  • thanx for this!!...

  • anyone know if daxx tours anymore I have not heard anything about it

  • @4645Chris i saw him in 2010 in fort worth

  • One of the greatest songs ever written.

  • Giving thanks today... Thank you for all the views. I would have spent more time on this video if I had known how many views it would get. Thank you for the good times and the bad. And Thank you Dax for writing this music that has haunted my life for so long....

    damn dirty hippy

  • Never even heard of acid bath until about a year ago. Started trying to find out what this unique sound was all about. Of course I started with Dax. I am now here, at this video. This was one of the best songs I've ever heard in my life.

  • Great song and lyrics

  • How is someone like John Mayer so popular when a true god like Dax is not nearly as well known, people are fucking idiots.

  • @vocelot8 his lyrics are to dark for mainstream to ever sighn him

  • @vocelot8 Who the fuck is John Mayer?

  • @vocelot8 and i have never to my knowledge heard an actual john mayer song, if it werent for dave chappelle show i wouldnt even know who he is.

  • Wasn't alive to see The Doors, Beatles, Zeppelin, et al in their heydays, but damnit, I have Dax -- not that I'm putting him on their level, but he means to me what those artists did to their fans back in the day.

  • this song has been my salvation. it has led me away from the edge of a long fall. i cant beleive how influential one voice can be over a voice of reason.

  • @h8n4s8n i know how you feel it feels like his voice pulls you back from the edge and holds you and tells you everything is alright then leads you away and brings you to his home and tells you can stay there until you get back on your feet and then he makes you some food and lets you have his bed and you stay there for awhile maybe too long and he tells you you should get a job but you put it off for too long then you finally get a job and he gives you a bill and yur like...the fuck?

  • @myloveispuke that is a very contemplative comment there bro thats awesome

  • @myloveispuke and he charges you $35,000

  • @4645Chris nigger what this ain't the ritz.

  • I love this version of the song. I still wish my cd worked though :(

  • He always makes me feel better, isn't that what a good song writer is supposed to do! I know now a days these musicians are far between, but Dax is one.

  • What album is this from?

  • LA PEOPLE HAVE NO TASTE IN MUSIC...DAX showed up in Los Angeles, and only 75 people showed up. 75 true fans...This man has a golden voice just like Leonard Cohen.

  • @MadMindStudios Really :/ wonder how many showed up in SF? It was on tuesday I coundnt make it very disappointing lol he should go to chico!

  • i wonder if any one else feels this song as much as i do makes happy and little tearful at the same time

  • @kaoslife2386 yes

  • good stuff if I do say so my self... cp

  • u know if he die right now he'll become bigger than Elvis

  • @melefic1e

Oh hell yeah he would. Isn't a shame though, that it takes an artist's death for him/her to get the recognition they deserve? (i.e. Nick Drake)

  • @strangefamousjuggalo the great like gg allin

  • @melefic1e Nah, he'd still just have a cult following. He's too smart to be famous.

  • I still wanna find this version, that site don't work.

  • @FOODSTAMPMAFlA

I have this original demo cd. Bought it yeeeaaars ago when it fist came out. . Not sure if it is available anywhere anymore. I wonder if I could send songs to you through email? I am kinda tech-tarted.

  • @ZaharaYukon its not a big deal, i will continue to listen to your video, but thanks!

  • @FOODSTAMPMAFlA

Let me know if u want it

  • I think I can do better than 100 views on my video response from a bunch of Dax Riggs fans. We're the greatest fans in the world, damnit! I'm willing to bet at least half of you could appreciate my music, as well. I'm no Dax, but I think I'm better than what they'll play you if you turn on the radio.

  • Don't seem like no voice exists that could eclipse his. I am in love with Dax's voice and have been since Acid Bath.

  • I'm a huge fan of Acid Bath's first album, and I listen to it all the time. At first I hated this folk stuff, but It's really growing on me. I fucking love it.. I still wish Acid Bath was around, but this is pretty cool. I'll admit, I'm a metalhead, but I still like exploring other genres, and I see myself listening to this for a while.

  • @haropro2 I'm a die hard Acid Bath fan, too. I'm from North Louisiana and saw them in concert when I was 18 (1996). Although, this song is insanely beautiful. His voice is hauntingly pleasant!

  • OMG i havent heard this version in soooo long. This was released locally on a 7 song demo back in the late 90's! sooo many good versions of Deadboys songs on there.

  • all my friends like him..first song i ever heard i like it tho..kinda like lynard skynard meets ozzy osborne

  • he is my god, LOVE THIS..

  • My fav song by him!

  • Dax is freakin amazing! Im in love with his voice, very talented<3

  • This is AMAZING!!!

  • Dax Riggs has the most beautiful voice

  • I love the feeling this song gives you!!!!!

