Giving thanks today... Thank you for all the views. I would have spent more time on this video if I had known how many views it would get. Thank you for the good times and the bad. And Thank you Dax for writing this music that has haunted my life for so long....
Never even heard of acid bath until about a year ago. Started trying to find out what this unique sound was all about. Of course I started with Dax. I am now here, at this video. This was one of the best songs I've ever heard in my life.
Wasn't alive to see The Doors, Beatles, Zeppelin, et al in their heydays, but damnit, I have Dax -- not that I'm putting him on their level, but he means to me what those artists did to their fans back in the day.
this song has been my salvation. it has led me away from the edge of a long fall. i cant beleive how influential one voice can be over a voice of reason.
@h8n4s8n i know how you feel it feels like his voice pulls you back from the edge and holds you and tells you everything is alright then leads you away and brings you to his home and tells you can stay there until you get back on your feet and then he makes you some food and lets you have his bed and you stay there for awhile maybe too long and he tells you you should get a job but you put it off for too long then you finally get a job and he gives you a bill and yur like...the fuck?
He always makes me feel better, isn't that what a good song writer is supposed to do! I know now a days these musicians are far between, but Dax is one.
LA PEOPLE HAVE NO TASTE IN MUSIC...DAX showed up in Los Angeles, and only 75 people showed up. 75 true fans...This man has a golden voice just like Leonard Cohen.
I have this original demo cd. Bought it yeeeaaars ago when it fist came out. . Not sure if it is available anywhere anymore. I wonder if I could send songs to you through email? I am kinda tech-tarted.

I think I can do better than 100 views on my video response from a bunch of Dax Riggs fans. We're the greatest fans in the world, damnit! I'm willing to bet at least half of you could appreciate my music, as well. I'm no Dax, but I think I'm better than what they'll play you if you turn on the radio.
I'm a huge fan of Acid Bath's first album, and I listen to it all the time. At first I hated this folk stuff, but It's really growing on me. I fucking love it.. I still wish Acid Bath was around, but this is pretty cool. I'll admit, I'm a metalhead, but I still like exploring other genres, and I see myself listening to this for a while.
@haropro2 I'm a die hard Acid Bath fan, too. I'm from North Louisiana and saw them in concert when I was 18 (1996). Although, this song is insanely beautiful. His voice is hauntingly pleasant!
OMG i havent heard this version in soooo long. This was released locally on a 7 song demo back in the late 90's! sooo many good versions of Deadboys songs on there.
..it reminds me of how much I wish Dax would go back to eating hand-fulls of drugs and writing songs about the devil. Is that... is that the emotion you think he was going for with this song? Death metal nostalgia?

@turtle650hmb Fuck Sublime? I love sublime and Dax. I mean, even if you don't like sublime there are a million worse bands you could have picked. Go listen to the jonas brothers or fall out boy.
@Lateralus8808 , FOR REAL. SOME PEOPLE JUST DON'T HAVE THE MENTAL CAPACITY TO OBTAIN SUBSTANCE FROM SUCH GREAT MUSIC... OH WELL. THAT'S THIER LOSS... MORE FOR ME!!!
@TheJockstrap99 ah i see why you are angry at my video - im not pretending that song is by Dax Riggs - but DaxRiggs happens to be my username on a forum!!!! sorry for confusion.
I absolutely love this medicine. I'm healed. I'm calm. I'm happy. I'm still. My blood pressure is probably that of a marathon runner at this moment. I can barely move my fingers to type. Thank you bourbon and angel Dax.
Yeah. Acid Bath is definitely my favorite band any of the members were in, but everyone did the right thing. I love both Dax Rigg's work be it Agents of Oblivion, Deadboy boy or just Dax Riggs and I also love Sammy Duet's Goatwhore and Ritual Killer. They are both legendary musicians.
Have you heard of Dax's band Daisyhead and the Mooncrickets? My favourite song by them is As Gone As Gone Can Be. Acid Bath is my favourite band ever, but the music that the members spawned after the fact was just fucking awesome.

