  • I can't believe in all of the internet I came across your videos! Just when I was thinking "i wonder if there are any nerdfighter witches.." BAM! there you are! I subbed and can't wait to watch more of your videos.

  • @palefaceintheshadows LOL awesome! Great timing! I should advertise my channel that way, really.

  • You could just use a butter knife and steam the page open. I do that all the time to check other peoples mail lol. Then when it dries from the steam it will be fine.

  • @HippieGirlClaire But then my cover would be all wonky and not sealed like a book cover should be! Though I suppose if I wanted to risk that, I could just stick on another page. I don't know, though.

  • Books !!! : )

  • Ohhhh that is a bummer about your book :-( I wanted a Hanklerfish soooooooooooooo badly, but didn't get one. And I got green. The book is wonderful...enjoy!

  • I love to see someone that gets as emotional about books like I do. I'm not aloooone!

  • When you showed that to me at lunch, the book nerd in me was screaming wtf?! lol That sucks, I really hope you can get it fixed some way or another. I need to get into the vlogbrothers part of nerdfighteria, and the fact that there are books tempts me even further...I need more free time.

  • I'm glad I subscribed to your channel just in time for you to post (well, you haven't yet, but you said soon! lol) all of your book reviews! I am a complete biblioholic, so I am looking forward to it!! That really sucks about your messed up signed copy...but at least you can still kinda see the signature, right?? :o)

  • It gives the book more character =P

  • you forgot to thank the katherine

  • Oh nooooooo!!!!! :( UGH that sucks...

  • Oh I was noting the "savvy?" lol. I don't really know if it's a pirate thing, I guess. I just only ever heard it in Pirates of the Caribbean, and it reminded me of your pirate class.

  • @skmvw5 OH! I didn't remember it because I typed it and I only remembered what I verbally SAID. Haha, yeah, it's pirate-y.

  • maybe if John Green sees this he'll send you a signed copy himself...

  • I just finished reading TFioS before I watched your video. It is just so...I can say nothing that does not involve spoilers other than wow. One of the more poigant things I've read.

  • best wishes

  • ... it's a one of a kind... I bet you could meet John and get him to sign it in person, on camera!

  • @cerowland i kinda want to trade you, but mine is in green sharpie

  • @cerowland I do like the unique quality, and the ridiculousness of my life lol.

  • I have two grey pages too, but then comes the signature page. I didn't get a Yeti or Hanklerfish either :( That is sad they messed up your book. Oh and I was just as excited about opening my book package too! LOL I really geeked out :)

  • @LisaPie81 Hmm, so maybe the grey pages aren't as weird.

  • SO many people are talking about this book! Should I get it? I've never read any of his books before. Would you recommend it?

  • @BillyDrake155 I haven't finished it yet but I'm recommending it anyway. I recommend them all, though I haven't read them all. I have read the two I already owned, "Looking for Alaska" and "Paper Towns." I mean, it is Young Adult Fiction but I greatly enjoy it and John is such a great person in general. Find the others at a library first if you don't want to buy them before reading! They're at least worth that.

  • That sucks! I went hanklerfishing on the 10th and after 3 stores found one! So I had two copies, but I'll give one to my mom lol. That's crazy, I'm sorry your book got messed up!

  • @amandapearl2 HANKLERFISHING. I love it. Congrats!

  • Shop at barnes and noble instead :)

  • Ah that sux! I got a red signed copy...I wanted a green one...John Green in green woulda been kewl.

  • Awww! :( That's so weird. At least you have a very interesting story? Personally, all I can say is I got my package and found my jscribble, but you have a very interesting plot twist! (I also wanted to say I noticed your pirate speak. Arr.) ;) <3

  • @skmvw5 I honestly don't know to what you are referring, haha. I will have to re-watch this.

  • I love books especially when they come in the mail.

  • I'm not sure about this, but I don't think it's Amazon's fault. My money is on the publisher, whoever that was.

  • @alaskafido I'm just going by what the author said. The distributors did not order enough books so they filled orders with unsigned ones. I'm not sure what happened with mine, though. It's unique. I'm still going to contact them about it and see if I can get a new signature thingy.

  • @cutewitch772 Generally the way books are presigned, is they send a bunch a facing pages to the author, who signs them, then the books are put together, and if everything works right, they facing pages get put in the right place. Every once in awhile mistakes are made as in your case. But that's not the author's fault and not the distributor's fault, it's the publisher's fault.

  • Woww, that sucks :[

Mine was signed in my favorite color too! I was excited and also amused because it was in green and his last name is Green. Yep. Easily amused.

Anyway, I just finished reading it today, and it is awesome!

  • @KJrhythmia Yay Green!

  • OMG Looking for Alaska made my cry it was freaking good

  • I just have to point out: You said "thick" and "hard" in nearly the same sentence. Okay, I'm sorry. It's my inner 12-year-old boy.

  • @charliesaysgo No, no, I had that same reaction when I watched the final video. Oh well.

  • That sux wow how does that happen

  • @tmot4686 lol I have no idea

  • That is so strange, i never would have thought of that happening. I ordered mine and it wasn't even signed.

  • @Chillitz Yeah, he said certain distributors somehow didn't end up putting the signatures in even though he signed plenty and they all had plenty to put in the books. *shrug*

  • Technically the printer messed up rather than Amazon. You can return it to Amazon but they probably don't have any more signed copies to replace it with (though definitely check with them). You will likely have a better shot at getting a new signed copy by contacting the publisher and explaining (you could even point them to this video so they can see proof). Either way good luck!

  • @013Jayne I'm just going by what the author said. Individual Amazon distributors were having problems. Other locations got their copies right. Every copy is signed so anything I get should be, I could go to a bookstore and buy one, too.

  • thats unlucky.

  • I still think Amazon would only be the ones distributing it, so it could be the publisher's fault--BUT LEMME TELL YOU HOW I WAITED IN ANTICIPATION AFTER SEEING IT IN PERSON TODAY AND WATCHING YOUR REACTION.

LEMME TAAAAAAAAIL YOU. A GREAT LAUGH I ENJOYED. HEARTILY.

  • @GrayLady He said it was the individual distributors, because Amazon US is different than Amazon Canada is different than Amazon EverywhereElse, etc. I'ONO. BUT YEAH. GLAD YOU ENJOYED!

  • Yes contact amazon

  • You can actually contact amazon/seller on amazon and tell them you got a "defective product" (becuase the pages are in the wrong order) and they should send you a new one.

  • @PeaganPunk Wouldn't they make me send it back, though? I want my book. =(

  • @cutewitch772 Not sure. Contact the seller and see what happens I guess. I got a cd that was broken in half once. I contact the seller and they sent me a new one with out me even having to send it back.
