DIO's voice is Epic, Vivian was Hungry, all the elements which were combined give the overall song that timeless Quality that lacks in alot of music, from yesterday and today. Although I haven't heard it a million times like DIO, Nevermore "This Godless Endeavor" has that ethereal Epic quality.

Blame Vivian for that. He's the one who wanted to go soft and play for Whitesnake and write "love songs." Dio (the band) really wasn't the same without Vivian, although Dream Evil (Goldy) and Lock up the wolves (Robertson) were pretty decent efforts. Dio's recent efforts, save for Magica, were sub-par to say the least.

I agree Dio has a more potencial voice, but Ozzy is Ozzy! Actually Ozzy is the REAL singer of Black Sabbath so that if you listen some songs of Ozzy's era sung by Dio, you can notice the difference and I think it's better Ozzy.
