@MrKookoobananas - they typically don't "compete". They have traveled to Kathamiux in BC in years past which is a competition of a sort, and they also participated in Festival 500 in St Johns in 2005. Mostly they perform locally and then in summers travel to share their music. This summer they are traveling to Iceland, Finland and Estonia.
@starkravingbiker So... They dont compete? They should ;D! .. my womans Choir In Crestview florida, is wounderful ^^ take it from a freshman thats been in choir for 4 or 5 yrs. but our choir is going to canda ;] Hope yall do awesome! -Reid
The seniors in my high school choir are singing this... my best friend is a senior and when they sing this at the concert i am going to cry my eyes out
i loved singing with norwest girl choir! it taught me so much about sight reading, tone and beautiful singing. i am now in the UCLA Chorale, a collegiate co-ed choir and I am so grateful to have had the 9 years of experience in NWGC. I think the comments about unoriginality are very wrong. we all worked extremely hard in that choir and were very successful in festivals all over the world. I am proud to say that I sang in this Ensemble two years ago (ps thats me on the right in the last row) :)
Mac, you are spot on. It was my privilege to listen to you all sing for so many years, and you just kept getting better and better every year. Folks can have issues with an arrangement, but there is no denying how well you all always delivered. I'm so glad to hear that you are continuing to sing.
Wow. There are a lot of shitty choir videos on YouTube, but this one is pretty good. The balance is good and none of the sections overpower the others. These girls are talented.
I love the sound of the harmonie with many of these choral verssions of For Good but they all have the same sort of sound...:/ There is no originality...''Wot the hells wrong with expressing yourself'' and doing something different?? lol
why do people always use the shitty karaoke version to this song?? I didnt like this at all, although the harmonies were good. It sounded too uniformed, it completley wrecked the song
It's actually just the SSA arrangement of the song, so all the voice parts are kept in a good range and it balances well for a choir. Damn. Why do people never get that a choir of thrity people can't sing a DUET straight as it was written without it sounding really REALLY bad.
I agree choirs cant sing duets... so why choose one of the most beautiful duets ever written? You should have sung something like NOMTW or one short day, songs that were actually written for a large number of people to sing them.
bipp, there is a fair expense to joining and families must often make choices. It is my personal belief that music education is important. For a high quality choral music experience, and yes, education, NWGC is the place for young women who want to sing to be. Look on their website, take your family to their holiday concert in December and listen to the extraordinary music they make. And then have the conversation again. Good luck.
It wasn't me, but my daughter that came with the choir. I know she had a great time and enjoyed everyone she met. Thank you for being such gracious hosts.
wow you guys are a whole lot better than my school choir you have strong voices we have like 75 girls in mine and they barely sing.. but then again their just taking that class cause its easy but this is realllly goood :]
The short answer is yes. But the full choir was also very good last year too. These girls were picked to a great extent on vocal talent but also on their dedication to the additional time and material requirements.
We did this in choir last year as the last song of the last concert, taking the SSA arrangement and expanding it to SSATTB. As a parting song, it's particularly meaningful...
Lol, that's my head at 0:14
I'm in vivace now and i have to say this is one of the most awesome performances ever. WE never get to to sing wicked songs :(
