducated dirt bag .

  • you are awesome! i definitely posted on my facebook wall and everyone's i know! EVERYONE VOTE!

  • @WOOT60 nah just think you need to get over yourself

    (Stereotypes too)

  • @aleksandyvt

    ARRRRGH Who's crossing my bridge!!??

  • @WOOT60 STFU or GTFO

  • @aleksandyvt

    Lol u mad bro?

  • @aleksandyvt

    Lol umad bro?

  • One more thing to add you suck get music lessons, originality is only original once by the way

  • Oh and by the way lay off the acid.

  • Vote Communist, Take away the rights of the people and crush the rebellions violently!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Для состояния!!!!!!!

  • Bazillion isn't a word.

  • @dXs420 You missed the point

  • I'm kinda in love with this girl...just saying.

  • THIS IS EPIC!

  • That was great!

  • great job!!!

  • @Rebirth1349 More like afterbirth

  • @Rebirth1349 So we have no money to work with but we have 65 millions to buy fighting planes?

  • @psych0p4t3: Um, I think you meant the $29 billion for 65 fighters (plus how ever much it will cost to put engines in them)?

  • @dysperdis oh that might be it, I'm 15 and didn't follow the electoral campaign that much (cause I can't vote anyway) so I wasn't sure.

    Even worst

  • @psych0p4t3

In case you haven't noticed the military is criticaly underfunded, so hut you slimy liberal pig mouth, a country without a strong military is vulnerable. If the liberals come to power i hope you die in a car bombing attack by the extremist scum.

  • @WOOT60

show me a single case where expanding military funding has not led to more death and suffering.

Violence always begets more violence. It always has, and always will. And there is not a single example where you can show me otherwise. The myth of self-defence is so tired and boring. We don't have wars with guns anymore. We have wars with dollars and corporations, who, by the way, make billions off of Can/U.S. military spending every year...but that's just a coincidence, right?

  • @WOOT60 I strongly doubt I will die in a car bombing seeing as the ''extremist scum'' you talk about doesn't give a shit about canada and that there are very few terrorist attacks, seeing as the army and police do a great job already, and that 29 billions for 65 planes wont do shit to protect my city from extremist scum, all it will do is waste money, the soldiers are supposed to leave afghanistan soon.

So I suggest that you return take it in the butt from harper, seems like you like it.

  • @Rebirth1349

Oh hey yet ANOTHER conservative staffer, which soon to be exMP do you work for?

  • @Rebirth1349 "half-fact babble about politics"? How Harper-esque! What is it with Tories having such an issue with an open political discourse?

You should be grovelling at this young woman's feet for being an engaged and informed voter, not trying to alienate an entire generation of already dissociated Canadians. Perhaps you "older folks" fail to realize, but your jet-loving Cons are disintegrating this country's democracy faster than it takes Harpo to butcher one rendition of "Imagine".

  • @Rebirth1349 According to your youtube page, you are 24. So I'm not sure what "young folks" you are referring to. Technically, you are also considered a "youth vote" as you are between the ages of 18 and 24. I'm also not really sure what "half-facts" you are talking about. Everything she has said is true. Regardless of whether the other parties have solid platforms, the facts are that Harper is an egomaniacal leader who almost got Canada kicked out of the Commonwealth.

  • @tallierand The "Young folks" part is self explanatory who I'm referring to: every young person, aside from myself. And by half facts, I am referring to how she leaves out rather important details in all of her points, such as the reason behind the art cuts is because art is none of the governments business, tax money is not for some high school dropout who wants funding for his paintings. I could go on, however, there is a limit to how much I can type. Enjoy.

  • @Rebirth1349 No. The government cut arts funding - that is a fact. "Art is none of the government's business" is an opinion. Now now, don't confuse opinions with facts. Taxes should go to those who need them, not to those who are already wealthy (that is ALSO an opinion, by the way. I know that confuses you). Also, I don't think you should be making crass generalizations about a group to which you belong (young people) - especially when you then try to exclude yourself from the generalization.