Dax has always sang using his emotion of the moment .... pure raw emotion and feeling are rare in lead singers. it makes better music than just imagination. look at like layne staley, maynard james keenen, mike patton, mark sandman, todd smith... ect. if you keep your eye open you can find good musicians. but good luck........ 90percent of music is crap. not because they suck at music. they suck at opening there mind and expanding there talent. without being told what to do... baaabaaabaaa
That is probaly the best way to put that. I couldnt have said it better my self minus the 90% part. I would of said 90% of popular music cause in the underground there is alot of good stuff for instance this artist.
late response i know...but you are 100% correct. I had the pleasure of drinking a couple of beers with Dax and Tess a couple years ago at the Crocodile Cafe in Seattle. And I must say that he is the most original singer/musician around. His soul burns like fire through his music.
@buddhabomber Hey I'm so glad you mentioned Mark Sandman. He is one of my favorites along with Dax. To anyone reading this who has never heard of Morphine/Mark Sandman should definitely check them out. They're an amazing trio.
mmm i'm quite surprised..i never heard of this guy but in the uk if u dont look for good music u dont find it as our music scene is bullshit..not mine cos i live in mine but the majority of uk people are fucking sheep when it comes to music..By the way this track kinda has an old biker feel to it or am i wrong guys..
I've never seen an even semi negative or neutral comment on this guy yet on YouTube. The feedback here is always overwhelmingly positive. It's interesting because major labels still apparently give Dax a hard time due to his lyrical content and he doesn't care because he loves what he does and wouldn't change it anyway. This guy certainly has his following of fans that appear to be die hard and understandably so!
Dax fans are almost always hardcore.. Its rare to find someone that like his music that doesn't fucking live and breath it.. Glad you found the music if you want to really hear what you've been missing go to skeletalcircus man you won't be disappointed
@dlguitardude you got that right the biggest he ever got was AcidBaths dead girl... he Fn jammed hard back then and he has all the *voice * and talent that Chris cornell has and he is almost a legend now ..Dax hits me in anger..love..depression ... he catches every emotion ...LOVE DAX FOREVER
Not only did I find Dax and his amazing bands, pathetically, AND unfortunately perhaps, until recently. How I've owned all of over 1000 albums for over 30 damn Yrs since I was shitting my diapers+got into the underground of music at a real young age too,I'm baffled by the fact that since the 90's until now,I never bothered to try out AcidBath, thinking that they were a basic death metal band based on their name alone(dumb view, huh?).I never really heard of any of this until now+THANK GOODNESS I DID!
Yeah, I grew up on him, I'm glad that his music grew up right along with me. Acid bath is good, great probably some of my most favorite stuff, but it takes me back to a middle school/high school frame of mind, His newer stuff fits my life where I'm at now lol... Almost 30 hahah
I know what you're saying regarding the age factor because I'm35.I've been in the same musical patterns as Dax as far as the bands that I've been in+the ones that I had the opportunities to be play w/+fill in for.I played the heavier stuff which my fondness for doesn't go away w/age but I also love writing on my acoustic the same type of moodier, emotive yet mellower songs much like Dax's post AB stuff.I actually just found out about this guy after owning 1000 CD's like I was living under a rock!
(Cont)I guess better late than never because I really know the feeling he is projecting w/his music+find so many similarities. I thought I was maybe doing something pretty original w/out knowing that this guy existed. Damn, I can really get into this stuff+relate to it so well as I use it as some sort of medication for the things that don't always go so right. It's just weird that it's been around since the mid 90's+I only heard of the band AB w/out actually hearing them due to little promotion.
Cool! I can relate to this progression you speak of; however, I still love all the old, heavy stuff I did when I was young too! As long as it clicks w/me in a REAL, EMOTIONAL way, that I can CONNECT with - then this is what primarily matters as far as my tastes go musically!
SO damn true! Especially this song! This tune literally blows me the fuck away like very few others on my lifetime! This is SO DAMN REAL/HEARTFELT that the simultaneous chills/tears/smiles that I get when I hear it, HEAL MY FUCKING SOUL!! Now THAT is MUSIC!!!
Very well put! Keep in mind that not everyone would put it this way, but those who do, really can enjoy a great privilege in life - healing from music!
I do belive it requires a certain type of characteristic(s) to really embrace and understand this. This song in particular, is one of the best I've ever heard!! Almost TOO fucking moving/emotive/real/EVERYTHING that is COOL about music!!!
Dax Riggs is an amazing artist, way ahead of his time. I love Dax!!! The naysayers just don't get it...I am very happy that Dax is with us in this lifetime for us to appreciate!!!
Man, you're an idiot. If you can't see the talent in this, then you must not think Dax has any talent. How do you compare Dax's "high school" band (his description) with the music he's making in his thirties? He's aged, he's grown up. You should too.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
i don't make music... but if i did, i can guarantee that it wouldn't make monks fall asleep out of sheer boredom, as is the case with this "musical" abomination.
acid bath was a brilliant mix of all kinds of music, but still very heavy and simply badass. the same aspect of dax that made acid bath so good is the same aspect that makes his music now not so well received to the old fans. is voice is amazing, but this new stuff just isn't my style.
I am a fan of Acid Bath from the beginning and am soooo into Acid Bath and Agent's but I also fucking LOVE Dax solo and know lots of old fans who do. But I have always been into Jeff Buckley, Johnny Cash, Leonord Cohen, and many other emotive solo artist, so that could be why I suppose.
Well get the hell out of here and go finish whacking off to N'Sync. Let the rest of us over the age of twelve and who know what true music is enjoy our Dax. In short, PISS OFF.
thanx for this!!...

