  • great stuff from a great album

  • D.O.A was the best song

  • Sounded a lot like Grand Funk Railroad. I loved these guys. Sadly, the airwaves don't remember them.

  • ONE OF THE GREATEST BANDS !!! VERY SPECIAL RIFFS VERY SPECIAL MELODIES GOOD VACAL VERY VERY GOOD LEE PICKENS - LEGEND !!!

  • Thanks for the uploads, I listen to them with my klipsh 5 to 1 speakers and you would not believe how awsome these guys sound. I had the cops beating on my door telling me to turn it down! I my opinon really no other band can hold a candle to them.

  • Dig that muddy Terry Knight production! I love the way you can hear the slide of the guitar up the neck between phrases in the chorus: "GIRL, PLEASE BELIEVE ME--WOOSH!--i WOULDN'T CHEAT OWN YEW--WOOSH!"

  • Great song. Commercial radio sucks, figured that out about 25 years ago. Some college stations have much better programming, that's where I have heard only recently songs by the likes of Bloodrock, Blue Cheer, Uriah Heep, UFO, etc.

  • texas rock and roll at a high level

  • @mrrk0384 WOW I COULD NOE HAVE PUT IN ANY BETTER!!! LONG LIVE BLOODROCK!

  • Bloodrock, I think, I was 16, maybe 17, years young haha, it was the first concert, I had ever been to see, it was in Odessa, Texas, at the Ector County Coliseum, it was GREAT, aww memories............

  • I heard this song yesterday on Deep Tracks, have not heard this song in over twenty five years. I knew what it was right off the bat.. Stll know every drum

beat to this song. Good stuff.

  • Dad, I was thinking about ya again this morning, so I had to jam this at full blast. I'll love you always.........

  • My best friend in H.S. had this album. They remind me of the early Grand Funk Railroad, with better lead guitar but vocals not as good.

  • BACK IN THE DAY....BACK IN THE DAY!!!

  • @RandyLahey100 i think it was a wednesday

  • Deep Purple and Bloodrock, two band ,two loves

  • Boy does this bring back some memories! I was in my teens, probably junior high, when this album came out. I'm like knickd1979 up there, the classic rock stations should throw in some of these "lost" tunes once in awhile instead of the same ol' same ol' (nothin against those though!) ;-)

  • Wow! I haven't heard this in a long time. The heavy bass sounds great and the lead guitar is about as good as any that can be heard.

  • This is the band that turned me on to "acid" rock. Pickens had an amazing tone. The entire band was way ahead of their time.

  • wow, the bass has that early Mel Schacher sound (Grand Funk). I remember the group, just didn t buy any of their albums. Might have to find some now.

  • there like super expensive. even for the CDs. the CDs are 15$, becuse they are imports.

and a new bloodrock 2 on Vinyl is 40 bucks

i suppose if your a dedicated fan....

  • truly great song. to me it has a summery road trip feel and sounds great by the campfire too. there are so so so many forgotten rock gems like this out there man!!! why don't more rock stations play this song every once in awhile instead of hearing the same damn "classics" all the time. seriously, how many times u heard "more than a feeling" or "sweet home alabama" or "walk this way" this past year??? its all played out while greats like this remain buried in the archives worthy of the airwaves

  • @knickd1979 My record collection is filled with bands like these.I guess if you wern't suckin the radio programmer's dick or giving him "blow" your bands didn't get played. Just like today,.Ton's of killer metal bands from Europe that sound like 80's metal but you never hear them, Even on Sirius. There is a whole movement going on but you would never know it judging by the crap they play on today's station's.For the last 20 years I only listen to the radio for Howard and for the N.F.L. network.

  • @knickd1979 I have to agree with you there my friend, why can't they play some of this on the radio? I drive a truck and have SIRIUS radio and they never hear this on there either! I think I'll go to their web site and start requesting Bloodrock!

  • this song is so damn cool.what a killer beat and the lyrics are amazing damn i wish i had been a teenager or young adult then?

  • in texas this brimestone scalding of ones guitar always sound great DOA

  • This was a great album. I still have it. Like to hear more from it. Thanks!!

  • This song does have a grand funk feel to it.

  • This is one of the first records I ever had. Amazing...!

  • Grand Funk...?

  • No just the same producer

  • Lee Pickens is one of the most underated guitarists of all-time. To be under-rated, you have to be at least noticed, he unfortunately wasn't. Truly great!!

  • thank god for texas rock and roll, fine lookin women and the 45 long colt

  • Screw the 80's! The 70's were the good music days!

  • damn right i have to agree!u got it man!

  • it's so weird. I'm 34 years old and this is one of my favorite songs ever. Slim Pickens rips it. everytime I heard this song, it makes me think of my father. and then the tears come....

  • LOL! Slim Pickens was a rodeo performer/comedy actor. LEE Pickens is on guitar. Better lay off the Vicodin, Mr...

  • @scratchwhiplash Not to be nasty, but his nickname was slim back then, my friend. And the Vicodin are fine.

  • @MrVicodin2005 Sorry about your dad, but I know ppl who know these guys and have never heard ANYONE refer to him as slim... I stand by my comment.

  • @scratchwhiplash It's a damn shame you can't even have a memory without some know it all treading all over it. I wasn't even born when this came out. I heard my father call him Slim Pickens, that's all I know. In the end, it doesn't matter if it was nose pickens. If I'm wrong, who gives a shit. I love my father and this song. Damnit.

  • @MrVicodin2005 Relax. I'm not treading on anyone's memories. I merely found it humorous that you referred to him as Slim Pickens, as he is a real person. If you know who the real Slim Pickens is and picture him jamming with Bloodrock, then you would see where I'm coming from. Again, sorry about your dad. May he rest in peace.

  • Man, How about that guitar solo at 5:20! Holy Shit...Pickens wailing on lead! 1971 no less!...

  • loved the...70 .ies and blood too

  • Thanks from Lampasas, Texas.

  • Thanks for posting this video. Had their 3 albums when they first came out...brings back memories.

The lead guitar on this song is excellent for this era. Would love to know what kind of guitar/amp Pickens used on this song.

  • From photos it looks like Pickens used a '56 Les Paul gold top. From the sound it's obvious he had the pickup switch in the treble position. He also used the trick of having his wah-wah peddle in the 3/4 off position giving an unusual, but identifiable, sound used by many guitarists of that era. Amp sounds very Fender-ish.

  • Saw these guys in Little Rock, Arkansas with Steppenwolf.......1971. Pickens used a Les Paul. I named my daughter "Jessica" so you know how I loved this band.

  • I'm 34 years old and I've heard my father jam on Bloodrock for as long as i can remember. Damn, I wasn't even born when this came out, but it rocks. I love ya dad.

  • I`m workin` hard tonight on thier playlist. I watched them too in `70 with free at the old SF Filmore.

    5*****

  • Another great Bloodrock tune! The bass on this is so strong my speaker on the left has a fit! I play this on bass. ck my 1st youtubevid of Jessica on bass with the stereo!

  • Yep. I have to cut back the level to my subwoofer or else everything starts moving around on my computer desk.

  • can you post sable and pearl?

  • OK....don't know how soon I can do it, but I will upload it ASAP.

  • Saw them in concert....... great!

  • Yes, I might have been passing the joint over to ya!

  • So that was YOU???? LOL