  • @tallierand I can indefinetely exclude myself from generalization of young people namely because I disagree with the political views of the majority of young people.

Taxes should go to the country's budget for things like military spending, infrastructure, or to cover the cost of voting ballots. Why should I have to pay money for somebody I've never met, I will never meet, and I don't care about just because he is "needy"? Lastly, spending money on art funding when we have none? Real smart.

  • @Rebirth1349 I understand what your political views are. You haven't substantiated your claim that she is presenting "half-facts". If all you have is your claim that the government was justified, well, I'm sorry, but that's really not good enough.

(Also, unless you have taken a poll of Canadian youth, you can't make a statement like that and, in fact, I know plenty of youth whose views are in line with yours.)

  • Comment removed

  • @Rebirth1349 You may think spending money on art funding is silly, but do you realize that 660,000 jobs in Canada are a part of the art industry? Did you know that should those 660,000 jobs be cut back due to inconsiderate governments that think "art" has nothing to do with them, the economy of Canada would be headed towards collapse as thousands of people would be made jobless and suddenly depend on the welfare system to support their families? What field are you in? Cut that back instead.

  • @Rebirth1349

just because he is "needy"? You clear have zero understanding of the human condition beyond the Canadian middle/upper class. We all pay taxes for services used by people we don't know. Education, health care, and those wonderful, round, bullshit pieces of metal that kill innocent Afghans.

You can and should vote for your own narrow-minded interests. By try investigating what the other 99.9% of the world experiences daily before making such inane commentary.Selfish to a tee.

  • @Rebirth1349

so you don't want "your" money going to artistic high school dropouts, eh? You're 24; how much tax have you even contributed in your life. How about medicare? I suppose you don't want your money going to the "idiot" who happens to get diabetes or have a heart attack either? Or to the hundreds of aboriginals that have been poisined thanks, in no small part, to the billions of subsidy dollars Harper throws at the Alberta oil sands?

  • @Rebirth1349

We all funded your education, though clearly our educational system leaves out compassion and humanity, as the cons would like it. Teach us to be obient wage-slave workers who praise the economy, ignore every single religious value (yes, if you claim to be religious and vote tory, you're full of shit) and ignore the fact that pretty much everything you own is 1) not necessary for life, and 2) comes at the expense at someone's suffering in a country you probably don't care about.

  • @Rebirth1349 smoke weed

  • Comment removed

  • @Rebirth1349

...and if you knew anything about how the world works beyond the theoretical b.s. in your first year econ textbook, you'd know that every succesful country in the world thrives on social programming. You should look up the term "social capital" because it is clearly foreign to you, and to the entire Harper government.

Contrary to your misinformed beliefs, the world does not run on money. What's not empty is Harper's promise to waste billions on jails and jets we don't need.

  • well done, well done

  • @zafgoesbaroque

    Circulate jacknob!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah! Great song! Hopefully social media and videos like your own will inspire young people to vote this time.

  • You're cute :3

  • Um, will you marry me?

  • Awesome job

  • well done. thanks

  • I love this song so much.

  • @MrFlagg Yeah you seem like the real green type (insert sarcasm here). I'm sure it would be a big change for you to vote conservative. This song is bang on. Anyone who actually looks into everything that Harper has done has to be either rich (and greedy) or insane to vote for him.

  • @MrFlagg you seem to think your educated. please explain your stance.

  • @MrFlagg

...so you're voting conservative out of spite?? that's awesome. way to undermine democracy. bravo. I think you have a U.S. passport coming to you in the mail.

  • That was awesome and so true. We really need to reach the youth in order for this to work.

  • I wanna date this girl :)

This girl is awesome.. wonderful song.

Straight up everyone, there isn't a single saving grace for this government... every vote is bought... and every dissenting voice crushed under the harper jackboot.