  • What kind of Muse is this dude channeling ?

    FUCKING. AMAZING !

  • too bad skeletalcircus is no longer up :(

  • One of my favs by Dax although i havent heard a bad one yet!!

  • Man this is really good...

..it reminds me of how much I wish Dax would go back to eating hand-fulls of drugs and writing songs about the devil. Is that... is that the emotion you think he was going for with this song? Death metal nostalgia?

  • dex rigg's is the man.

  • this song makes me cry

  • Por la gran puta, ke rola tan intensa, ke letra, ke forma de cantar, es simplemente fantastico, de otro mundo. Dax es un genio por ke vive el momento para interpretar sus canciones. excelente. Me gusta mucho mas esta version.

  • DAx is the greatest vocalist of our time...I thank truly the sweet soul that introduced me to him /acid bath.....thx Nick :)

  • LOVE THIS SONG , HIS VOICE IS AMAZING!!

  • brilliant song,brilliant band, AMAZING voice.....ga'damnit, Dax.....*sigh*

  • i love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love Dax Riggs !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the world is a better place because of this song.

  • @turtle650hmb Fuck Sublime? I love sublime and Dax. I mean, even if you don't like sublime there are a million worse bands you could have picked. Go listen to the jonas brothers or fall out boy.

  • @Lateralus8808 , FOR REAL. SOME PEOPLE JUST DON'T HAVE THE MENTAL CAPACITY TO OBTAIN SUBSTANCE FROM SUCH GREAT MUSIC... OH WELL. THAT'S THIER LOSS... MORE FOR ME!!!

  • Dax fans are pretty intense. Myself included.

  • One of the best songs nobody's ever heard.

  • i live in a little town called deville, louisiana of course,Dax is my biggest inspiration as a musician, once again,so damn soulful

  • This song makes me cry. So perfect and beautiful.

  • dax riggs is one of the most soulfull and passionate musicians ive ever heard...thank you dax

  • Comment removed

  • kudos to my oldest son for turning me on to this entrancing artist! a dark and lovely lullybye, thank you for sharing!

  • This song floats me away. Love.

  • Legend!!! <3

  • the cold of death

    it may tear you

    from my breast

    yet i know

    you are the smoke

    that is my breath

  • this guy reminds me of somebody, just dont know who yet!!!!!

  • John lennon...

  • how dare you compare dax riggs to somebody!!!! HE IS THE GOD OF MUSIC

  • Chris Cornell? I think I heard him sing a song similar to this just that I forgot what it was...or maybe it was someone else >.>

  • oh thanks, i think thats who i was thinking of!!!!

  • dax is my god!!! the man with the golden voice

  • @TheJockstrap99 ah i see why you are angry at my video - im not pretending that song is by Dax Riggs - but DaxRiggs happens to be my username on a forum!!!! sorry for confusion.

  • That shot of the buck on the wall is kinda eerie.

  • This song helps me unwind at the end of the day. Every night it puts me in a state of relaxation i've never experienced anywhere else

  • thats exactly what ima doin now...... along with a little wine....

    to live, is to die.....

  • Goddamn this is a good song.

  • lovely song .

  • I absolutely love this medicine. I'm healed. I'm calm. I'm happy. I'm still. My blood pressure is probably that of a marathon runner at this moment. I can barely move my fingers to type. Thank you bourbon and angel Dax.

  • ACidBATh PLZZZZZZ COME BACK

  • It will never be acid bath with out Audie... it was better for dax and the rest of the band move on.

  • Yeah. Acid Bath is definitely my favorite band any of the members were in, but everyone did the right thing. I love both Dax Rigg's work be it Agents of Oblivion, Deadboy boy or just Dax Riggs and I also love Sammy Duet's Goatwhore and Ritual Killer. They are both legendary musicians.

  • Have you heard of Dax's band Daisyhead and the Mooncrickets? My favourite song by them is As Gone As Gone Can Be. Acid Bath is my favourite band ever, but the music that the members spawned after the fact was just fucking awesome.

  • @mustaineaddict Thats what I was thinkin

  • Comment removed

  • ok... where can I find this version of this song? This is NOT the version on deadboy's first album..... thanks for any help...!!

  • read the video info...

  • @codyincharge little did we know....

  • @codyincharge little did we know....

  • this was on their real first album but was re-release under "If this is Hell then I'm luck" Dax Rigg... look it up on iTunes.

  • yes... I have "If This is Hell....", but obvioulsy this version isn't on it. What was the name of the first album/demo?

  • You're right. I used to have this version too (in early 2000 i think) but it was never released. It was their first recording of the album but then they re-did it for the release. The original was much better and I wish I still had it.