Not only did I find Dax and his amazing bands, pathetically, AND unfortunately perhaps, until recently. How I've owned all of over 1000 albums for over 30 damn Yrs since I was shitting my diapers+got into the underground of music at a real young age too,I'm baffled by the fact that since the 90's until now,I never bothered to try out AcidBath, thinking that they were a basic death metal band based on their name alone(dumb view, huh?).I never really heard of any of this until now+THANK GOODNESS I DID!
dlguitardude 2 years ago
Yeah, I grew up on him, I'm glad that his music grew up right along with me. Acid bath is good, great probably some of my most favorite stuff, but it takes me back to a middle school/high school frame of mind, His newer stuff fits my life where I'm at now lol... Almost 30 hahah

I know what you're saying regarding the age factor because I'm35.I've been in the same musical patterns as Dax as far as the bands that I've been in+the ones that I had the opportunities to be play w/+fill in for.I played the heavier stuff which my fondness for doesn't go away w/age but I also love writing on my acoustic the same type of moodier, emotive yet mellower songs much like Dax's post AB stuff.I actually just found out about this guy after owning 1000 CD's like I was living under a rock!
dlguitardude 2 years ago
(Cont)I guess better late than never because I really know the feeling he is projecting w/his music+find so many similarities. I thought I was maybe doing something pretty original w/out knowing that this guy existed. Damn, I can really get into this stuff+relate to it so well as I use it as some sort of medication for the things that don't always go so right. It's just weird that it's been around since the mid 90's+I only heard of the band AB w/out actually hearing them due to little promotion.
dlguitardude 2 years ago
Cool! I can relate to this progression you speak of; however, I still love all the old, heavy stuff I did when I was young too! As long as it clicks w/me in a REAL, EMOTIONAL way, that I can CONNECT with - then this is what primarily matters as far as my tastes go musically!

This guy is TRULY a REAL, REAL UNSUNG HERO MUSICIAN!! HE epitomizes the word REAL!!! DAXX Riggs!!!!

Be good!

Dax Riggs is an amazing man. Beautiful voice, beautiful lyrics, beautiful music. Fucking amazing.
treesdontwalk 2 years ago
Very well put! Keep in mind that not everyone would put it this way, but those who do, really can enjoy a great privilege in life - healing from music!
I do belive it requires a certain type of characteristic(s) to really embrace and understand this. This song in particular, is one of the best I've ever heard!! Almost TOO fucking moving/emotive/real/EVERYTHING that is COOL about music!!!

Dax Riggs is an amazing artist, way ahead of his time. I love Dax!!! The naysayers just don't get it...I am very happy that Dax is with us in this lifetime for us to appreciate!!!
cobprog 4 years ago 3
Don't know if he's "ahead of the time" since folk has been around for ages. He's okay, I still liked him in Acid Bath.

man... he lost his touch. went from bad ass in acid bath to this?
this just seems like a huge waste of talent to me.
AeturnalNarcosis 4 years ago
Man, you're an idiot. If you can't see the talent in this, then you must not think Dax has any talent. How do you compare Dax's "high school" band (his description) with the music he's making in his thirties? He's aged, he's grown up. You should too.

it's weak. uninspired. pale. lame. effortless. period.

i don't make music... but if i did, i can guarantee that it wouldn't make monks fall asleep out of sheer boredom, as is the case with this "musical" abomination.
AeturnalNarcosis 4 years ago
That's silly. Quit trying to be clever.
Andalbanon 4 years ago
acid bath was a brilliant mix of all kinds of music, but still very heavy and simply badass. the same aspect of dax that made acid bath so good is the same aspect that makes his music now not so well received to the old fans. is voice is amazing, but this new stuff just isn't my style.
mj88stang 4 years ago
I am a fan of Acid Bath from the beginning and am soooo into Acid Bath and Agent's but I also fucking LOVE Dax solo and know lots of old fans who do. But I have always been into Jeff Buckley, Johnny Cash, Leonord Cohen, and many other emotive solo artist, so that could be why I suppose.
Allegra250 3 years ago
Well get the hell out of here and go finish whacking off to N'Sync. Let the rest of us over the age of twelve and who know what true music is enjoy our Dax. In short, PISS OFF.

By the way, me and RoseBlackcadillac are speaking to AeturnalNarcosis who is obviously a buffoon.
