Bill Stewart also implemented more passing which was something wvu needed, (look at the pitt game last year) and we have experienced receivers with the exception of darius reynaud. The only thing that worries me is their defense, last year's defense dominated.

Sorry Texans but Slaton is not an NFL running back. He is great running in space thanks to the spread offense of WVU. That won't happen in the NFL. He doesn't break tackles and has no power. Slaton runs out of the spread offense. He can't run between the tackles so will never make it as an every down back in the NFL. Could be a good change of pace back but nothing else. He'll be lucky to be as good as the vastly overrated Bush.

I would have to disagree. McFadden has a tendency to outrun his blockers and normally goes down on the first square hit. Slaton can shrug off defenders and extend the play. He also shows a bit more patience with his blockers. McFadden does have incredible vision though.

This is the best running back we could've drafted, considering that our two most important needs were at the Left Tackle and Cornerback positions.
Thanks to the Baltimore Ravens we were able to pull this off cause I don't think this kind of talent would've been available in our fourth round pick.

hope slaton does try for the NFL, i got tried of him fuckin up at crucial times in key games this year costing WVU everything. although slaton did have some great years at WVU its time to move on, him coming back will only hurt more than help. jock sanders and noel devine are the best players need every oppertunity now, slaton coming back and fumbling and laying down in the backfield will only kill WVU again. good riddens!

Slaton runs out of the spread offense. He can't run between the tackles so will never make it as an every down back in the NFL. Could be a good change of pace back but nothing else. He'll be lucky to be as good as the vastly overrated Bush.

Rich Rodriguez should watch this video so he can remember he has a All American RB in Steve Slaton. I do not know why his touches have dropped so drastically. Any Arkansas fan that happens to read this is going to be pissed, and probably even critique me with a few choice words but I honestly believe that Slaton will have a better NFL career than McFadden. McFadden has better vision and speed, but I don't see him break the tackles that Slaton shrugs off. Slaton also shows a bit more patience with his blockers. Unless McFadden is Barry Sanders reincarnated, look for Slaton to have a more positive post college career.

I would have to disagree. McFadden has a tendency to outrun his blockers and normally goes down on the first square hit. Slaton can shrug off defenders and extend the play. He also shows a bit more patience with his blockers. McFadden does have incredible vision though.