  • @GABER222 this is off the demo of If This Is Hell, Then I'm Lucky

  • @GABER222 it's either Possum records, or Fat Possum Records, not quite sure. You can find the new album there. Do you know where I can get the old one?

  • @GABER222 sounds the same as the album track to me...the demo and album tracks are very different.

  • @GABER222 you don't have the 1st album, I never released it but in a demo form.... 8 song demo ,recorded by Dax and my self in my house after agents broke up...

  • @GABER222 you don't have the 1st album, I never released it but in a demo form.... 8 song demo ,recorded by Dax and my self in my house after agents broke up... before we had are falling out...

  • Dax has always sang using his emotion of the moment .... pure raw emotion and feeling are rare in lead singers. it makes better music than just imagination. look at like layne staley, maynard james keenen, mike patton, mark sandman, todd smith... ect. if you keep your eye open you can find good musicians. but good luck........ 90percent of music is crap. not because they suck at music. they suck at opening there mind and expanding there talent. without being told what to do... baaabaaabaaa

  • you are very right =]

and yeah we dont need any more sheeps in the music industry. lol

  • That is probaly the best way to put that. I couldnt have said it better my self minus the 90% part. I would of said 90% of popular music cause in the underground there is alot of good stuff for instance this artist.

  • brilliant.

  • late response i know...but you are 100% correct. I had the pleasure of drinking a couple of beers with Dax and Tess a couple years ago at the Crocodile Cafe in Seattle. And I must say that he is the most original singer/musician around. His soul burns like fire through his music.

  • @buddhabomber Couldn't agree more man; Maynard, Layne, and Dax are probably my favorite singers ever.

  • @Lateralus8808 best comment

  • @buddhabomber Hey I'm so glad you mentioned Mark Sandman. He is one of my favorites along with Dax. To anyone reading this who has never heard of Morphine/Mark Sandman should definitely check them out. They're an amazing trio.

  • mmm i'm quite surprised..i never heard of this guy but in the uk if u dont look for good music u dont find it as our music scene is bullshit..not mine cos i live in mine but the majority of uk people are fucking sheep when it comes to music..By the way this track kinda has an old biker feel to it or am i wrong guys..

  • I really love Dax and All the music he works on... This song is incredible.

  • Another hidden gem from dax

  • simply amazing...

  • this guy is fucking awesome

  • I've never seen an even semi negative or neutral comment on this guy yet on YouTube. The feedback here is always overwhelmingly positive. It's interesting because major labels still apparently give Dax a hard time due to his lyrical content and he doesn't care because he loves what he does and wouldn't change it anyway. This guy certainly has his following of fans that appear to be die hard and understandably so!

  • Dax fans are almost always hardcore.. Its rare to find someone that like his music that doesn't fucking live and breath it.. Glad you found the music if you want to really hear what you've been missing go to skeletalcircus man you won't be disappointed

  • @codyincharge glad to know other folks get inside his music as me.

  • @codyincharge absolutely. check out michale graves. he is pretty good as well

  • HE is a true artist. I got to meet him in Lafayette,La so amazingly Brilliant

  • @dlguitardude well said man!i been following dax since his mooncricket days, and he just gets better and better!

  • @dlguitardude you got that right the biggest he ever got was AcidBaths dead girl... he Fn jammed hard back then and he has all the *voice * and talent that Chris cornell has and he is almost a legend now ..Dax hits me in anger..love..depression ... he catches every emotion ...LOVE DAX FOREVER

    \

  • @dlguitardude it dose not get any better than this song

im glad he dose not try to write some for the radio it

  • Not only did I find Dax and his amazing bands, pathetically, AND unfortunately perhaps, until recently. How I've owned all of over 1000 albums for over 30 damn Yrs since I was shitting my diapers+got into the underground of music at a real young age too,I'm baffled by the fact that since the 90's until now,I never bothered to try out AcidBath, thinking that they were a basic death metal band based on their name alone(dumb view, huh?).I never really heard of any of this until now+THANK GOODNESS I DID!

  • Yeah, I grew up on him, I'm glad that his music grew up right along with me. Acid bath is good, great probably some of my most favorite stuff, but it takes me back to a middle school/high school frame of mind, His newer stuff fits my life where I'm at now lol... Almost 30 hahah

  • I know what you're saying regarding the age factor because I'm35.I've been in the same musical patterns as Dax as far as the bands that I've been in+the ones that I had the opportunities to be play w/+fill in for.I played the heavier stuff which my fondness for doesn't go away w/age but I also love writing on my acoustic the same type of moodier, emotive yet mellower songs much like Dax's post AB stuff.I actually just found out about this guy after owning 1000 CD's like I was living under a rock!

