I am a new rapper who just put out my first ep. I'd love it if you went to my page to check it out and told me your thoughts. Thanks for the time! Take Care!
looks like those "moen" rites of passage are the most expensive if they even exist for "sale" looks like you need "linens" also looks like a droid or droids can see and track the solar flares adjusting the wind.
So you're an Atheist who believes in the Devil and God,does that make sense to you? God is the only being that can protect you from all evil. The devil is a test of faith, God loved his children more than anything including his angels, that pissed Satan off, he rebelled and was cast down along with the others who sided with him, now he's on a mission to prove that we aren't loyal at all, in your case he's right. Slave mentality? The war thats in place now is personal moral vs. social expectations
If there is the playground of the Devil, it is unbelief, and if there is one thing that the Devil is always trying to promote and maintain, it is unfaith. Hallmark of the Devil’s work from Garden to the end is unbelief, doubt of God, to question about God and God’s ways,God’s motives. That is where the Devil comes from all the time – with If God were what He says He is, then this would not be. We see thousands of ‘ifs’ and ‘buts’ of the Devil. The only victory over the Devil is faith in God.
@matmarsindicate The Devil is the only being who can defy God. Which means God is not all powerful and he/she cannot protect you. God cannot kill the Devil and the Devil still defies God with this notion. How can an omnipresent being be prevented to do good, does that make sense to you?
I am an Atheist but I can still appreciate a good song. Don't start forcing your views about slave mentality.
@Awsomo666 Forgot to add you on my first comment, sorry about that. So anyway Slave mentality? Do you not think you're a slave to social expectations? I'm not forcing any views on anyone, but you Awsomo666(great name for an atheist btw) are. You can explain to God why you didn't believe he was real when you pass away. This is a great song, I can't help that it reminds me of biblical times, the waters not safe no more. But you still swim in it.
@matmarsindicate LOL yea I created this profile a long time ago and everyone who is religious pulls me up about the numbers but hey they are just numbers. Now, what do you mean by social expectations, do you mean the common Christian values which western culture follows or the moral aspects of humanity? Slave mentality was a term used during colonial times and was a popular tool during the slave trade. It villainizes the oppressed so they don't fall out of line (In a nutshell it's a tool.)
and if you claim to be an atheist and beleive in karma your a hipocrit, like theres something out there rewarding you for your good deeds and doing justice to people who dont. lol. when humans finally grow up and realize that we're all here together regardless of who and what we are and take responsibility for the fucked up/good things we do, then we are lost in an endless spiral of non-progress and regression.
dont know if yall saw this, but they got a book out that Aesop-Rock provided info for, he tells all about how he comes up with flows and lyrics and rhyme patterns and how he notates his raps, its in the HOW' TO' RAP book thats out now.... they got-most of the best underground and classsic rappers in there...
This song means more to me than any other song I've ever listened to. Whatever his personal meaning is I have, myself, an idea of what this song is about and I don't think any other tune has hit me so personally. Truly brilliant man, instead of fighting about what he means let's just give praise where it's deserved and hope that he keeps making great, meaningful music that we all can take something out of.
The water wasn't safe to start with. This world we live in is based on lies.In my oppinion, there is a cosmic spiritual intity that watches us,its not God & its not jesus, its not allah,it just is.I don't beleive for a minute you have to worship it to acknowledge you,you just have to accept that it IS.
Life is crazy, the idea of someone watching out for us is comforting & I hold onto with 2 parts faith & 2 parts hopeing that its true.
Thats just me man & theres no point in argueing we'll never kno
@PureTeenageIgnorance do you realize that aesops an atheist? i'm not knocking any of your beliefs. but i don't that's what hes trying to get at. peace bro
@PureTeenageIgnorance seems to me that it's not about spirituality, it's about permanence and change / that which is 'used' without being expended or removed from cycle. surely the line "god had a flask I can prove it" seems in favour of naturalism and not religion (pseudo-god as equipped with a materialistic starting point.. a flask of water)
@RobKarmic He does mention a fear of God in Big Bang: "I don't really believe in God, but god, I'm scared to death of God; I swear to God I never meant to spill the beans nor tear the pod." But yeah I know what you mean. I am kinda between my beliefs, and I just wanted to say kudos to aesop. Thus why I put God in parenthesis. ;)
Holy Smokes is mostly an attack on Catholicism. I HATE Catholicism. I HATE it. I LOVE God. LOVE Him very much. Catholicism is a political attack on God. No Catholics agree with this because they're drowning in ritual, among other things.

