As kids growing up in Hawaii, we used to hunt these things with .22 caliber and .177, I believe, pellet guns. It's no wonder these creatures are some of the oldest still existing forms of life not far removed, as a species, from their original form. Quite resilient. Felt like big game hunters within the confines of my own backyard.

The Hawaiian roach is also known as the Hawaiian State Bird as they fly. More often than not straight away into your very own face and THAT will get your attention no matter how tough you think you may be. LOL.

just grab like 5 bigger gekos from outside and bring them in if they find the roaches they will stay in your house to eat them for as long as their is food meaning more bugs in your house ... super handy little guys

those kind of roaches are the ones I'm scared of. one time it was in the bathroom. when i saw it, it flew towards me, and i screamed!! luckily it wasnt aiming for me, but it was SOOO scary!! i hate it!! :P

@dombigdjr that is absolutely untrue. Roaches have developed a stigma for presumably being filthy because they can be found near trash or sewers, but roaches can be found ANYWHERE. It has nothing to do with cleanliness. In fact, cockroaches are usually germ-free, constantly grooming themselves and no evidence has ever proven that any human has ever gotten sick from one.