  • (Cont)I guess better late than never because I really know the feeling he is projecting w/his music+find so many similarities. I thought I was maybe doing something pretty original w/out knowing that this guy existed. Damn, I can really get into this stuff+relate to it so well as I use it as some sort of medication for the things that don't always go so right. It's just weird that it's been around since the mid 90's+I only heard of the band AB w/out actually hearing them due to little promotion.

  • Cool! I can relate to this progression you speak of; however, I still love all the old, heavy stuff I did when I was young too! As long as it clicks w/me in a REAL, EMOTIONAL way, that I can CONNECT with - then this is what primarily matters as far as my tastes go musically!

  • This guy is TRULY a REAL, REAL UNSUNG HERO MUSICIAN!! HE epitomizes the word REAL!!! DAXX Riggs!!!!

  • Fucking love this song....

love dax riggs, and acid bath.

  • His voice has so much soul and emotion in it, his music really does just transport you to another world.

  • SO damn true! Especially this song! This tune literally blows me the fuck away like very few others on my lifetime! This is SO DAMN REAL/HEARTFELT that the simultaneous chills/tears/smiles that I get when I hear it, HEAL MY FUCKING SOUL!! Now THAT is MUSIC!!!

    Be good!

  • Dax Riggs is an amazing man. Beautiful voice, beautiful lyrics, beautiful music. Fucking amazing.

  • Very well put! Keep in mind that not everyone would put it this way, but those who do, really can enjoy a great privilege in life - healing from music!

I do belive it requires a certain type of characteristic(s) to really embrace and understand this. This song in particular, is one of the best I've ever heard!! Almost TOO fucking moving/emotive/real/EVERYTHING that is COOL about music!!!

  • does anybody know were i can get a dax cd

  • shit dude it's not easy where i'm from. acid bath or agents of oblivion are a little easier but still pretty difficult i'd say order it

  • check out skeletalcircus(dot)com

  • @calixram try forumw

  • dax= il più grande..

  • my favorite singer ever

  • No better voice living today. From Acid Bath to his solo career... Truly amazing.

  • wow what a voice, dax is sick

  • hey man. im naked!! K

  • dax is the man

  • This is so beautiful. I love it.

  • He has such a beautiful voice. It gives me goosebumps everytime I hear him sing. Cool video! :]

  • Out of every Dax related song, this one touches me the most.

  • Completely agreed! Not to say the rest don't kick ass too but this is one of the most moving songs I've known in my 30 Yrs of music!

  • Mind boggling Dax, you surprise me bro

  • hey like all the austin pics of dax hahah

    luv ya

  • Can someone please tell me where this song can be found? Is this part of his solo work or what?

  • If this is hell then I'm lucky

this is the demo. You can get it @ skeletalcircus(dot)com

  • This is fuckin' great! LOVE HIM!!!! LOVE Acid Bath and Agent's too. Dax is a phenomenal musician.

  • This is a great montage, to a great song, by the way. Thanks!

  • word.

  • Dax Riggs is an amazing artist, way ahead of his time. I love Dax!!! The naysayers just don't get it...I am very happy that Dax is with us in this lifetime for us to appreciate!!!

  • Don't know if he's "ahead of the time" since folk has been around for ages. He's okay, I still liked him in Acid Bath.

    T_T

  • What an awesome song!

  • man... he lost his touch. went from bad ass in acid bath to this?

this just seems like a huge waste of talent to me.

  • Man, you're an idiot. If you can't see the talent in this, then you must not think Dax has any talent. How do you compare Dax's "high school" band (his description) with the music he's making in his thirties? He's aged, he's grown up. You should too.

  • And...it's better than any music you'll ever make...

  • That's silly. Quit trying to be clever.

  • acid bath was a brilliant mix of all kinds of music, but still very heavy and simply badass. the same aspect of dax that made acid bath so good is the same aspect that makes his music now not so well received to the old fans. is voice is amazing, but this new stuff just isn't my style.

  • I am a fan of Acid Bath from the beginning and am soooo into Acid Bath and Agent's but I also fucking LOVE Dax solo and know lots of old fans who do. But I have always been into Jeff Buckley, Johnny Cash, Leonord Cohen, and many other emotive solo artist, so that could be why I suppose.

  • Well get the hell out of here and go finish whacking off to N'Sync. Let the rest of us over the age of twelve and who know what true music is enjoy our Dax. In short, PISS OFF.

  • By the way, me and RoseBlackcadillac are speaking to AeturnalNarcosis who is obviously a buffoon.

  • you fuckin' dick grrrowl:(

  • Go shoot yourself. You are obviously a fucking idiot

  • there are so many demo recordings and everything its hard for me to keep up. but this is from the if this is hell i'm lucky demo...

often times with this artist the demo's end-up as my favs...

  • what album can I find this great song on?

  • ...but he had said that when he and Sammy first started together, he was 16 -- and he sure looked young in that barn; you're right.
