Health Care is not a right. Never has been, never should be. Free health Care allows the patient to have no incentive for caring for their body, ie. exercise, nutrition, and reducing stress. The majority of those living off from my tax dollars seem to take much for granted as it cost them nothing. This Government has failed to run anything properly and this has much more to do with power than with reform. Do you really want the Government to have a say in every matter that effects your health.
WhimsicalQuandary: I don't know what you're basing those numbers on, but I suspect that you're referring to mortality rates or life expectancies. Those are not an accurate measure of "healthcare," as there are environmental, dietary, and genetic factors at work as well.
If government-run healthcare is so wonderful, why did Daniel Williams, the Canadian Premier, come to the US to get his heart surgery? Simple.....in Canada, yes it's free, but the waiting list is so long you can die waiting.

Republicans believe, with good historical reasons, that when healthcare is run by the government, it becomes less efficient, less effective, and lower quality. Republicans (and Libertarians like myself) recognize that for all the shortfalls of the free market, government always does a worse job still.