@stillmatic91 I'll give you my interpretation of it...There is a theory of holographic universe.
He's hacking into the holographic matrix of reality. He's one of the 10,000 who understand this illusion. (possibly also a refrence to the 10,000 who will be saved in the bible). And he's tagging up every wall in the holographic universe.... kind of like a graffitti writter.
Sorry i skipped a part... The "20,000 ruby heels clicking in unison" is a refrence to the wizard of oz, where dorothy is saying "i wish i was home". To me, This is ment as a metaphor for him trying to escape reality.

all you guys are correct, record companies "push" all this bling music to sell more of their stocks in the things they are invested in. usually gun, liquor and car companies... if you listen to the radio you probably want all these things. but what most people dont understand is that you are enslaving yourself.

Even when you can't understand half the lyrics he spits, they still flow together with the song to paint a beautiful picture. Sometimes, that's all lyrics have to do, flow with the music and create a great over all feel.
@ExcellenceUSAF i agree. people dont question the amount of sensical meaning in main stream stuff but when they hear aesop rock they accuse of him spitting gibberish when all rap contains kinda pointless, meaningless lines. While not the only goal, flow and overall vibe of a song is probably the ultimate goal of music in general.
yo ive been listening to aesop for years and i think this cat is ill his music pushed me in becoming an mc but not to copy style to create my own sickness music
and thats what hiphop music is all about express yourself
@thomas9504 what? you found nothing on googe? simply type his name followed by name of song and lyrics. you should be able to find almost everything. lol, you wont find "merit" thats fo sho.
@yugo91aesop yeah, Aesop's lyrics are something that randomly click together and make sense in your mind randomly one day way after the fact. like puzzle pieces. lol
the water aint safe, the lands made of water. i hug a half empty glass my dignity tryin to pawn her, im tryin to see the future in a tea cup and a saucer but i'd rather be drinkin coffee with my cigarette foster.
Can anyone tell me the aesop rock song that goes, " I'll stich a wing with a shoe string"...Thats all i can remember. But it was an old album and i think it was the first track...anyone?
If you dont like this song...theres something wrong in your choice of music. Some abstract poetry at its finest. This and "None Shall Pass" have to be some of the best shit ever made.
Love'em! lyrics, beats. Sick sick sick, but soooo fantastic. Can't stop, can't change it. Trying to listem to this lyrics but I can't. Simply can't. Listening to this in a few moments I feel like flowing on the music. Completely separated from the environement. No drugs, just this music. Aesop rocks!
The only water, that, "ain't safe no more", is that free cup, of water one, request spontaneously at, a store, & / restaurant employed with threats to deny, a quenched thirst, if requested again, one cup, one drink, you or the, children type ultimatum, upon request ! ( Like whatchu gone do if I drink it )
dont apologize for the water not being safe anymore aesop. Its not your fault...

Here ten thousand hackers deep in a movement
Thats 20,000 crucial ruby heels clicking in unison
It's beautiful, truly beautiful
I keep a stick inside my hand
and carve my name inside every wall of the falling hologram
Can some one explain these lines please

@SNoCappidona Ah wow! thanks for that

all you guys are correct, record companies "push" all this bling music to sell more of their stocks in the things they are invested in. usually gun, liquor and car companies... if you listen to the radio you probably want all these things. but what most people dont understand is that you are enslaving yourself.

All rappers today- Rap about girls, drugs, cars, their "swagger" and other pointless stuff
Aesop, Slug, and most other underground rappers- rap about important stuff such as Life, struggle, and the sickness of the world.
Which is useful?
ShavoBuffy 1 year ago
Even when you can't understand half the lyrics he spits, they still flow together with the song to paint a beautiful picture. Sometimes, that's all lyrics have to do, flow with the music and create a great over all feel.
ExcellenceUSAF 1 year ago
@ExcellenceUSAF i agree. people dont question the amount of sensical meaning in main stream stuff but when they hear aesop rock they accuse of him spitting gibberish when all rap contains kinda pointless, meaningless lines. While not the only goal, flow and overall vibe of a song is probably the ultimate goal of music in general.
Padooshka 1 year ago
yo ive been listening to aesop for years and i think this cat is ill his music pushed me in becoming an mc but not to copy style to create my own sickness music
and thats what hiphop music is all about express yourself

If you dont like this song...theres something wrong in your choice of music. Some abstract poetry at its finest. This and "None Shall Pass" have to be some of the best shit ever made.
